12.01.2022 Dear Friends, right now we are working to find innovative ways to reach our young people. In times like this, it is so important to turn to Christ and to unite as brothers and sisters. Let’s love each other, look to Christ’s example and pray for the Holy Spirit to guide us in our work. 08.01.2022 Dear Friends, Firstly, I want to thank you very much for your ongoing support of Young Life and our mission. I've been very keen to make contact with you and share Young Life's plans in the New England area for these next 12 months. February seems like such a long time ago. COVID hit not long after I commenced as Area Manager and face to face contact with youth was replaced by an online initiative delivered at a National level. During this time, I have been working alongside ...our Committee to review our mission, how we deliver our programs and, how effective we are in helping those who have made the decision to follow Christ. I'm pleased to say that an Operational Plan has been developed and approved for the upcoming financial year. Our focus for the next year is to improve and expand upon the contact we make with young people in the community, to foster real friendships during our contact work and to model the way Christ loved everyone he ministered to. Secondly, we want to ensure that we provide regular opportunities for our young people to grow and have fun and hear the Gospel in a really positive way. This entire mission is a partnership with you, with church and with community. At the end of the day it is not about Young Life but about building bridges for young people. We clearly need financial support in this mission but more importantly, we need your prayers and practical involvement. I'm so grateful for the enduring partnership of people like Mary Lou Doe, who is continuing to invest in our organisation by training our staff and volunteers this year. I'd like very much to talk to you about the great plans for an initiative known as Young Life College to be hosted in Kirkwood Street and will do so in the near future. 01.01.2022 Hi there, I'd like to invite you to an all expenses paid weekend away! ....well really, it's a training camp and it will cost about $20.... We are commencing our ministry afresh across the region and as part of this, Mary Lou Doe has developed a training program that we'll be delivering on the 23rd, 24th and 25th October at Echidna Gully, which is just out of Armidale. This really is an A-Z of Young Life Ministry and there are a few reasons for doing this: i.. To bring everyone back to the heart of what Young Life is about. ii. To provide a time and space for fellowship as a Young Life family. iii. To standardise the training for everyone engaged in a support or direct ministry role. iv. To provide an opportunity for everyone involved to make or renew their committment to this mission You may be 'boots and all' after reading this - or - you may be worried about how much time that you can commit moving forward. That really is OK. There is no implicit obligation if you would like to attend and there are many ways that you can contribute if you would like to. If nothing else, it will be a great opportunity to meet you and for us to get to know each other as brothers and sisters under Christ. While full attendance - across the three days and two evenings would be best, there may also be options to come for some of the time (as as father of 4 kids, I really do get it..)
