18.01.2022 Hi Guys..! Something a little bit different tonight. This is something we have never done before or shared to our page. However we really need all your help at ...the moment..! As most of you in South East QLD know our Flying Foxes are in Serious Trouble at the moment..! They are undergoing Huge Starvation events with a lot of Flying Foxes dying..! As most of you know we started as Wildlife Carers nearly 15Years ago now. Wildlife Care and Rehabilitation is where our Heart truely lies.! All the Money we earn from our Snake Calls and Reptile/Wildlife Shows. All goes back into our Wildlife Rehabilitation efforts.! Over the years, Myself (Sam Howard), my partner, Katie Eales, My Mum, Tonya Howard and Our Good friend/Wildlife Carer, Robyn Martin. Have rescued and Rehabilitated literally 1000s of native animals.! Possums, Gliders, Kangaroos, Wallabys, Flying Foxes, Birds of Prey, Reptiles, Koalas etc. You name it we have done it..! In this 15 years we have been doing Flying Foxes for over 13years, this is one of our specialties.! In all our time, we have never seen so many bats dropping from Starvation.. We currently have over 10-15 Wild Bats per night visiting our house in search for food and Robyn has the same at her house. So we are feeding nearly 30 Wild Bats per night, between us, just to keep these guys from starving. Every night we are getting more and more.! We strongly believe the starvation event has to do with the drought/lack of rain and therefore the lack of suitable food trees for our Flying Foxes. We need your help feeding these bats. We are spending nearly $200 a week between us all just feeding the Wild Bats. We are NOT asking for help for our own Rehabilitation animals. We have always funded this from our own pocket and will continue to do so for the rest of our lives. We dont have fancy cars, lifestyles, spare time for friends, go on expensive holidays etc. Our whole lives revolve around these animals. A Small $5 donation would buy us a Bag of Apples/Pears, or a couple Melons. If you cant help donations thats fine too. Maybe you could share this post among your friends and family for us. As they may be able to donate. Anything would help us at the moment.! If you would like to follow our page The Australia Reptile and Wildlife Centre. For updates on all our rehab animals and photos of of efforts for these starving wildlife Bats. I will post the link for this page in the comments. Thank You all again for your Support..! Our Flying Foxes really need it.! www.gofundme.com/foodforwildlife

13.01.2022 Wild Encounters to our Fans & Followers.!! Hi guys. Hope all is well. As you can see there is no doubt about it our Wild Encounters FB page has been quite inac...tive throughout 2020 so far, compared to our usual content and interactions. In January & February we were extremely busy with our snake catching, Wildlife shows & displays, as well as our Fauna Management work. We were so busy during this time we didnt even have time for our Social Media Family and for that we are truly sorry.!! Then March 2020 arrived and brought with it Covid-19. Within a matter of days of this disastrous outbreak, nearly every Birthday Party, Vacation Cares, School Shows, Camps and all other Events and Incursions were Cancelled or Postponed. The April School Holidays and the Winter Fete & Event Season has come to a screaming halt with the exception of a few Birthday Parties, Essential Events and the Beginning of our Virtual Online Show Platform being tailored and offered for next Term. Wild Encounters is lucky that we have our Reptile/Wildlife Education Virtual Online Platform up and running, Snake Catching & Wildlife/Fauna Consulting/Management work. We are lucky that these other avenues of Wild Encounters will hopefully get us and all the animals through the Winter Time and through to the end of the Pandemic..! However we strongly feel for those other businesses who rely just on Wildlife Education/Shows. We offer out our support to any other Wildlife Demonstrators, Exhibitors, Snake Catchers... etc. We are all in this industry for the same reason and all in this together. If there is anything we can do for !!.ANYONE.!! In the industry PLEASE know. We are here for you and happy to help whenever and wherever we can.!! COVID-19 Wild Encounters has developed; - Covid-19 minimisation polices - Cover-19 Self Screening Permission Slips - As well as fully equipped markers in place to ensure Proper Social Distancing measures are taken at any of our Events. Wild Encounters is still Fully operating as usual (as per all Government & Industry Standards) with our Snake Catching & Fauna Management. We are still offering our Educational Programs through a number of different avenues so please do not hesitate to get in contact and we can tailor anything to suits you guys best. Over the next coming months, we promise to bring you guys as much Content as possible from our Snake Catching, Animal Rescue, Fauna Management works, as well as any and all Shows & Displays that we attend in the meantime. We are also starting to push our YouTube Channel again to hopefully bring you Weekly Vlogs & other content to help get us all through this unexpected start to 2020, but make the best of what we have.!! Thank you guys again everyone for the Love & Support and cant wait to get to the other side of this whole thing together.!! A few snaps from some of our shows from over the last few months..!
