21.01.2022 Albert Einstein told us that Play is the highest form of research and this is our desire for the children, to learn through play. Students at The Anglican School Googong (TASG) really enjoy the new backyard play space in the Junior School. The aim of this space is to foster imagination and creativity through play. Loose parts play is a type of play that supports invention, divergent thinking, problem solving and offers a sense of wonder to children. 18.01.2022 The Capoeira Co-curricular wrapped up the year with an all school Roda (gathering) where they were given the opportunity to express all of the movements and combinations that they had learned throughout the year. The Roda took the interest on the playground as it was the first time that the Capoeiristas were able to share what they had been learning with the school for the first time this year. 18.01.2022 In Miss Di Bartolo's class, Year Two have been creating characters out of plasticine, helping them plan for their own narrative innovations based on Joy Cowley's Huggles' texts. 17.01.2022 Today we were treated to an outdoor concert by the Year Nine Elective Music class and Lia in Year Five. The Year Nine students performed ‘Don’t Fight It’ by The Panics and ‘Seasons of Love’ from the musical Rent. Lia performed ‘What I did for Love’ from the musical A Chorus Line. 17.01.2022 For their final Food Technology project, Year Seven created gingerbread houses. 15.01.2022 As part of their 'Baby Care' unit, the Stage 5 Child Studies class had a visit from Mrs Shaw and baby Zaya. Little Zaya was a great participant and allowed Mum to bath and dress her while chatting and smiling at everyone! 08.01.2022 Today, Kindergarten to Year Two were joined by a Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council (QPRC) road safety officer, as well as Senior Constable Scharner to talk to students about road safety. They allowed students to look inside the Highway Patrol vehicle and sound the alarm. Students were in awe saying the police help people to follow the laws, make people feel safe and are really helpful.
