19.01.2022 To celebrate NAIDOC week Gawler is coming together at the Youth Shak - Gawler Sport and Community Centre, Nixon Terrace, Gawler on Friday 19th July for a free family event. There will be art and craft activities for children aged 5 to 12 years, kids culture and yarning circle, live entertainment for kids and morning tea and healthy snacks. If you are a volunteer firefighter and are actively fighting the current bushfires we would like to support you to access up to 6 weeks of free care for your child/ren at our centres. You dont have to be a current Goodstart family to qualify for this offer, the offer applies to any eligible* families across our Australian communities. National Pyjama Day is an annual event that aims to raise awareness and funds for The Pyjama Foundations Love of Learning Program, which empowers children in foster care to reach their full potential. Children in foster care hav...e the lowest education outcomes nationally. 92% of children in care will be below the average reading level by the time they are 7 years old. 75% of children in care will not complete high school. 35% of children in care end up in the juvenile system. 04.01.2022 Father’s Day is on Sunday 6 September and Goodstart@Home has some great ideas for families who are looking for a gift that’s from the heart. One of the Father’s Day activities for 3-5 year olds is Building a Memory Jar. We would love to see some photos or videos of memory jars being created for the special Dads (and other males!) of the children at our centre. Other lovely activity ideas are a ‘Do you know how much I love you?’ photo book for babies, or for toddlers; creat...ing a ‘Helping hand’ book of coupons for help getting things done around the house or garden.
