25.01.2022 INTER-SCHOOL SPORTS CARNIVAL On Wednesday our amazing athletes competed at the Inter-school Sports Carnival. O’Connor PS won the carnival with 199 points with HPS coming equal second with St Marys PS on 198 points. It was soooo close!! The teamwork, perseverance and bravery from all of our athletes was outstanding and every single student contributed to a successful carnival. ... Congrats to Hurricane, Zinzan and Jack for taking out Champion and Tayah and Pardon, Runner up Champions Phenomenal effort! Here are only some photos of our athletes from the day.



25.01.2022 Aussie Bread Tags for wheelchairs Room 13 are collecting bread tags which will be recycled in Perth. The money raised from the recycled plastic is used to buy wheelchairs for disadvantaged people in South Africa. Please bring them to school and put them in the collection box in the office.

21.01.2022 ICT with Mr McGurk Settlers Pre-primary learnt some different skills on the iPads today. They took photos and learnt about the editing features and learnt how to code with Code Spark. They are looking forward to using their new skills in the coming weeks

20.01.2022 WINNERS Congratulations to all of our students who represented Hannans Primary School at the cross country interschool carnival today! All the students ran their hearts out and did amazingly well. We had lots of place getters as well as two champions and two runner-up champions. AND... Hannans come home as the overall winning school in Pool A!

17.01.2022 Hannans Primary School celebrated NAIDOC Week with a fantastic day of activities. It began with a ceremony in the morning and then our students enjoyed a range of activities afterwards. We would like to thank all of the organisations and people who came to support this NAIDOC celebration, and all of our school community volunteers who came to help run the BBQ and this fantastic day.

16.01.2022 National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence Students joined in activities run today by our student councillors and faction captains at lunchtime. There was collaborative LEGO where they had to work together to build their project, friendship paper chains and a host of activities out on the oval. The activities were designed to have students get to play together, work together and enjoy their lunchtime together.

16.01.2022 CRICKET Today we had people from the Scorchers promoting local cricket in the Goldfields. If you have a son or daughter that would like to play cricket, get down to Morrison Oval this afternoon for a FREE come and try event. Details included in the photo.

15.01.2022 Hannans Primary School battled it out today at the Interschool Swimming Carnival. They displayed amazing sportsmanship, confidence and athleticism.

15.01.2022 The City of Kalgoorlie Boulder are excited to launch Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s very own Nature Passports. See the photos attached for a sneak peek! The City has been working with Nature Play WA to develop these resources which aim to encourage outdoor play in the amazing open spaces right here in town. To get your hands on one, go along to the Digital Wellbeing Seminar for Parents, facilitated by Nature Play WA.... Thursday 12th November 6:00pm 7:30pm Central Regional TAFE, Outdoor Amphitheatre Learn strategies to manage children’s digital life in balance with being physically active and staying connected to the world beyond the screen. The event is FREE but registration is essential via the link in the comments. Two door prizes up for grabs; each prize a selection of outdoor gear up to the value of $150. Register and attend the seminar to go in the draw!

15.01.2022 FATHER’S DAY PICNIC! What an absolutely fantastic turnout for our Father’s Day picnic today! Thank you to all the dads, mums, grandparents and families who attended today! The weather was sensational and everyone looked like they had a blast!

12.01.2022 WESTERN POWER EXCURSION The Year 5 and 6 students were fortunate enough to go on an excursion this week organised by Miss Skellett and Western Power. Students visited the substation on Piccadilly St and the Community Battery on Dart St. Students got to try on some PPE and they learnt how the substation and community battery work. Following this, students participated in some more activities with Western Power and had some pizza, pies and sandwiches for lunch. Fair to say it was a fun day with lots of new learning.
