17.01.2022 It's okay to outgrow friendships, relationships, jobs or interests over time. Sometimes developing into the person you want to be means taking a look at the things that make you happy and even removing from your life the things that don't. Whatever your path happens to be, make sure to put yourself in charge of your own happiness. #headspace #mentalhelath #friends #relationships #brisbane

15.01.2022 "At the age of 12 I was diagnosed with an eating disorder and depression, which saw me become isolated from my friends and extended family. 10.01.2022 Many of us are feeling overwhelmed at the moment it's ok to feel this way. There will be times when you’ll experience negative thoughts but remember we should be kind to ourselves. Reach out for support and build skills to improve your headspace. #headspace #mentalhealth #brisbane #overwhelmed #emotions

09.01.2022 Understanding our emotions is an important part of mental health. Before we can understand our emotions, a good place to start is to observe our emotions and what it is we are actually feeling. By getting better at understanding our emotions, we can get better at choosing how to respond to them. #headspace #mentalhealth #emotions #brisbane #response

08.01.2022 Connection to culture, knowing who I am and where I come from has filled a gap in my identity that I needed to feel whole. This week we celebrate NAIDOC. NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations. This year’s theme is Always Was, Always Will Be. It’s about seeing, hearing and learning the First Nations’ 65,000+ year history of this country. ... We asked some of our young people how connection supports their wellbeing. Connection can be to country, waters, kin, Elders, community, totem and more. #NAIDOC #alwayswasalwayswillbe #Indigenous #mentalhealthawareness

07.01.2022 The practice of taking time off work for your mental health tends to be more of a grey area - especially in times like this. It may be all too easy to convince yourself that poor mental health isn't a good enough reason. But remember, your mental health is just as important as your physical health, just like bodily distress, your mind needs time to rest and recover. 1 You don't need to go into detail or justify it to anyone. 2 Just like a sick day, do things that make you... feel better. Do things that make you feel good, not what you think you should be doing. 3 Take a longer break if a single day-off isn't quite enough. Take action and reach out for more support. #headspace #mentalhealth #brisbane #work #study #working

07.01.2022 With the challenges of this year, mental health and wellbeing has never been more important. So this year, the message from @aumentalhealth is simple: "Look after your mental health, Australia." #headspace #brisbane #mentalhealth #australia

04.01.2022 How to ask a friend how they're going: 1 There’s no right or wrong way but it's important to choose a way that feels comfortable. 2 Keep communication open and see if they want to talk about things. Maybe you’re not the right person for them to talk to right now, but you could let them know that there is free and confidential support online or over the phone from places like eheadspace, Kids Helpline and Lifeline. 3 Listen to their concerns and keep an open mind. 4 S...upport your friend and help them build their support network. #headspace #mentalhealth #ruok #friends #brisbane

04.01.2022 The amount of time you spend on your screen can sneak up without you realising it. What can you do if your screen time has gotten out of balance? - Get other activities done first before you relax online. For example do some exercise, get your homework and chores done, walk the dog and spend time with your family before turning on your device. Treat it as a reward. - Decide in advance how much time you want to spend online, then set a timer to help you stay within t...hat time limit. - Schedule in some ‘no screen times’ during your day. - Set up times to ‘unplug.’ #headspace #brisbane #mentalhealth #screens #phones #online #internet
