25.01.2022 The Dirty Dozen 2019 is in. For those of you that are not familiar with this list, it is a list of the foods that are most highly sprayed and contaminated with toxic pesticides. These are the foods that you should only buy organically. Strawberries tops the list every year. Celery comes in at number 11, so for all of you that are on the celery juice band wagon, you may want to think about buying organic celery $$. There is also a Clean 15 list, which are the foods that are OK... to buy and eat non-organically as they are not heavily sprayed. This is where you can save buy not buying organic food, so that you can afford the $11 bunch of celery!! Note that there are slightly different lists for Australia, USA and Europe, as some foods are grown and managed differently by each country. Check our the Environmental Working Group.org for all the details. Happy shopping See more

24.01.2022 I’m enjoying a great day of learning herb at the Mediherb Stress and Brain Architecture seminar. When we think about stress we need to remember, there is both good stress and bad stress. But the most damaging and neurological effects occur with prolonged stress, whether good or bad. So how stressed are you?

23.01.2022 Some tid bits about margarine. I can't believe anyone still uses this junk that was once popular in the 70's and 80's. But unfortunately I have seen in recently in a recipe for a snack suggestion for my daughter's school sports team.... I think I'll be providing them feedback about that. Use butter, preferably organic from grass fed cows. It's a natural food, fat, that your body recognises and needs.

23.01.2022 I loved this and thought you may too.

22.01.2022 When we think of magnesium, most would just think of it’s benefits for muscle relaxation and sleep. But as you will read here it has a myriad of benefits and reactions on the body and mind. And unless you are eating your dark leafy greens every day, a couple of time a day, you may be missing out on some of the benefits of this essential mineral.

20.01.2022 Haven't tried reflexology yet?? Come and visit me this Friday at the MBS festival in Darling Harbour, 10am-1pm

16.01.2022 are you on the OCP, considering going on it or have a daughter considering using it? Unfortunately the contraception should not be the only consideration.

15.01.2022 Hi everyone, I’m back in clinic at Endeavour College Monday’s from 11:30- 6pm. Thank you to all that supported me last semester by visiting, but maybe it’s time for a follow up? 13.01.2022 Remind me again why the Australian government are trying to trying to exclude complementary therapies!!!!!

08.01.2022 Hi, for those of you that don't know, apart from being a Nutritionist and Reflexologist, I am also studying to be a Naturopath in my spare time. I am now in my final year of my degree (Bachelor of Health Science -Naturopathy) at Endeavour College of Natural Health in Sydney. As I am now working in the college clinic, I am now able to see clients for naturopathic treatments. So if you are free on a Thursday between 0830 - 2:30pm (this semester) I would love you to make an appointment to see me. Maybe a personalised herbal treatment is just what you need. Either contact me, or the college directly.

08.01.2022 Another reason to try reflexology

07.01.2022 I’ve had my morning walk and coffee with my princess and now home for a good breakfast. Some scrambled eggs with sautéed spinach, then a blood cleansing juice with carrot, celery, beetroot and ginger, full of antioxidants and some metabolism boosting zing from the ginger. Best part though is taking 20 minutes to sit, relax, digest and enjoy the moment. Apart from eating good food, we also need to take the time to relax and digest that good food. Make time for yourself, you’ll reap the benefits. Enjoy your weekend

07.01.2022 Take some time for yourself and come in for a relaxing recharge

06.01.2022 I'm looking forward to a movie night with like minded people. A movie and Q&A about six cancer patients that decided to use a different approach. Let food be thy medicine??

04.01.2022 Why wait until the New Year to start a weight loss or wellness program, start making small changes now. Here is a list of healthy fats, fats that will assist you in weight loss, without leaving you feeling hungry and deprived. If you are interested in following the Shake It program, a program that has proven clinical success in weight loss and sustained weight management, give me a call and I can help you with a program to suit your needs.

02.01.2022 Another reminder to ‘just eat real food’, it’s really that simple! The problem is all the temptations that exist in on those isles in the middle of the supermarkets, in the form of junk or as highlighted here, highly processed food. Not all good in the ‘Healthy’ isle is actually healthy!!

02.01.2022 Ginkgo biloba with its vasodilator, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties is one of the most consumed herbs worldwide. Ginkgo has been used traditionally to support the circulatory and nervous systems, with clinical tests showing it aids in the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency, varicose veins, angina, type 2 diabetes, Raynaud's phenomenon and more. It may also be used to improve concentration, memory or cognitive performance and promote healing. As well as being a Nutritionist and Reflexologist, did you know I am also studying Naturopathy? I am now in my final year of a BSc Health Science at Endeavour College of Natural Health in Sydney (Broadway). Come in and see me in clinic on a Thursday for a naturopathic consultation. Maybe you could use a bit of Ginkgo in your life

01.01.2022 With all the chopping and slicing of strawberries going on at the moment, it reminded me of a recipe I hadn't made for a while, Roasted Berries from the Life Changing Food cookbook by Jo Whiten & Fouad Kassab. So easy to make and absolutely delicious on so many things, for example, on natural yogurt for an after school snack. Take 500g strawberries, slice and dice as needed these days!!, 300g blueberries, slice if large, 2 tablespoon honey or real maple syrup and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla powder. Combine all and place on 2 baking trays lined with baking paper. Roast at 180C for 25mins....delicious!! Great on yogurt, Russian custard or see if you can hide some from the rest of the family and have on your chia seed pudding for breakfast. Good luck #slicedstrawberries #roastedberries #dicedstrawberries
