24.01.2022 Doggy dinners part 2. This is his version of dessert. Time inside on the mat, with loads of pats and scratches. Happy doggo. 23.01.2022 HIS FACE WHEN HE WAKES!!! I massaged the dog after work today. And I think he totally blissed out. Took a lot of prodding and psssst-ing to get him to wake up. His face at the end is priceless! Awww doggos know how important touch is. It solidifies bonds, comforts and soothes. It signifies protection, being part of something bigger than yourself, unity. ... Pretty sure we could all use Macks tips on being a good receiver and totally letting go. If only his return affection wasnt shedding hair all over the floor, scratching me in excitement and trying to sit on top of me whenever I sit on the ground. (Last one is kinda cute!)

22.01.2022 Reflux in newborns is a terrible thing. I had it myself as a baby and know my Mum would have done absolutely anything to remedy it. Often a common cause is food intolerances. But heres the catch- its MUMs diet that needs to change. If bub is breast fed and suffering reflux, its important to look at Mums diet and identify common allergenic foods that could be affecting bub. Mum might have no issue with the offending food, but that doesnt mean baby wont. For formula fed ...bubs, there are often allergenic triggers in the formulation like dairy, wheat, soy, and so on. Many parents gladly turn to medication to try and alleviate their babies suffering, but that is not without its own cost. Have a look at the information below. As a naturopath I believe that following a stricter maternal diet, using specific herbal remedies or spending more money on a better formula is a lesser cost than affecting a childs microbiome.

21.01.2022 MOVEMENT MEDICINE Its been a long time between regular yogic movement for me, Ive come up with 101 excuses, but it was sitting cross legged on the floor at work that really brought the message home. It was painful. Difficult. I felt an extreme tightness from my hip, across my glute and down to the top of my ITB. That is not usually me. With no Pilates or yoga for well over 2 months, plus increased stress, more couch and bed time, less movement in general, my bod...y was changing, even if I didnt notice at first. My excuses now were ridiculous. I have MORE time than before, I have MORE space than before, so why have I contracted? Easy answer (always my answer whenever it comes to avoiding things) FEAR. When I get scared I freeze. And over the last 2 months, theres been a lot in my life that I have been fearful about. So I froze. This is a pattern Ive been uncovering recently, and it has kept me locked in relationships, jobs, houses, friendships and situations that I knew I didnt want to be in, but didnt have the courage to address or change. That is not bad, its not good, it is just the coping mechanism I adopted as a child to keep me safe. And noticing it is a very positive step in changing my patterns. If I choose to... So for me, the second step after noticing is moving. The first time I did this flow I cried three times. If you know me, you know Im not a big crier. I cried through postures that were included to unlock emotions, lung lines releasing grief, heart lines releasing pain. And I cried towards the end when I looked in the mirror and recognized the person looking back at me. 45 minutes prior I had looked in that same mirror and thought I dont even know who that is. I look like shit. Who even is that? After this flow, those tears, the stretching and opening, I looked in the mirror and saw me. I had unfrozen enough to see some of my light shining through again. It had been a long time. Maybe the tears are my fears, melting. Maybe movement creates the cracks that lets the light in. Either way, it truly is movement medicine.

21.01.2022 Miracle baby on board!! 10 years after her last pregnancy, after being told by the medical profession shed never fall pregnant again, I started helping this lovely lady with her autoimmune hypothyroidism, energy levels and digestion. Fast forward 12 months and SHES expecting!!! Being told it was impossible by the medical profession meant she wasnt using contraception, and because she had accepted the fact that she wouldnt have another baby, we never worked directly... on fertility... But we did address her digestive issues, support her endogenous hormone production, and remedy some significant nutrient deficiencies (specifically D and iodine), and voila!! Life found a way!! I was a bit shocked when she first told me, thinking it may be unwelcome news, but she, her husband and their 10 year old daughter can not wait to meet this little one, coming soon!!! There are so many things I love about being a naturopath. 19.01.2022 BEEF BONE SOUP! Disclaimer... I stole the dogs beef bones for this, no lie!! BUT... I should clarify that Ive been feeding him human grade soup bones as theyre leaner than the pet bones at the butcher. Slow cooked soups are PERFECT for right now, super nutritious, immune boosting, perfect to use those slightly past their prime veggies, and great to make a lot to freeze the excess. ... I popped this on yesterday at midday and just had a bowl for breakkie after taking it out of the slow cooker this morning. Ingredients include- beef bones, a little chuck beef, zucchini, carrot, celery, onion, a lot of garlic, shiitake mushrooms, bay leaves, Italian spices, @bestofthebone broth, apple cider vinegar and water. Cooked for 20 hours on low. It is VERY delicious. #beefbonebroth #beefbonesoup #immunity #boostyourimmunity #feelbetter #eatbetter #slowcooked #cookandfreeze #freezetheexcess #leftovers #naturopath #nutritionist #whatnaturopathseat #whatnutritionistseat #immunesystem #immuneboosting #paleo #keto #primal #broth #glutenfree #dairyfree

18.01.2022 Pretentious muesli alert!! The other week I was in a health food shop and got waylaid by their range of bulk muesli and granolas. I was absolutely astounded by the level of extra that some companies go to when creating products. I was sucked in to buying a little of the most pretentious, extra muesli I ever did see (for the low price of my first born) and OMG!!! ... It was freaking amazing. And now Im ashamed because Im one of those people that eat muesli that has kombucha soaked, activates nuts, damiana extract, beetroot powder, monk massaged pomegranate... and other such hipster ingredients. But look. Its preeeeddy!! And also, surely the pH controlled, enzyme activation and love promoting, circulation boosting, superfoods are only a good thing?!?! Yeah its unnecessary. Yeah its extra. Yeah its stooopidly expensive. 17.01.2022 When I was young I was aware I had the mean Mum. We never had dessert, sweet snacks were pieces of fruit, and at birthday parties sometimes I wasnt allowed certain food items such as the ice cream cake at Maccas. At the time this sucked. Now, I could not be more grateful to Mum and the way she ingrained healthy eating in me. Love you Mum!

17.01.2022 Breakkie food porn!! . When I’m anxious I can fall into the poor eating habit. I might skip breakkie and have caffeine instead, or reach for carbs and sugars in a subconscious attempt to make myself feel more energetic and happier. . Being a naturopath for over a decade does not mean I’m perfect. I still have my moments when my diet isn’t what my body actually needs. ... . And this is ok. . The key is catching it, recognizing it and making an effort (because if you’re stressed it WILL be an effort) to change things. . I can help you, just as I help myself. . This morning I’m enjoying savory, veggie packed beef mince, baby spinach, organic egg and a seeded sourdough with a slab of butter. . That should get me through the 5 massages I have booked for today. . #healthyfoodporn #naturopath #nutritionist #healthybreakkie #paleo #keto #paleobreakfast #lowcarb #highprotein #adrenalsupport #gf See more

17.01.2022 I massaged the most beautiful stretch marks on a lady the other day. They were like ripples on water in places and tiny leaves in others. Just like in this pic by @iuliastration As you never know how people will react to comments about their body, even positive ones, I never mention anything about a body Im working on. Even if it is just glorious. Even if these stretch marks were a natural work of art. When I was 16 I was put on the OCP for terrible acne. One of the many... side effects of this drug was the fact that it formed dark reddish purple stretch marks on my butt. Once I realized what was happening, I made the decision to prioritize my face over my butt. These stretch marks grew to cover my entire butt and hips. Angry, red, purple stripes I never saw in magazines or movies. Terrible acne at 16 was emotionally crushing, I was told I looked disgusting. Mean people laughed at me. Boys did not like me. So yes, I traded my butt (and my health) for my face. So when I got my first boyfriend, I made the decision Id never let my imperfections make me feel disgusting again. Way before I ever got into a bikini in front of him, I bluntly hit him with So I have heaps of purple stripes on my butt. If thats a problem, let me know now! I refused to allow myself to feel LESS because of something my body created. While this worked to a certain extent in keeping body shame at bay, I never loved these flaws. Just as I never loved my acne scars or other imperfections. I chose to use them as weapons to challenge people, to weed out those only interested in superficial beauty. Could they love and accept me with these flaws? No one ever said no. But I never received any compliments on them either. I did not think my scarring and stretch marks were beautiful so I never asked if anyone else did. I wish I could have told my lady that her stretch marks made me catch my breath. That they werent flaws, or imperfections at all, that they made her more unique, more beautiful, more glorious. I hope she smiles when she sees her butt in the mirror, that beautiful lady with mermaid scales on her skin. #stretchmarks #realbeauty #bodylove

17.01.2022 A L L O W C H A N G E When I was in high school I developed bad acne. Being 16, I begged Mum for help. We tried natural medicine and it didn’t work. Finally she allowed me to go on the pill and low dose antibiotics. Which I stayed on for 7 years. While this approach fixed my acne, it destroyed my gut health, hormonal health and my microbiome.... In my second year studying naturopathy I knew I needed to heal my body. I couldn’t keep hurting myself for the sake of my appearance. So, terrified, I stopped the drugs. And in 3 months my skin became a nightmare. I stopped wearing glasses unless it was for driving. I stopped looking at reflective surfaces. I stopped thinking I was beautiful. The first pictures are from when I was still brave enough to track my progress. It got worse and I stopped taking pictures. It got so bad I couldn’t have the spray from the shower hit my face for the pain. I had to put tissues all over my pillow at night or my face would stick to it. I’d talk or smile and my skin would crack and blood and pus would literally run down my face. It was a nightmare. And then it started healing. With homeopathy, nutrition, healthy living and cosmetic treatments like blue light, microdermabrasion, IPL and skin needling, my skin healed. But the big thing was TIME. Healthy living became my lifestyle. I learnt triggers that set off my acne and avoided them. I was fanatical about what I used on my skin (natural, organic, chemical free) and in my body. And I gave myself time. 12 years is a long time. Honestly my skin has been great for the last 5 years but I haven’t been ready to tell my story until now. The last 2 pics were from this week. Going through that was one of the hardest lessons I’ve ever had. But my god it was worth it. I learnt so much about true beauty, friendship, self love, and self care. I learnt to love who I was on the inside. And I wouldn’t change a thing. I think what I want to share is HOPE. No matter what your current circumstance, I believe things have the potential to change. We might have to work for it, but change is a constant. Sometimes it’s just about patience, persistence and allowing.

14.01.2022 Two of my focuses right now include supporting my immune system and my budget. This chicken soup kicks goals in both these areas! FYI I forgot to mention the medicinal mushrooms I add- the dried shiitake mushrooms that go in the pot, and then the 1/4 tsp of powdered immune supporting mushrooms that I add to every bowl. Gives it a little extra ... If you do experiment with this recipe please let me know how you go, its my new favorite way to make chicken soup!!

14.01.2022 Weekend Chai Ritual A couple of mornings a week, mostly on weekends, I’ll spend time making my favorite chai. Honestly I’ve gotten so particular about it that buying a chai out at a nice cafe is often a disappointment. Blanket naturopathic statement- caffeine is the devil. ... It encourages depleted cortisol, increased adrenaline, spikes then crashes our blood glucose levels, affects our nervous system and puts a heavy load on the liver. Oh, AND it inhibits the absorption of some of our essential nutrients such as iron. For someone who is sensitive to caffeine like me, a cup of coffee on rare occasion seems ok, but have two in a week and I’m likely to be anxious, irritable, overthinking, sweaty, reactive, and experience poor sleep. Oh and tired. So yeah... it’s just not my medicine. Even strong chai teas can affect me- more mildly but they still contain caffeine from black tea. I have found my combination to be the most beneficial for negating the yucky side effects of caffeine, while still enjoying the benefits! This is what I do... Heat about 500ml of unsweetened @goodbetterbruce almond milk on the stove with 2-3 heaped TBS of @pranachai sticky chai mix (original and turmeric are my favorites). Then I strain into the best keep cup I’ve ever had (because it’s so BIG, is insulated and fits all my chai!!) from @ever.eco, then add about 2ml of an alcohol extracted medical mushroom tincture. I’m currently using Shitake for its immune building and antioxidant properties from @lifecykel. I then add a scoop of @nutraorganics collagen powder- this one is for hair skin and nails. This mix is about 90% protein, so it slows down gastric emptying, helps to modulate blood glucose and gives more energy for longer. I’ve found that the combo of medicinal mushrooms and either collagen or gelatin reduces the caffeine spike and crash, plus the protein keeps me full for longer. Happy chai-ing! #chaitea #caffeine #natuopath #nutritionist #whatnaturopathseat #whatnutritionistseat #collagen #medicinalmushrooms #stickychai

13.01.2022 My new favourite veggie dish!! I call it pretty ratatouille!! For those that can eat nightshade veggies, this is such a winner. It tastes like pizza!! Sliced and arrange zucchini, eggplant, tomato and squash on a bed of diced mushrooms, capsicum, onions, garlic (cooked in tomato paste, pasata, olive oil and Italian herbs), drizzled with crushed garlic, olive oil, basil and rosemary from the garden. Plus salt and pepper of course. ... I got creative for my birthday and popped a mozzarella ball under the veggies! Naughty dairy hit for my birthday- but tasty AF. Then you put it in an oven for 45 minutes with foil over it, then another 30 without. 13.01.2022 Come on Australia, remember who we are. We earned a worldwide reputation as a young country with a huge heart. We were all brothers, mates, loyal to a fault. We cared about our neighbours, we worked together. ... We went above and beyond what the world thought was possible. When things got tough, Aussies got going. Or at least thats what I thought. Ive heard the stories and seen the pictures. Ive watched the ANZACS march, and seen the tears over fallen comrades. Ive heard those young Aussies never let a friend down, or left a man behind. These are the stories Ive grown up with. This is what I thought we were made of. Our mettle. Our moral fiber. I was proud of who I thought we were. And yet now I see self-centered adults squabbling in the supermarkets over excessively filled trolleys. Ive seen panicked people vent their outrage on blameless shop assistants. Ive seen the elderly ignored, walked over, snapped at. I have seen a me-me-me mentality thats so far removed from mateship I am shocked. This week I am ashamed. Surely we are better than this. It only takes small acts to make big changes. If you have a lot of something, share it, sell it, give it to those who dont. If you see someone in need, ask if you can help them. Keep your temper. Dont vent your frustration on the blameless. Be calm, smile, and try to remember that we are all Australians. We are all mates. 12.01.2022 Is that even breakfast?!?! . I’ve been struggling recently to have allergen free, lower carb breakfasts. . I’m such a difficult client when it comes to breakfasts... While I love eggs, they’re a problem for me if I have too many and I’ve recently started reacting again. So eggs are off the table. ... . If I have a higher carb breakfast like toast or cereals I have blood sugar crashes around 10 and start craving all the sweets and naughty snacks. . Most of the paleo loves out there are either $20 or contain eggs or sunflower seeds- two intolerances I need to avoid. . So here we have my latest option. A Mediterranean inspired spelt wrap complete with bruschetta dip (sun dried tomato and capsicum), goats feta, baby spinach, cold roast eggplant and sweet potatoes, avocado and cherry tomatoes. . Not exactly high protein but the fact that it’s high fiber and phytonutrients should sustain me without the high carb crash. . An encouragement for anyone that needs to eat outside the square when it comes to food intolerances. Don’t be afraid to try lunch or dinner food for breakkie. 10.01.2022 MENTAL HEALTH CARE On Monday my uni closed its doors for the semester, today the day spa where I do bodywork also had to shut. The pharmacy where I work is now classed as a front line service, high risk, open as an essential. With so much change its no surprise were all feeling the pressure. Stress levels are so high. Insecurity and fear are palpable. ... I encourage everyone feeling these emotions to be proactive about their own personal mental health. Here are my simple suggestions: Communicate to friends and family. Skype, call, email, text, WhatsApp, FB, insta... however you choose, but stay connected and communicating. Try not to be over informed. Staying up to date with the rapid changes that are happening is definitely important, but dont allow yourself to be glued to your screens all day. This will only increase your stress. Move your body. Online yoga, stretch, garage workouts, backyard games, twister, making love, lounge room dance party, work out the stress through body movement. Get out (SAFELY) in nature. I walk the dog daily in a large park with wide open spaces, making sure I call out good morning to those I pass while staying safely distanced. Do things that switch off your mind. Bake, cook, paint, draw, read, sew, write, fix, meditate, clean, arrange, DO! ASK FOR HELP! Its 100% of to be NOT OK right now. Its ok to feel like youre not handling things. If you feel overwhelmed, please ask for help. Friends, family, mental health workers, naturopaths, counselors, EFT practitioners, mentors, ask. Just ask. Breathe. Dont for get that this too shall pass. Take some deep breaths. Use a relaxation app or an anxiety app to help you calm the nervous system through breath. It helps. I am here if you need. Connect with me if you need help. Today I painted my representation of a garden from my dreams. I have zero art skills but I was pleasantly surprised with how well it turned my mind off. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthcare #stressless #mentalhealthtips #relax #calmyourmind #breathe #create #covid_19 #selfisolation #selfisolate #selfisolationhelp #mentalhealth

09.01.2022 B O U N D R I E S Recently I’ve been challenged by both boundaries and triggers. By many people, many situations, even by myself in my dreams!! Triggers that cause me to question my boundaries. Boundaries that make me feel triggered. It’s been a lot. Anyone else?? Seriously, 2020 STLL?!?! What the fuck??? But in the midst of the intense discomfort I saw these challenges for what they really were. Gifts. Fucking painful pieces-of-shit gifts, but gifts none the less. ...(#cheersuniverse ) Honestly, they gave me rare insight into old belief patterns that were still lurking under the surface; old insecurities, old stories I chose to take on and hold as my truth. Trauma and wounding I thought I’d healed from but still remained inside me. It was easy to allow these challenges to be momentarily all consuming. To wallow in the pain, insecurity and discomfort. To feel wounding and heartbreak and sink into self despair. To doubt mySELF. When I was 17 and learning these hard lessons for the first time, I did just that and more. I willingly pulled down every tiny boundary I ever had and swallowed every triggering event. 20 years later, while these boundaries are still sorely testing, while these triggers still hurt like a bitch, I got to see what has changed. I altered my boundaries; explored what it was like to have them challenged, then redefined them when it didn’t feel good. I felt the wounding of my triggers as they stabbed me, and then chose to let them go instead of holding them tight. My realization: I’ve grown. My old patterns might always pop up now and again to challenge me (apparently a utopian world that doesn’t throw my shit in my face occasionally isn’t possible? Who knew?!?) but from this experience I know I’m not that same wounded child anymore. Which allows me to be kind and full of love, but have boundaries like a motherfucker. So I am grateful. P.S. personal growth ain’t no rainbows and fairy dust. More about near breakdowns and car sobbing episodes from my experience. Just FYI in case you thought growth was supposed to be pretty. #personalgrowth #boundaries

09.01.2022 Pic 1... Visiting a conventional baking friend. Friend: These brownies are going in the bin! I cant eat any more and theyre going yucky and dry. Me (not stressed): Oh cool, chuck them. ... Me (stressed): Pretty sure theyre still good, let me just have the tiniest, littlest bite... Imma just... yeah that bit was... oh this bit... though mmmmm... actually Im done... no wait... ok done... hang on... yeah ok youre right, its done. Pic 2... Me done. Brownie done. Friend shocked and requiring photographic evidence. What did I learn? 1. Im stressed AF. 2. My friend is a very dangerous baker of delicious treats. 3. Cats want brownies. 4. Homemade is best. For me, I crave sweets and carbs when Im tired, and I get tired when Im stressed. But in the flow of life I dont always make the connection between the two until something like this gives me pause. It gives me the chance to check in and ask myself these questions: 1. How am I feeling? 2. Why am I feeling this way? 3. What can I do to change the cause of these feelings? 4. How can I support myself right now in a healthy way? When was the last time you checked in on and asked yourself the questions above? Self love for me, is a balance between self acceptance and self awareness. I demolished a week old brownie last night with no guilt. But I also choose to be aware that regularly eating these things wouldnt support me at all. I take the brownie as a delicious (if slightly stale) red flag, indicating I need to up my self care and stress support in healthier ways. Love that. 09.01.2022 Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly;... and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. 08.01.2022 SIMPLE TIPS FOR ALL Ive noticed a few things since the start of all the crazy: 1. People are buying up big in the natural vitamins and supplement area. Good work peeps! ... 2. People have forgotten how easy it is to support health with lifestyle choices. Ill help here. My local supermarket has been out of pasta, rice and flour for a while now. And while these non perishable items are great to have, theyre not the food items that will feed your immunity. So far, none of the shops near me have run out of fresh fruit and veg, and its THESE items that will help support immunity and keep you healthier than the refined carbs. Daily Im seeing people who are so IN the panic that theyre inadvertently lowering their immune system by producing excessive cortisol. Heres how you can support both your nervous and immune systems to keep the panic and the bugs at bay. Vitamin D- at lunch time I go outside, roll up my pants and soak in some D. Not only is this very calming, vitamin D is an excellent immune supporting nutrient. Daily D- do it!! Slow cook up. With all the fresh veggies around, Im making slow cooked meals such as chicken and veg soup (with immune boosting shiitake mushrooms and garlic). There were only chicken wings left at the supermarket so thats what I used. Cook outside the square. No wings? Use necks. No chicken? Use dried lentils. Freeze the excess. Limiting screen time. Obviously knowing the changing current events is important, but staying glued to your TV or screen isnt helping. Get your info and then spend your time doing something relaxing to help balance out those cortisol levels. Stay hydrated, Im drinking a lot of herbal tea right now- echinacea and ginger, cayenne and manuka etc. Ginger and cayenne are diaphoretics- they can promote sweating. They can encourage an increase in body temperature which can help kill pathogens. Bed socks and essential oil. At bedtime I pop on some immunity oils and keep my feet toasty. Sauna. Getting hot helps to kill pathogens and alternating hot and cold supports immunity. Stay well peeps!

06.01.2022 Bravery is... Jumping off a waterfall when you’re afraid of heights. Leaving your comfort zone- a job, a home, a partner, a personality trait.... Staying when you want to run. Running when when think you should stay. Watching someone die and continuing to live. Really looking at yourself, your flaws, your ugliness, the shit we ALL have inside us and choosing to accept and love that darkness too. Or trying to. Knowingly breaking someone’s heart. Opening to love, when you’ve been heartbroken, accepting it could happen again. Apologizing to your family for hurting them unfairly, just because you are sure of their love. Revealing your vulnerability to a friend who hurt you and telling them it’s not ok. Stating your boundaries. Saying yes to a new job, a new home, a new position, a new love, a new experience. Saying no to a friend, loved one, boss, company, stranger. Saying I was wrong. Saying I love you. Saying I love ME more. Walking away, letting go, saying goodbye. Asking for help. Accepting help. Putting one foot in front of the other. Trying. Being afraid and doing it anyway. Saying it anyway. Showing up anyway. Diving in anyway. Bravery is jumping off a waterfall when you’re afraid of heights. #bravery #tobebrave #bebrave #livebrave

06.01.2022 Immune boosting chicken soup! My budget and my immunity are two areas Im wanting to take care of right now, and this soup supports both! I made approx 2.5L of delicious slow cooked soup for about $7.50. It stores so well so extras went in the freezer. ... This morning I recorded a video on how to make it (complete with bed hair, PJs and an unwashed face ) so Ill share that tomorrow. In the mean time, dinner!

05.01.2022 One can never have enough socks. ~ Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. 23 years after its release and I finally agree with Dumbledore. Even though Harry questions his truthfulness in this response, I do believe I finally understand the sock attraction. As someone with perpetually cold hands and feet, Ive never really worried if my feet are cold in winter because theyre always cold. I wore thongs and sandals in winter, ignored acupuncturists advice when they to...ld me to keep my feet warm, and bought socks simply to prevent blisters. This year something changed and I have embraced socks, embraced keeping my feet warm, and noticed my immune system has really appreciated the change! My immune system has felt really strong this year, and I attribute it in part to keeping my tootsies warm. So friends, family, if youre struggling for gifts at any stage, SOCKS have a new found status in my eyes. Thick, wool, cushioned, size 7 please and thank you. Plus I love the fact that Dumbledore and I are on the same page. PS These are Moose socks from Jackson Hole in the US. Souvenir socks!! 05.01.2022 INFUSIONS & ESSENCES . The energy over the last couple of months has felt particularly heavy. As a result Ive found myself naturally gravitating towards working with herbal infusions (teas) and flower essences instead of the heavier hitting herbal remedies like tinctures and supplements. . Last nights full moon saw me hand crafting an organic herbal infusion and personalized Australian bush flower essence for a lovely lady. ... . Herbal infusions are most effective when prepared with intention, the brew allowed to slowly steep before taking time out to sit and sip. I love the invitation of space and time in an infusion. This is no hot bevy we hurriedly make and throw down on the way out the door... this form of ancient herbal medicine encourages mindfulness, ritual and reverence. It gives us the opportunity to stop, tune in to ourselves and drop into the present. Something that weve been asked to do more and more of in the last few months. . Think of how many ancient cultures have sacred rituals around the preparation, sharing and drinking of tea. It can be as simple or as ritualistic as you wish. . A personalized Australian bush flower essence is a blend of the vibrational essence of flowers, each specific for a unique way of feeling. For example, for those feeling scattered, changeable or dithering, jacaranda essence encourages decisiveness, quick thinking and feeling centered. . I love the magic of these subtle medicines. With three science degrees under my belt, I am definitely a scientist. But what I love equally as much as the proof of a scientific method, is the magic of energetic medicines. Cant measure, cant explain, still works! . Science and magic!! Two of my favourite things. . DM me if youd like your own herbal infusion or flower essence. I offer zoom consults. . #floweressence #abfe #australianbushfloweressences #herbalinfusion #herbaltea #naturopath #nutritionist #magic #scienceandmagic #scientist #vibrationalmedicine #vibrationalenergy #teaceremony #teaceremonyritual #fullmoonritual See more

05.01.2022 OK OK OK... Wooooah Nelly!!! There a HUGE amount of panic, dare I say, MASS HYSTERIA, going on right now regarding coronavirus, the up coming WORST flu season EVER, the toilet paper shortage... and so forth. The media is LOVING it!! Cue ominous music, biohazard sigils, hazmat suits and very serious reporters... ... I consult from a pharmacy and weve been sold out of masks and hand sanitizer for weeks and will be for months to come. 2 little truth bombs... Face masks only work for 8 hours, then you need a new one. So Dorris, you might want to hold off wearing yours to the shops just in case you actually need it later. Hand sanitizers are PREDOMINANTLY antibacterial. The coronavirus and the flu (which is also strains of coronavirus by the way) are VIRUSES!!! Sooooooo yeah. .. While proper hygiene and hand washing and sanitizer are good ideas, lets not freak out too much if you missed the boat with this one. Just wash your hands well. What you CAN do... Wash your damn hands. Support your immune system. The two supplements pictured are my faves. Ill be taking these starting now to help support and strengthen my natural immunity. Avoid things that suppress your immune system like caffeine, refined sugar, alcohol, stress, dehydration, poor sleep. If you are sick, stay TF at home, or if its very bad, go to hospital. DO NOT soldier on. Do not go to work (if you can at all help it), do not send sick kids to school. While you probably just have something innocuous, we all dont need to be getting sick and panicking about it. Try not to panic, panic buy, or get sucked in to scammers out there selling exorbitantly priced shit. Perspective- at this stage, the mortality rate for all coronaviruss is very low. If you DO happen to get it, the chances are youll be 100% fine. Its not a death sentence. Chill. Stop thinking a flu shot will stop you getting sick. It may protect you from certain strains of the flu BUT it does not stop you catching bacterial infections, and other strains of the flu. Its not a cure all. Stay calm and healthy people.

05.01.2022 Many people struggle with this concept, especially when the advice that comes from their doctors includes eat more dairy for strong bones! I like to remind my patients about the Japanese, who had a traditional diet very low in dairy, and yet also had incredibly low rates of osteoporosis. Interestingly, as dairy consumption has increased over the last 40 years, so too have their rates of osteoporosis. Something to think about.

04.01.2022 Day before grocery day? While it was tempting to nip down the road and get a naughty takeaway for lunch, I dug into the crisper and decided to make the most of my sad, week old greens. For lunch we have stir fried broccolini, bok choy, snow peas and pepitas cooked in coconut oil, tamari, bone broth and sweet chili sauce! ... Yes it would have been great to have some ginger, garlic, or protein to bulk this up a bit, but it did the job and I didn’t waste last weeks organic veg! Feeling a solid adulting win for this one. Going to celebrate with a bubbly water with a splash of probiotic cordial in it. 04.01.2022 Yesterday I said goodbye and good luck to some of my incredible naturopath students, finishing up clinic and their bachelor of naturopathy degrees. . I am proud of these next generation practitioners will be stepping out into the world and sharing their ample knowledge. . These newly fledged practitioners will change people’s lives. I have no doubt. It was a blessing to be part of their journey. And not just for the chocolate. ... . I have a quote on my vision board that states When you learn, teach. When you get, give. They will all go out there to teach their clients what they know. One of our naturopathic principles is Docere to teach. Congratulations to you all finishing up, I’m very proud, impressed and inspired by you all. . #bachelorofnaturopathy #graduatingstudents #goodbyeandgoodluck #docere #thelastclass #doneanddusted #naturopathy See more

04.01.2022 Step 1. Veg prep. Step 2. Walk dog. Step 3. Dinner time. Without a lot of free time at the moment, I’m looking for ways to maximize my downtime. I’m a big fan of meal prep. I never cook a single serve meal for myself, always making sure I have left overs for freezing or having the next day. ... I see lots of clients that say they don’t have the time to meal prep, but honestly it doesn’t have to be about putting aside a morning to make all your food for the week, I just make very big batches when I cook. These roast veggies will go into a cold roast veg salad today that I’ll have with slices of my left over organic steak. I don’t like eating the same meals continually back to back, so when I cook up a big meal (satay chicken curry is on the menu for tomorrow night), I’ll portion it out and freeze it, adding to my stash of frozen meals that I can choose from when I feel like. It keeps me interested, nourished and healthy, instead of grabbing take away or eating toast for dinner, I have something significantly more substantial at my fingertips. With a 45min cook time, my little veggie cubes give me enough time to take the boof head on a walk, get some nature time, and come back ready to pop on the steak. Not bad multitasking for a Tuesday evening. #mealprep #healthymealprep #getorganized #multitasking #roastveg #organicfood #organicsteak #glutenfree #paleo #naturopath #nutritionist #whatnaturopathseat #whatnutritionistseat #getoutside

04.01.2022 While I usually do my best to stay out of online arguments, I saw a post from QLD Health the other day that really pissed me off as it goes against pretty much everything Ive been saying in relation to immune support. Im happy to see this research come out regarding a correlation between higher Vitamin D status and milder covid symptoms. Please dont get me wrong, I dont believe anything on the list will 100% PREVENT you from getting sick, but these natural treatments can... certainly help support your immune system, and hopefully result in milder symptoms should you happen to fall ill. Soooooo maybe healthy sun exposure that boosts vitamin D levels, isnt a bad idea??? https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/12/4/988/htm

03.01.2022 Some wonderful natural health info to help support your immune system at the moment.

03.01.2022 What my 4 year old Staffy Mack eats for dinner. Yes, I have naturopathed my dog. Im that person. Before you think Ive gone way too EXTRA on my dogs diet, I can assure you that its for my benefit as well. He gets all my left over scrap veg and veg that is past its prime. I also have a very good reason for feeding him this way. When I was born I had a Weimaraner. He lived off kitchen scraps, bones and dried food. He lived till he was 15 and was healthy till the end. When I... was a teenager we had a German Shorthaired Pointer. The 90s were big years of dog food rolls and canned chunks in sauce. He died at 12, covered in tumors and riddled with cancers. I firmly believe that the colours, flavors, preservatives and the processed nature of his diet contributed to his cancer development and early death. Mack is my first dog, my fur baby, and I want him healthy and happy as long as possible. So I am feeding him as well as I can. It might seem extra when I also grew up giving my dog cold sloppy canned food, but I have to say my parents also follow this diet nowadays. And my Dad who didnt want another dog after our 12 year old died, happily grates up veggies every night for his chocolate lab. Doggy love. #doggynutrition #dogfood #healthypup #furbabyeats #naturopath #nutritionist #heathydog #happydog #naturaldiet .

02.01.2022 Hi there people! I’ve never done an introductory post so thought it was about time. My name is Rhianna. Not like the singer, she spells it different. Plus I’m older- I am the OG. My name means Forest Nymph, Devine Queen or Witch depending who (and what nationality) you ask. ... I was born with black eyes and they stayed black until I was about 5. Creepy seeing how I was also pretty bald till then too. I have a younger brother who I couldn’t be more proud of. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a heart of gold. I love learning new things and have always followed my interests no matter where they’ve taken me. Primarily I am a naturopath, a nutritionist, a bioscience lecturer and an Hawaiian bodyworker. As a Naturopath, I combine Western herbal medicine, nutritional medicine, flower essence therapy, and diet and lifestyle therapy to holistically support people to achieve their best health. As an energetic bodyworker I use a combination of Ka Huna, Lomi Lomi and intuitive body work to help people find their center, release stored emotion and deeply connect with themselves. Oh yeah, and relax. As a bioscience lecturer I teach budding naturopaths, nutritionists, acupuncturists and myotherapists the absolute FASCINATION and JOY of starting to understand the human body. Random things about me: I am by nature, an introvert, I have worked as a jillaroo out west mustering cattle across the Pilbara, I moved to Tokyo when I was 21 for 2 years to teach English, I love languages and speak bits and pieces of 4 (3 very poorly), I haven’t eaten a yellow jelly bean since I threw one up when I was 3, I am crazily passionate about health and helping people, I love teaching people what I know, and I habitually name my cars based on their license plates. So hi there. Thanks for reading. If you would like my help with anything I mentioned above, or if you have any questions about what I do, please DM me. Goodnight!

01.01.2022 Back to work... I have to be honest, being required to work online again for my uni after a 6 week break was quite the shock to the system. A. Really. Big. SHOCK!!! 6 weeks ago when my uni shut its doors and I no longer had a job as an on-site lecturer, I went through what I remember as a HEAP of stress; worrying about the future, my income, my career, and so many other things. I freaked out. ... Going from working 6 days a week to a mere 18 hours across three days was a HUGE shock to the system, I was beside myself. I experienced boredom, guilt, frustrated, fear and hopelessness. And then, miraculously, mysteriously, and without me even noticing- my body and mind adjusted. I started napping, sleeping better, going to bed early, relaxing guilt free... my nervous system settled. Fast forward to now and Ive been thrown back in the deep end, doing tasks for uni that are brand new to me and stressful. Using technology Im unfamiliar with, navigating my way through things I have no scope for. Cue a monstrous STRESS RESPONSE!!! I started sleeping poorly, worrying, being irritable, and procrastinating. When I finally knuckled down and got into it, my brain and nervous system went into overdrive and I ended up jittery and wired with a stress headache and no appetite. So does that mean I should quit some of my jobs and stick to part time work that doesnt challenge me? Or does it mean I need to support my nervous system NOW in a big way? Our bodies are capable of becoming used to incredible stressors. Often we dont know how stressed we really are until we are removed entirely from the situation (think of the health crashes people get on holidays). For me, its a big red flag that tells me to continue NOURISHING MY NERVOUS SYSTEM. Personally, this means moderate exercise, no caffeine, yoga, meditation (my nemesis), and beautiful nervine and adaptogenic herbs such as skullcap, lavender, and lemon balm. And being aware. If you need some support readjusting to a busier life, I can help. I work with herbal tinctures, supplements, flower essences, and physical bodywork. DM for more info.

01.01.2022 A decade after I left Endeavour as a fledgling naturopath and nutritionist, I am super excited to return to the other side of the classroom- as a bioscience lecturer! I get to teach one of my favourite first year subjects to brand new students- anatomy and physiology!! The biosciences have always been fascinating to me and explaining the inner workings of our incredible body is something I get super passionate about- now I just get a willing audience instead of a ...slightly terrified random individual/friend/family member! 01.01.2022 A beautiful and heartfelt review from @randysimpson_ after her most recent bodywork session. Im so excited to be back sharing Ka Huna and Lomi Lomi bodywork again from my clinic and the @greenhouse_thebathhouse. The government deemed all non remedial massage as nonessential over the covid time and one thing Ive noticed since starting back is how many bodies are just crying out for touch. ... So many tight muscles and tension from stress, lack of exercise, less movement than normal, or just deep sadness from lack of regular touch! #hugsnotdrugs Im truly grateful to be back in the massage swing of things again. If you need some Devine Hawaiian body love, please get in contact. My table is waiting.
