16.01.2022 Dear Parents and Carers, We are excited to share the news of our Heckenberg Public School Community Garden. The community garden will include an Aboriginal Bush Tucker Garden and Multicultural Garden to reflect the diverse cultural background of our school and local community. The project is being funded by the school and a grant provided by Liverpool Council to our school community hub. The aim of the garden is for students, staff, parents and community to come together t...o learn about: the traditional ways of caring for Country and the importance of the environment in Aboriginal life and culture the cultural background of our multicultural community and community connections sustainability and healthy living enhancing the local environment The project is being co-ordinated by Robyn Mancuso and Helen Grdic. They will continue to be in contact with students, parents, carers and community to get your ideas for our community garden. The aim is to complete the construction of the garden this year and plant the garden early 2021 when we are back at school to care for the new plants. Please contact the school if you have any questions or would like to share ideas for our community garden.

14.01.2022 Extension of application closing date for Year 7 selective high school placement in 2022 Online applications for Year 7 selective high school placement in 2022 opened on 13 October 2020 and were due to close at 11:59pm tonight. The closing date has now been extended to 11:59pm AEDT on 17 November due to technical difficulties being experienced with the application site on Monday morning and in order to ensure equitable access to the application for placement in Year 7 in 202...2. The Selective High Schools and opportunity classes website has been updated and the new date will be advised on the application site. 12.01.2022 Just a friendly reminder that GKR Karate is on today Thursday 12/11/2020 from 3pm to 4.15pm. Please send your child to school with their karate uniform and a bottle of water. The children will be at the school front gate at 4.15pm to be picked up by parents or carers. Thank you.
