24.01.2022 It makes my day receiving feedback like this. I do work with allied health professionals (physios, osteos etc) to inform me what is wrong. With this information I help promote efficient movement. Improving your movement is going to help improve your quality of life. It may not fix every injury, but it has fixed many of my clients lower back, knees, neck, shoulders and hips. If you aren’t moving correctly, you are compensating with another muscle that doesn’t perform that mov...ement therefore injury often occurs. Want to fix your injuries for good. 22.01.2022 I’ve spoken to a few people from a few clubs in the SFNL and teams are riddled with lower limb injuries, some teams with up to 20 injuries through their playing list! So I thought I’d put together a few key points to try reduce the amount of injuries. Tips on how to prevent and or rehab lower limb injuries 1. Mobility is key Poor mobility leads to movement dysfunction which leads to injury. If you have muscles restricting movement, you will compensate with another muscles som...ewhere along the chain. This leads to injury 2. Stability Strengthening the stabilising hip, knee and ankle muscles is essential to prevent injuries. 3. Movement patterns Create or improve efficient movement patterns (Hip extension, hip flexion, etc) Due to lack of the 2 points above, we create negative movement patterns. These need to be re-trained 4. Build Strength through the legs A stronger athlete is going to be a better athlete. Being strong enough to withstand the impact that playing sport has on the muscles. There are more things to consider, but if you get these right, you’re decreasing the risk of soft tissue injury. If you're injured, contact me to ensure your rehab is performed correctly!

18.01.2022 Here we have Annemarie Denton deadlifting 65kg. Anne marie came to me with knee issues that were affecting her daily life. With structured strength training, we have improved her movement and her quality of life. She started out deadlifting a Kettlebell weighing 12kg. She has come along way!... A deadlift is a very beneficial exercise as is replicates picking up an object from the floor. It also requires strength in the glutes and hamstrings to perform this exercise. These muscles are used when we walk as well and it creates a good movement pattern. Stronger glutes and hamstrings can help relieve knee and lower back pain when we use them with proper and efficient movement. If you would like to looking to fix your injuries, improve quality of life and improve your fitness levels, contact Gordon Performance today.

02.01.2022 It’s incredible receiving feedback like this. To have a positive impact on someone’s life! I use movement assessments and strength tests to determine where potential dysfunctions occur. Once we have found the dysfunction, we work on fixing it.... Pain is quite often caused by a dysfunction somewhere else in the body. A muscle compensating for another muscle, a lack of strength, poor movement. If you’re in constant pain and / or injured, come down and try my methods.
