22.01.2022 SEA whats happened with our wonderful Kindergarten children. We are focusing on the theme Ocean this month because of the science week coming up with the same theme. We were looking at different sea creatures and learning about them throughout the week. We had a sensory tray with shells to explore. Some of us wanted to trace them and colour them, some of us enjoyed listening to the sound of the sea from the shells, some of us liked to sort them and count them. We also had a chance to cut and paste sea animals. We practiced many literacy, numeracy and fine motor skills through these activities.

21.01.2022 We made flags! in Nursery!! Our special babies celebrating National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islands Childrens day. To do this we did some sensory activities using different coloured sand and used our fingers to make different drawings. We put the red and yellow blocks out and encouraged them to get to know the colours. Sensory activities in addition to being fun and interesting for babies, encourage children to explore and investigate. It helps to build nerve con...nections in the brain. It also encourages the development of motor skills. We sang Inanay Capuana using our aboriginal rain stick. They were really captivated with the sound of the stick. They listened wide eyed and with big smiles. After the song, babies took turns to feel the rain stick and shake it. They felt the aboriginal art of embossed dots with their fingers and shook it to make music. I will make sure to include this song more often during our mat session song time. By using three different colours and making dots on our paper we made flags! Painting is a way for children to learn many important things by introducing them on how to, convey ideas, express emotion, use their senses, explore colour, whilst creating aesthetically pleasing works and experiences. 20.01.2022 In kindergarten it is all about learning and making social interactions, having creative minds and joining in on activities. We learn a letter of the alphabet each week and do a activities that starts with that letter as you can see we made a Octopus and one of the letters of the week is O for octopus. This is a great opportunity for children to also engage in conversation with other children. it is also amazing to see how proud they are when they finish their art

20.01.2022 The children were intrigued with the building blocks stuck to this table. They loved banging and imitating the sound it made with their big loud voices and got to feel the sticky tape. These activities help with their Gross and Fine Motor Skills, Hand-Eye Coordination and Dexterity, Problem solving skills and beginning Math and Science

20.01.2022 Kindergarten childrens favorite activity now is our show and tell session. All children are encouraged to bring a favorite item from home and after afternoon tea every day we all gather on the mat allowing each child to come in front of everyone and show and tell about what they have bought to share. There is a question and answer session so that any two questions can be asked and answered. This allows our children to develop communication skills, be more confident and mainly develop listening skills. Through this we are also learning about different colours, learning about different objects, sharing books we like. And it is preparing them to be ready for school too.

16.01.2022 Science education activities provide children with opportunities to develop and practice many different skills and attributes. These include communication skills, collaborative skills, team working and perseverance, as well as analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills. We also played with our favourite monster truck in the sand. This can also improve a childs gross motor skills by using big physical movements like reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, as well as balance and co-ordination. Vehicle play also helps them learn important new concepts like: go and stop; fast and slow; up and down; left and right.

10.01.2022 Natural activity with leaf, flower and glass. Natural materials have a sensory benefit, they have different textures, sizes, colours and smells. They provide more tactile stimulation to children to help them improve their hand/finger awareness and coordination. Natural resources are easily accessible and at this age, children's critical-thinking skills and fine-motor skills are continuously developing. We also discovered magnifying glasses which helped babies see things they've never seen before, like small insect’s close-up.
