21.01.2022 We have such a lovely range of Christmas Cards with deep, heartfelt, biblical messages. I have a feeling they will be selling lots this year as we all want too touch base at a deeper level with our loved ones.

21.01.2022 I was thinking about this year and this song is the song I would like to sing over us. I thought it was time to share it again. May God Bess you all this Sacred and Holy Celebration.

19.01.2022 I know that the solution isn't simple but this is so true.

16.01.2022 Jackie French - "If you want an intelligent child, give them a book. If you want a more intelligent children give them more books".

16.01.2022 Another delightful poem from Tim. Dogma and Love I’m worried about my Dogma... It hasn’t gone as planned He met a girl called Doctrine; She wants to hold his hand. I’m not so sure they’re good together Their manners sometimes grate Her knowledge and his bluntness, Besides he’s only eight. Doctrine’s fine with Love and Grace, My other two offspring, It’s just when she’s with Dogma Her words pick up a sting. Her kindest thoughts are not immune To Dogma’s strange effect. They end up strident, sharp and hard And really quite direct. I think that I will do my best To keep them both apart. Let Doctrine stick with Love and Grace; Stay focused on the heart.

10.01.2022 Love it. It reminds me of how creation is supposed to be with us as caretakers. It also reminds me that life is now slower and we can enjoy creation more.

09.01.2022 Joking is undignified; that is why it is so good for one’s soul. G. K. Chesterton Next time you come into the shop I will be happy to share one of my favourite jokes with you! The one about the scientists who decide that we don't need God anymore.

08.01.2022 Karl manages a fabulous bookstore in Katoomba - He also has a gift with words and a shared love of books and God. I had to share this, with empathy for all those people who have stacks of books still to read like I do. Though I have to say my Mum is worse.... or better?

06.01.2022 So - Still on the theme of Doves. Here we go again (thank you Wikimedia for this image).! We go home to roost for a while. 05.01.2022 OK. So I would have liked to give you a whole lot of emojis but since I'm not a really big fan let me tell you. It is fun to be fully open again and see your smiling faces. Today has been busy, fun, overwhelming, tiring, encouraging and we are back to cleaning, cleaning and cleaning. Thank you so much for your support over these past weeks, for buying from the website ...and ringing and ordering.... Christmas stock is on the way to being out on display and Christmas is coming at a run. See more

02.01.2022 And the Christian Book of the Year 2020 is For the Love of God: How the Church is Better and Worse Than You Ever Imagined by Natasha Moore, John Dickson, Simon Smart & Justine Toh This is what the judges had to say Would the world be better off without Christianity? This bold yet balanced appraisal of the impact of Christianity examines both the best and worst of what Christians have done over two millennia.... Natasha Moore and her collaborators confront the failure of those who claimed to follow Christ but were responsible for the Crusades, the Inquisition and the abuse of children. The ease with which Christians through the ages have ignored both the teaching of Jesus and the dissenting voices of contemporary prophets is a caution. The authors also show howwhen they obey Jesus Christians have contributed to what is beautiful and beneficial in culture and society. In a time of social media echo chambers, fact-free opinion bubbles and divisive culture wars, this sort of fair and generous commentary is invaluable. See more

02.01.2022 John Dickson. Such a gifted communicator. This book is one of the short listed titles for this year's Book of the Year. $14.99 PS He also has a great voice, did you pick him in the Australia Blessing post below? I remember his band- In the Silence. In fact, to date me, I think I still own a cassette of theirs.

01.01.2022 Time to bless you with another chapter in the life of Dogma - by my friend Tim Beattie. Fishing with Dogma. I like to fish with Dogma.... Although I’m not quite sure What it is we fish for, Or who it is, what’s more. I think we’re meant to fish for souls, As Jesus taught us to. But somehow that is lost on us- We’ve other things to do. Like argue, wrestle, chew and spar, Engage in robust thought. So what we spend our time on Is almost like a sport. Perhaps I need to steer him back From his words and books; More like his sisters, Love and Grace, Who fish with gentler hooks. We’d surely catch more fish that way, Or souls from all around By spending time on what builds up And less on what tears down. But fish with Dogma’s what I do, Despite his robust ways. It brings great joy to both of us, And wastes away our days.
