The #earthtech Challenge will kick things off in December, but we need your support right now to make it as epic as possible! Visit earthtech.io to back us, or find out more. EarthTech is developing a platform to take a green tech idea all the way from concept to commercialisation with support for development, scaling and funding. We are launching with a challenge for 13-29 year olds in December 2019 (see https://vimeo.com/356900849 for a video introducing the Challenge, and our site www.earthtech.io for more details) and will open our platform generally in 2020. I'm currently reaching out to various organisations and individuals to help us scout for participants, subject matter experts and team mentors. We’re aiming for 2000 teams across Australia and we are also looking for people who can rally their local community around their team and the Challenge.

Gold Coast Green week is held over 10 days full of environmental events showcasing some of the best environmental initiatives on the GC whilst celebrating its unique natural environment from June 4th till June 13th. This event is coordinated by Gecko Environmental Council and Watergum Community Inc. This event is designed to include and engage the wider Gold Coast community and to celebrate the region, its unique environment and community.... Gold Coast Green Week 2019 included 70 incredible events organised by 43 hosts. The events varied from children’s wildlife tours and expos to citizen science sessions and tours for adult participants. Your environmental and sustainable business can now become part of Gold Coast Green Week 2021 as an event host! Perhaps you can organise an online webinar, open day or tour? 07.01.2022 A fantastic day was had yesterday on the Gold Coast, with 81 people joining our Marine Debris team at Surfers Paradise for their June clean-up. Our inspiring g...roup of ocean lovers collected an impressive 35.4kg of trash. Their haul included a mix of the usual finds and some of the more unusual items; plastic food wrappers, foam insulation, lids and tops, batteries, spoon, tent pegs, zip ties, glow sticks, plastic piping, plastic bags and hundreds of metal drink bottle caps. State Coordinator Grahame added: We had a heap of interest from other members of the public who came by for a chat and a read of our info wall. Emma from Flyin’ Fox Ice Blox came by and gave out free ice blocks to everyone so a huge shout out to them. We also had Ned Heaton (11 year old winner of the change maker of the year award) from the Turtle Tribe join us before doing a quick interview and giving me one of his bamboo tooth brushes he has created in his fight against plastic tooth brushes We removed over 5,500 disgusting cigarette butts from what appeared to be a pristine beach and adjoing park in under an hour.
