This is the start of their something good from something so bad. 23.01.2022 In just over 16 hours Louisa and Helena will be walking just over 14km for Grace's Place. In lieu of not being able to participate in this years City to Surf (we all know the reason for that), these wonderful ladies will walk from their home to Brighton-le-Sands to raise much needed funds for the building of Grace's Place (We'll have some exciting news on that soon too!) They are ever sooooo close to reaching their target of $5000... please see post for the link to donate and help Louisa and Helena meet their target before tomorrow morning! Thank you

14.01.2022 Thanks Peter and Simon for helping to raise awareness of such a much needed cause. It is a great honour to have Simon Bouda, organiser of The Ride for Justice and Ambassador for Graces Place, as our Master of Ceremonies on Saturday night at The Anita Cobby Charity Fundraising Dinner (once again )

13.01.2022 This photo of Anita and Kathryn was taken at Anitas Nurses Graduation Ball. On the 2nd November Anita would have turned 60 years old. Just one of many milestones that her sister has missed celebrating with her. On the 23rd November in just 10 days Kathryn, Patron of Graces Place, will be speaking at the Anita Cobby Charity fundraising dinner. This night began on the 30th Anniversary of her passing due to circumstances that are unimaginable to most. Sadly many children have to walk a path that the toughest of adults could not and this is why we are building Graces Place. Please support this much needed cause by coming along or get in touch if you can offer any other form of assistance. We are almost at capacity and last sales will be on Monday 18th November. https://www.stickytickets.com.au//anita_cobby_charity_fund

13.01.2022 Lest We Forget #ANZAC

13.01.2022 Saturday 23rd November 2019

12.01.2022 Remembering Grace Lynch - who sadly left this world to be with her daughter Anita and husband Garry on this day seven years ago. Garry and Grace were founding members of the HVSG (along with Peter and Christine Simpson, Ebony Simpsons parents and Martha Jabour). What they did for family victims of homicide in NSW is immeasurable. Graces Place is named in her honour and she will always be remembered for all that she did.

11.01.2022 Randi Jean Leighton August 25th 1951 August 31st 2020 We are so sad to let you all know that our dear friend Randi has died after a long and brave battle with cancer. She died peacefully at home with her partner, Paul, and her family by her side. ... Randi was a counsellor with the HVSG. If you ever met Randi, you will remember her kindness, wicked humour and beautiful soul. She attended support meetings and the Ebony & Ivory Ball and evening rode in the Ride for Justice. Randi was a mentor and inspiration to so many. She was working on writing the therapy programmes for Grace's Place right up until almost the end of her life. It was Randi’s wish for those who would like to celebrate her life to donate to the Homicide Victims Support Group & Graces Place charity, in lieu of flowers. As her sons Mike and Steve said - 'Randi’s larger than life spirit will be with us forever in our hearts and memories'.

01.01.2022 Dear Friends & Family, we pray you are all well in light of the devastating state of affairs our country and around the world is experiencing with COVID-19. We ...sincerely pray that this horrible virus stabilises and our researchers find a vaccine or cure. Its such a sad time for our country and what the Australian people are experiencing. We pray everyone is safe, healthy and happy during this difficult time. Eleni and I have discussed at length our Graces Christmas in July Event that was to be scheduled on Sunday 26th July 2020 and in light of the recent mass gathering ban that our Prime Minister Scott Morrison has imposed on our country, plus the state of health issues our country is experiencing with COVID-19 we will sadly not be able to go ahead with our fundraiser on the scheduled date. The health of our friends and family is paramount to us and all energy must be focused on stabilisation and cure. For this fundraiser to be successful for the Homicide Victims Support Group, Graces Place and the Grace Centre for Newborn Intensive Care at The Childrens Hospital at Westmead we deeply feel that postponing is the only option, as we have spent so much time, money and valuable resources in preparing flyers, invitations, social media posts, entertainment, styling etc that we would like to keep to the theme of Christmas In July and postpone to Sunday, July 25th 2021. We have spoken to Diana Rouvas, Paul Kapeleris, Violin by Mel, Sass Events and Dominic from Dragone Productions and these wonderful people have confirmed they will continue to support our event next year. We thank them for their kindness and understanding during this unprecedented time. Also thank you to Doltone House for agreeing to postpone our event, considering the current crisis the entire event industry is facing. For those of you who have purchased tickets to the event already, your tickets will be transferred to the postponed fundraiser event next year you will shortly receive a notification from Humanitix confirming this via email. For the sponsors and donors who have already provided financial assistance and goods and/or services we will continue to contact you directly to further discuss. Our sincere apologies again, however the health of our family, friends and fellow Australians is the most important thing right now. If you have any questions or queries please feel free to contact either Eleni or I.
