10.01.2022 Wow 7 years in the creating Handsomepretty, 8 weeks in the closing of our bricks and mortar store. Thankyou to all customers who have supported hp over the years with purchases. I love community and felt Handsomepretty was very much part of yours! I have loved creating this beautiful store. I have been really touched by those who have come to say goodbye and how you will miss the shop for Canberra. Sometimes you need to close a door to make new opportunities happen. Someone ...new will take over the space in ORI and so the hp void will be replaced quickly I hope. A couple of neighbouring stores will pick up some brands and so check with them when buying for Christmas. Thank you to my staff over the 7 years who exuded Handsomepretty style and exceptional warm customer service. I particularly want to thank Sophia @sophia_dounoukos for being so committed and supportive until the last, along with her impeccable artists and styling eye! Independent small bricks and mortar stores like when I started in this business 25 years ago (for those who remember) are a threatened species and so treat them with respect and your support. They are local people who work hard to bring you the best and they employ local Canberrans. I have lots of ideas bubbling around in my head, including future collaborations. However right now I have to chill for a bit to let these evolve. Thankyou too to my loyal supporter and partner Greg who reluctantly stood behind the counter when he had too it didn’t happen often.
