24.01.2022 Great news for our major sponsor. Don’t forget to get down there to support them.

24.01.2022 After this morning’s great news via the press conference from Premier Daniel Andrews, we are excited and hopeful that we will be able to get back on the cricket field soon! We are working in the background and will keep you updated as we get information from Cricket Victoria and the Geelong Cricket Association as to what the new season will look like and when it may start. Once we have some more information, we will let you know, perhaps also with the view of opening up regis...trations. Regards Grovedale Cricket Club Woolworths Blasters Program

17.01.2022 Great news for our major sponsor

16.01.2022 UPDATE- Unfortunately we are still awaiting direction from Cricket Victoria around the COVID Requirements regarding the numbers of our particular program. We are doing lots of work in the background so we can move quickly when the direction is given. We are still on the lookout for a couple helpers , so if you can help let us know.

15.01.2022 ANNONCEMENT - It is with great excitement as well as great relief that we are now announcing that our Cricket Blast program will commence next Friday the 4th of December at 5.30pm. We have received the notification today from Cricket Victoria that we were waiting for and we are now confident that we can run the program in a safe manner as well as abiding with the current restrictions that ALL cricket clubs should be abiding to. We will leave the registrations open until Wedn...esday night (2nd December) for anyone else that wants to register and we will be in touch later in the week regarding the logistics of the night. At this point I just want to thank two groups of people - 1) It has been an incredibly stressful time to be a volunteer but I just wanted to thank all the volunteers of our club, as well as those new parents that have put their hand up to help this season. 2) Those parents and kids that have remained patient and loyal as our volunteers have worked through a difficult situation. Regards Grovedale Cricket Club

14.01.2022 For those kids that are missing their cricket and can't wait for the season to start, you can get your cricket fix at home by registering for Woolworths Anywhere Cricket Blast! This is a free program developed by Cricket Australia and you can register at https://cricketblast.teachable.com/

12.01.2022 Hi All, An email went out to all parents last night regarding the logistics of tonight's sessions. If you didn't receive it could I just ask the kids enrolled in the junior blasters program to arrive at the front of the clubrooms and the Master Blaster kids to arrive at the goals at the Burdoo Road end of the oval.... We might have a quick / socially distanced chat to the parents before we begin but the aim will be to get the kids moving and playing cricket as soon as we can! Regards Grovedale Cricket Club

12.01.2022 Dear Parents, We have opened up registrations for the upcoming Junior and Master Blasters Cricket Season. Our estimated start date is Friday 13th November. Please be advised that due to Covid-19 and the Victorian Government restrictions that all dates and session times may be subject to change. ... Over the years we have continually asked for parent involvement in our program with limited degrees of success. This year more than ever (due to the Covid restrictions that we find ourselves under) we do need your help to run the program. Within each group of participants we will require one parent to fill the role of Covid Officer on a permanent basis and all other parents of participants in the program will be rostered on to help at different times. If we don't get this help unfortunately the program may have to be scaled back or worse case scenario not run at all. This season will look a lot different to previous years and depending on the restrictions at the time, there may not be a BBQ, the clubrooms may not be open, we may not be allowed to have more than one spectator per participant but our sole priority will be to make sure our kids get to play cricket. We will endeavour to update you on the restrictions when we know more and we look forward to your support for the coming season. Regards Grovedale Cricket Club

12.01.2022 Hi All, We haven't forgotten about opening up registrations, we are currently working through some logistical issues around Cricket Victoria's return to train / play guidelines as well as being covid safe. Our main hurdle is the number of participants that are allowed on the oval at any given time. Being mindful of all the guidelines and restrictions, we would like to get as many of the kids back on the cricket oval as soon as possible and to do that we are going to need to b...e super organised with a co-ordinated group of helpers. As this season is going to look a lot different, we thought we would run a zoom session for our helpers to go through the guidelines. At the same time, I would like to encourage parents to join the meeting with the view to see if you could possibly help us out. Please find below the link to the zoom meeting which will be held this Sunday at 7pm. Patrick Klemke is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting. Topic: Woolworths Blasters Meeting Time: Oct 3, 2020 07:00 PM Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney Join Zoom Meeting https://us04web.zoom.us/j/73400657713 Meeting ID: 734 0065 7713 Passcode: VK6RGa

12.01.2022 Great news for our major sponsor. Try to get down there to support

11.01.2022 Dear Parents, If you haven't already received notification, we are writing this to let you know that we have decided to delay the Blasters' return to cricket start date. There are various reasons behind this including the organisation and the logistics surrounding-... . Limits on group size and numbers on the oval . Sanitising all pieces of equipment between use . Having trained Covid-19 Officers per group . Adequate contact tracing records for everyone present Our numbers average between 80 - 120 kids depending on the season, so you can see how this would become a mammoth task for our volunteers, possibly with the need to run multiple sessions per week and sanitising and cleaning hundreds of pieces of equipment several times per week. This is an undertaking that on good conscience we can't put on our current group of volunteers alone. We understand that everyone wants to return to normal and get the kids back on the cricket field as soon as possible but we have to be in a position to run the program in a way that is safe and is compliant with all restrictions. In order to do this, we are going to need more help from our parent group. We recently ran a zoom meeting in order to try and enlist more parental helpers to try and organise a way forward through these restrictions but unfortunately, we didn't have much success. The more volunteers that we have, the more we can do for the kids and the sooner cricket will come back. To put it bluntly we are in urgent need of several volunteer roles that we will need to fill - . Administration Helpers . Group leader . Group helpers . Group COVID-19 officers The sooner we fill these roles the sooner we will be back on the cricket field. Please contact Patrick at [email protected] or on 0438 435 763 to let us know how you can help. Regards Grovedale Cricket Club

07.01.2022 Dear Parents, Thank you for your patience to date. We have received advise from Cricket Victoria in regards to recommended start date for Woolworths Cricket Blast Programs, being 6th February.... It was hoped that we could have the program up and running mid November, but current State Government Restrictions mean we will not be in a position to do so. We will continue to monitor the position with Cricket Victoria and keep you informed of any changes to commencement date. We are still looking for parents to assist with running the program, so please let us know if you are willing to assist. Regards Grovedale Cricket Club
