20.01.2022 The Gold Coast Show 2020 is cancelled due to COVID and the Decision by Council to withdraw 2020 funding and access for the Show Society to use the Broadwater Parklands, as major events are still not authorised by Queensland Heath . Competitions include favourites like Photography, Painting, Indigenous Art, Drawing, Glass Craft, Ceramics, Pottery, Sculpture. There are also several Classes for Youth Arts including the favourites and some exciting modern classes including Graphic Design, Mixed Media and Short Films. It is such a great line up with opportunities for everyone to participate and show off their skills. And one... of the favourites for every Gold Coast Show is the Primary School Scarecrow Competition. How cool is that? Participation from Primary Schools across the Gold Coast collaborating to produce creative and inventive scarecrows. There are terms and conditions and some helpful tips included in the Schedule. 07.01.2022 EXCITING NEWS!!! We are postponing the Gold Coast Show this year from August and are working toward an exciting Christmas Show to be held from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 December, 2020. The Broadwater Parklands has been the home of the Gold Coast Show for the last two years, and the preference would be to hold the FREE event at this location, however if it is not possible, we will look at other options. The Gold Coast Show supports over 300 stallholders, over 100 specialty cont...ractors and over 500 casual workers, and the decision to postpone rather than cancel comes from a desire to support the many stakeholders, small businesses, entertainers, performers, creatives and event industry in the local area. The Gold Coast Show has support from the Showman’s Guild and other major stakeholders and while look and feel is still being worked on, it will certainly include Side Show Alley, Show Bag Pavilion, Stallholders, Entertainment Stages, Arts and Crafts and of course, the delicious Dagwood Dog. When it comes to the all-important Show Day Public Holiday, the Gold Coast Show Society will apply to the State Government to move this in line with the proposed new dates.
