20.01.2022 It is ok to be shy! One of my brides recently could not bring herself to speak into the microphone when it was her turn for the wedding vows. Too easy - we put the mike down and she spoke confidently and clearly, myself, her groom and the witnesses heard her make her legal vows.... This is OK! It was her wedding and she still complied with the legal requirements. 09.01.2022 I got an unexpected call this week. A hospital rang me and said we have a man, he wants to marry his love before he passes. I rang his love, she said we’ve been together 20 years, I just want him to know how much I love him.... I rang QLD Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages and they confirmed we could receive a shortening of time. In 3 days I have married 3 couples and seen 3 rainbows. This afternoon Blackie and I married his Mum and Dad in the gardens of the hospital. It was short but very, very sweet. I offer this couple the following Gaelic Blessing: Peace of the running water to you, Peace of the flowing air to you, Peace of the quiet earth to you, Peace of the shining stars to you, and the love and the care from us all to you both. 03.01.2022 I bought a little fan this week. It's a usb operated one that I will keep in my celebrant bag. Earlier this year, we had a terrible heat wave hit the Capricorn Caves when I was conducting a wedding. The humidity must have been two hundred percent. My poor bride was suffering. I looked up and there was a guest with a little hand held fan. I politely requested he hand over the fan for the greater good - and he did! 02.01.2022 Remember when Carrie and Big were supposed to get married in the New York City Library and he chickened out and broke hers and all our hearts? I would really prefer this didn't happen on my shift as a celebrant please, but you could still get married in a library... I love libraries... I even used to be a #librarymonitor hahahaha.
