21.01.2022 #FlashbackFriday Thinking back to all the memories from 2019, as we start thinking about creating our highlights reel for 2020. Turn sound on if you can.

21.01.2022 I grew up in Toowoomba, and as I grew older, I realised that even residents of relatively large towns can find it difficult to get specialist healthcare. And thinking about that, I couldnt imagine the stress remote area Australians would feel if they required the same."

21.01.2022 A special message from Dr Gomes following the exciting announcement he has been named as one of four finalists for 2021 QLD Australian of the Year. #AusoftheYear #wereallpartofthestory

19.01.2022 It's a wrap! Our NextGen Medics students have successfully completed Block 1 of their four-block program with us. These inspiring future doctors and allied health professionals had their first real insights into the daily reality of patients living in rural communities, and the challenges (and joys) of delivering specialist medical services to rural and regional Australians via a mobile clinic. On behalf of the students, please allow us to thank all the patients, doctors, and team members who helped make their Block 1 in Dalby such a great success.

16.01.2022 Heart of Australia coming to Blackall has meant the world to us. Its a service our community can rely on. The Heart Trucks mean so much more than cutting our specialists visits from three-days to three hours including the two hours of travel. Theyve changed our life, our community and the face of rural healthcare. We couldnt imagine Blackall without Heart of Australia.

11.01.2022 We were honoured to have the chance to speak to the Rotary Nomads (Public Site) this week about the work of Heart of Australia and our impact in the communities we serve. Members of The Rotary E-Club of Australia Nomads live in houses and RVs across Australia. Many members travel widely across the country (when border restrictions allow) giving them a strong appreciation of the vast distances we need to travel in our Heart Trucks to deliver services to The Bush. Thank you for having us.

11.01.2022 We showed you our #DeadlyMoves early this week in response to a challenge from Goondir Health Services. Find out more about how we work together to support our Indigenous patients.

10.01.2022 Encouraging people in rural and regional communities to prioritise their health can be tricky. Fortunately, our long-running supporter IOR Petroleum is helping us spread the word via a moveable campaign on one of their fuel tankers.

07.01.2022 Growing up in Melbourne, you are so accustomed to having access to all the health services you need on your doorstep. So, it was a real shock when I realised that if the Heart of Australia service wasnt out there, these people simply wouldnt get the services they need."

07.01.2022 In recognition of Mens Health Week, we wanted to throwback to a story of resilience. Skip Field, like many before him, was impacted by the grip of distance. An issue rural Australians feel far too often. We feel his story represents many of the challenges experienced by people living in rural communities and further highlights the importance of Mens Health Week, and the vital specialist services Heart of Australia delivers to these rural communities.

07.01.2022 Sunalie Silva from The limbic recently interviewed Dr Gomes regarding "how he challenged the status quo and turned what he very humbly says was 'a small idea', into a service that six years on, has revolutionised the way specialist medical care can be delivered to Australians disadvantaged by the countries' vast distance." 07.01.2022 Our NextGen Medics students were excited to get to the Heart Truck in Dalby to start Day 2 of the program. This was their first chance to step onboard and see our mobile medical clinics first hand. Our students spent the day shadowing Dr Kostner (cardiology), Dr Fernandes (endocrinology) and Joe Potter (sonography), with many insights being gained about these specialities, and importantly, how they can be delivered in rural locations. Our students also spoke to patients, who... kindly took the time to share their thoughts regarding the joys and challenges of rural life, and their experiences accessing healthcare. We rounded out the day with the students attending one of our GP Education events, where Dr Kostner presented interesting cases in cardiology to the local health community over dinner, hosted by our partner, Bayer. We cannot wait for Day 3.
