25.01.2022 What a beautiful day...Spring is well and truly on its way! Im not looking forward to the heat of Summer but Im definitely looking forward to planting all those awesome warm weather vegies! :-) I now have bean seeds available aswell. Three types of climbing beans: Blue Lake, Rattlesnake and Purple King. And five types of bush beans: Roc dOr, Royal Burgundy, Provider, Italian Romano and Red Rooster. Ill be at Perth City Farm on Saturday 8-12 and at Kalamunda Farmers Marke...t 8-12 also. Have a great weekend! :-)

21.01.2022 Where did this week go?! Market time is here again! Ill be at Perth City Farm tomorrow 8-12 and Growers Green Farmers Market on Sunday 8-12. Heaps of beautiful tomato plants and herbs this weekend. 30+ varieties of tomatoes should be enough to chose from I would think! Im hanging for bruschetta with heirloom tomatoes...yum...grow little tomatoes, grow!... Happy weekend! :-)

14.01.2022 Yes, I admit it, Im a big girls blouse when it comes to snakes. I just came face to face with a nice, rather large, dugite in my greenhouse....my hearts still racing!! It wouldve been entertaining to watch my reaction Im sure! I was casually watering my lovely plants and singing them sweet songs when I came around a bench to where I had been standing a minute before and had a 1.5m long dugite looking right at my tasty white ankles (first ankle exposure of the season). Nee...dless to say I made a speedy exit and called to my not-so-fierce guard dog, Peaches, who thankfully wasnt in the greenhouse at the time. I locked her inside, danced around like a big girl on the verge of tears (pathetic!), grabbed a broom (?!!) and went out in search of the snake.....and of course, its nowhere to be seen! But there is a ridiculous number of places in and around my greenhouse where it could be hiding :-( My current dilemma is that I still have to pack for the markets tomorrow! Please dont make me go back out there!! Gumboots and 5 layers of long trousers required me thinks! Wish me luck.... Moral of the story: The snakes are back in town...Theyll be loving this warm weather but keep in mind theyll still be a little bit slow because of the cooler weather lately but theyll be full of venom...Take care!

13.01.2022 We visited a great community garden down in Pemberton a few weeks back...what a beautiful place! Check out this awesome strawberry planter! I want me one of these!!

13.01.2022 Thought Id try a vertical garden and here it is! I am surprised how well its growing considering the stand is only 1m tall and 55cm wide with 5 tiers...not too shabby! It also only gets half a day of sun. Heaps of basil, sage, thyme, oregano, spring onions and some parsley getting swamped.... Time to make some pesto!

10.01.2022 It could be said that maybe I got a bit carried away with my garlic collecting this season!! There are 8 named varieties and no doubt lots of double ups with the unnamed shop varieties but Ill plant them out and see if I can work out who they are

07.01.2022 Seed Savers Exchange in the United States had their annual tomato tasting recently...58 varieties on the taste testing menu! Nice! My personal favourite, Lemon Drop, came in 3rd place and Aunt Rubys Green came in 2nd. 1st place was taken out by Mexico Midget which I havent seen available in Australia just yet. Whats your favourite heirloom tomato?

07.01.2022 Unfortunately I wont be able to make it to Subi Farmers Market tomorrow morning as I had hoped. Sorry!! Ill be back there on Saturday 23rd August with lots of herbs, silverbeet and lettuces. Ill also have more seed varieties available for then.

06.01.2022 I just checked the weather report for tomorrow and it doesnt sound like promising market weather. Heavy rain, damaging winds and possible storms doesnt sound pleasant! So, unfortunately I wont be going to the markets tomorrow morning. All going well Ill be at Subi Farmers Markets next Saturday and Kalamunda Farmers Markets on Sunday.
