19.01.2022 HDE was awarded the Main Ventilation Fan Ducting Replacement contract at Cook Colliery Mine. This project involved the full design, fabrication and installation of; 1. New shaft top bend with 3 fan transition.... 2. Dual pressure relief system. 3. Hydraulic remote activated knife gate. 4. Gas monitoring system. Tight time frames and scope changes presented some challenges; but were quickly overcome with quick and innovative thinking by HDEs designers and project management team. The new structure was fully designed and fabricated in 3 months, and installed during a 7 day shut-down. 16.01.2022 3D Scanning is extremely versatile; and often a much faster, simpler and more accurate measuring technique than conventional methods. Recently we were asked to provide accurate dimensions for the connection points on a Reclaim Feeder. The idea behind this was to allow the feeder to be replaced with a new design; while utilising the existing support structure, feed bin and discharge chutes. Using our Leica P30 3D Scanner, we scanned the existing feeder and adjoining structure..., and used this data to accurately model the connection points, chute flanges, feed bin and support structure. The scan data was also used by site to corroborate the new feeder prior to its installation. How can 3D Scanning assist your business?

15.01.2022 Did you know our 3D Laser Scanner is approved for use in underground coal mines? This week some of our staff went underground to scan the inside of a conveyor chamber. The data produced from these scans was used to produce as-built drawings of the chamber, enabling the accurate design and installation of the new conveyor system. 12.01.2022 More success with 3D Scanning! Earlier this year, HDE were engaged to provide an As Constructed model of the rail bridge piles over Mission River, Weipa, (Necessary for design modifications to the bridge headstocks). A scaffold was constructed at the upper level headstock for access. HDE designed a custom mounting system for their Leica P30 scanner to enable scanning underneath the scaffold at low tide, and captured the exposed bridge piles. ... This project was completed with zero disruption to the bridges normal operation.

06.01.2022 No challenge too great! Following the unexpected failure of a stacker, HDE were contracted to fast-track the design and supply of a new diverter chute to load the mobile stacker. Time was critical to ensure the loading facility could be operational in just 5 weeks! Obvious safety issues stopped all immediate access to the area, however with our 3D Laser Scanning capabilities HDE took all dimensions from a safe distance!... Working closely with the Client, HEME (fabrication) and Empower (civil and structural certification) meant that this project was delivered on time, safely and without incident!
