25.01.2022 A big congratulations to Rob Wilkes (on the left) for being the first winner of the Guitar Lessons Albany Student of the Month. In just 6 months Rob has come in as a beginner to guitar, hit some great milestones and is currently putting together his own songs with what he has learnt. I'm very proud of what he has achieved. 23.01.2022 Rob Wilkes has done it again! The first student to take out GLA student of the month 2 times in a 12 month period but it was definitely well deserved and I couldn't bring myself to give it to someone else. Since the last post Rob has continued to write 4 new songs, bringing his total to 5. One of which he performed while singing at the same time to a live audience, of which, some were complete strangers to him. He has described the situation as nerve racking but after the com...e down he enjoyed the experience and says he wants to do more. Great job Rob, I am so glad to see you having a lot of fun and never shying away from a challenge.

18.01.2022 A big congratulations to Tim Henderson, the most recent winner of GLA student of the month. He earnt it during a difficult time with corona virus affecting the community, which is why we are having a good time in the photo laughing about air shakes. I owe him a real handshake I am saving for later. Tim has had some breakthroughs with his improvisation and making some awesome music.... I enjoy working with Tim as he has a genuine interest in what makes music work and I am always excited to answer his questions on how to apply music theory to solve creative challenges. Keep up the good work Tim and never stop being curious on the possibilities of music!

18.01.2022 Congratulations to Matt Barrett for taking home the Guitar Lessons Albany Student of the Month Award. Matt continued practicing over the christmas holidays, every guitar teachers dream, and it paid off. When came back he had some very cool new blues rhythms and improved chord vocabulary. Matt always makes me laugh in class and has a lot of enthusiasm which makes my job of teaching him really enjoyable. ... Really happy to see him progress, keep up the good work Matt!

13.01.2022 Congratulations to Billy Marshall, the most recent winner of the GLA Student of the Month. Billy has put in a lot of focused practice in the Rock Guitar Program, increased his speed and accuracy of his picking and his rock guitar soloing skills are sounding more epic every day. I really enjoy teaching classes with Billy as he is always keen on turning the amp up, we have a lot of fun and he keeps the classes entertaining. ... Keep up the great work Billy!

01.01.2022 A big congrats to Nic Lancaster (on the left) for winning the Guitar Lessons Albany Student of the Month Award. Nic had made some big changes to his practice this month that has helped him to play his rock and metal riffs cleaner, faster and more fluent than ever. I am impressed by Nics ability to find creative ways to fit more smaller practice sessions in to his routine, he is a great example for others who struggle to get a big chunk of time to practice.... Success is about doing what it takes to achieve your dreams in the context of what you have going on in your individual life and Nic is crushing it. Keep up the good work Nic!
