17.01.2022 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19s) impact on communities across NSW is evolving rapidly, PCA NSW is monitoring advice from NSW Health and Federal Authorities in re...lation to major events. On Sunday 15th March, NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard made an Order under Section 7 of the Public Health Act 2010 to force the immediate cancellation of major events with more than 500 people. PCA NSW State Executive have reviewed the entry numbers for this event and have postponed the PCA NSW State Sporting, Campdraft and Team Penning Championships which was scheduled to be held in April at Gravesend. PCA NSW State Executive hope to work with the Host Zone to find an alternative date later in the year and details will be circulated as known. Riders will receive a full refund and if new dates are found riders will need to re-nominate for the event. You will all be aware that this decision has not been taken lightly and the PCA NSW State Executive understand that some riders will be disappointed, as are we. We will continue to work towards providing an alternative date. PCA NSW will continue to monitor and forward advice from State and Federal authorities to keep everyone up to date. The current advice for smaller events in NSW is that they can still go ahead and full details surrounding good hygiene practices has been circulated to all PCANSW members yesterday. Please ensure that everyone keeps up to date with any directive from State and Federal Authorities, we will continue to provide updates as necessary.

15.01.2022 EQUESTRIAN AUSTRALIA ANNOUNCEMENT Earlier today, the Equestrian Australia (EA) Board announced that it had voluntarily appointed an administrator, in response t...o solvency concerns, following the re-allocation of Sport Australia high performance funding from EA to the Australian Institute of Sport. This will have minimal impact of Equestrian NSW, which is financially secure, has a stable Board and Office Team and is working towards the return of equestrian competitions post COVID-19. The Equestrian NSW Board wants to assure members, coaches and clubs that the current Gow Gates insurance cover will apply until 30 Jun 20 and appropriate cover will be in place ready for 1 Jul 20. Further details will be advised soon. FY2021 member renewals are going ahead with many members renewing before the extended 30 Sep 20 deadline, which is very much appreciated. Feedback is welcomed, so please call our office on 9620 2660 or email [email protected]. BRUCE FARRAR - Chief Executive Officer

15.01.2022 Updates from Federal and State Governments are changing daily, which means our information changes daily. Information sent one day may no longer be current the ...next day. Pony Club NSW are currently participating in a teleconference with the Minister of Sport, and will send updates as soon as we know more. Pony Club NSW will be following the advice and guidelines and our State and Federal Government, as we have been since the COVID-19 pandemic developed. In a time of uncertainty for everyone, please do your best to act with kindness and understanding.

15.01.2022 Zone 22 are having a virtual Gymkhana. Details attached.

15.01.2022 Due to the current corona virus situation we have sadly decided to cancel our zone camp for this year This is very disappointing for our riders but our priority... is to make sure all our riders and volunteers who would be attending stay safe and well and hopefully join us next year for a great week of fun A decision on all other upcoming zone events will be be made on a week to week basis and clubs will be notified in due course Keep an eye on this page for more updates See more

14.01.2022 Hi everyone, Given the forecast and with the recommendations on restricting travel, the NSW Committee has made the tough decision to cancel this weekend's event... at Woonona If you had already entered, please shoot me or Maureen a message with your bank details so we can reimburse you. The event next weekend at Bungendore will still go ahead, however, because of travel guidelines we recommend to our members that you only attend events local to your area. That means for the Bungendore event you should only attend if you live in Canberra or the immediate NSW surrounds. We will be attempting to get some more local events scheduled in for the Sydney and Woonona areas, we will keep you posted with updates on this. See more

14.01.2022 WET WEATHER Rally day today is CANCELLED due to unexpected heavy rain overnight and continuing rain this morning. Apologies for the late call but we did think it would be on. We will let members know about an alternative date. Have a great day.

13.01.2022 Riders nominating for state need to let zone secretary know EOI by tomorrow 3pm

13.01.2022 To help our Gear Checkers stay covid safe and also help guide them when checking we have created a digital framework for gear checkers to follow. We have both W...ord (so you can edit and change to suit your club) or a writable PDF so you can fill these out on an iPad or even your phone to limit touching of paper and pens. This form is not a requirement, but just something helpful for our clubs. This one was filled out easily on a phone as an example. 13.01.2022 Next weekends clinic still on! Keep an eye out for another further updates!

12.01.2022 Pony Club NSW has been monitoring advice from NSW Health and Federal Authorities in relation to the Public Health Act (COVID-19 Restrictions on Gathering & Move...ment) Order 2020 and the constantly changing situation. In light of the current restrictions and great uncertainty in when these restrictions will be eased, the Pony Club NSW Executive has made the difficult decision to cancel our Championship Events in July. This includes the State Showjumping and Jumping Equitation Championships hosted by Zone 10 from the 4th- 7th of July, and the State Dressage and Showriding Championships hosted by Zone 15 from the 10th 12th July 2020. This is of course extremely disappointing for the State and the Host Zones, after already cancelling the State Dressage and Showriding at the start of the year due to the bushfire crisis that impacted much of the state. For the State Dressage and Showriding Championships, riders will automatically receive a refund back onto the card they paid with, there will be nothing further you need to do. Due to the large number of event cancellations there may be a delay on refunds, however we are working closely with our event administrator to ensure this happens as quickly as possible, we thank you for your patience. We will continue to work towards providing alternative opportunities for our riders later in the year once the situation has eased. Until then, please keep on doing what you are doing follow public health orders, keep riding, learning, and thinking outside the box, and remember that we are all in this together.

11.01.2022 Please be advised that all state championships have been canceled up to and including state ode/combined training Any riders who have entered any of these events will receive a refund or if you were planning on entering an upcoming event please do not do so now

11.01.2022 Happy Easter from our family to yours! Wishing all our members and their families a wonderful, safe weekend filled with a few too many easter eggs! Goodluck on your egg hunts!

10.01.2022 Due to the current COVID-19 rules and regulations in place by the government and under the guidance of PCANSW, Helensburgh Pony Club has decided to postpone all events until further notice. We are saddened by this but must continue to protect our riders and their families. Stay happy and stay safe, HPBC President & Committee

10.01.2022 From Friday 15 May the NSW Government will begin to ease COVID-19 restrictions to allow outdoor gatherings of up to 10 people (full list can be found on the NSW... Government website here https://www.nsw.gov.au//what-you-can-and-cant-do-under-rul). Pony Club NSW is currently working with the Acting Minister for Sport, Sport NSW, NSW Heath Authorities, Pony Club NSWs Insurance Broker and Pony Club Australia to develop a return to sport plan that is specific to the unique needs of Pony Club. Once this document is finalised it will be circulated to our membership, however in the meantime please continue to obey all current public health orders that are applicable. We thank our members for following restrictions diligently and look forward to the return of Pony Club in the future. https://pcansw.org.au/media/news/covid-19-update-11-may-2020

07.01.2022 Due to constant rain overnight and now high winds we are cancelling today’s jump clinic

06.01.2022 The State One Day Event and Combined Training Schedule has now been released, with entries opening on the 17th of August. Due to Covid-19, entries may be ballot...ed but this will be on ranking, not a first come, first served basis. The Sporting and Campdraft Championship is open and ready to enter too, please check out MyPonyClub for more information. Entries close for Sporting & Campdraft on the 14th of August and again, we may need to ballot the event. Keep an eye out for the Mounted Games schedule this week too https://pcansw.org.au/events/state-interstate-events See more

06.01.2022 **Cancellation of State Championships** It is with enormous regret that Pony Club Association NSW advises of its decision to cancel all 2020 State Championships.... PCANSW had hoped to follow the revised schedule for 2020 to maintain an air of positivity for our sport, regrettably the time has come for us to concede that this is not possible. PCANSW have participated in a number of all-sport briefings with the NSW Government to receive the latest information from NSW Health and the Acting Minister of Sport. The advice at the last meeting was to avoid large, inter-regional championships. On Monday 17th August 2020, PCANSW received the advice of before the advice of the Chief Medical Officer, Dr Kerry Chant, which requested that all community sport organisations cease any activities that result in overnight stays due to increased risk of COVID transmission in these situations for a period of six (6) weeks commencing 19th August 2020. Three of the re-scheduled State Championship events fell within the six-week period to the which restrictions currently apply, with further events scheduled to occur with the 4 weeks following on from the current restriction. Acknowledging that this is a dynamic situation and recognising that the present restrictions are likely to be extended further, it was felt that the appropriate response would be to cancel all State Championship events for the remainder of 2020. This decision has not been made lightly as PCANSW recognises the broader responsibility we have to contribute positively to stop the transmission of COVID within NSW. PCANSW would like to recognise the enormous effort that goes into the planning and preparation of these events for organising committees, volunteers, competitors, and families. We understand that there will be disappointment because of this decision, however, it was felt that members would benefit most from clear directives for the remainder of 2020. 2020 has been a year that none of us will forget in a hurry, with drought, fires, flood and now COVID so affecting some many of our members, and now the cancellation of State Championships. PCANSW will now re-focus our activities towards providing further training and development opportunities for members for the balance of the year and planning for 2021.

06.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day to all the beautiful mummas in our club!! Even though this mothers day is a bit different to last years which was spent with members cow chasing at KingsField Stud, we hope you had an incredible day filled with love and family and possibly a glass of champagne or two !Sending love

06.01.2022 Zone 22 Mounted Games/ Team Sporting Day Saturday 15th August 2020 To be held at Woonona Pony Club 9.30 am $10 per rider ... Zone will be holding a mounted games/ team sporting day for all new and old riders who would like to come along and learn or refresh some skills under no pressure with no competition Riders who want to attend the state championships will be required to attend so that teams and orders can be confirmed All riders and attendees will be required to follow covid requirements for attendance For more information or entries please contact zone secretary

05.01.2022 Please see below link for an update from the Office of Sport and Dr Kerry Chant and attached information from Sport NSW, regarding non-essential travel within t...he state and its impact on community sport. As per Dr Chants recommendations the PCA NSW State Executive will conduct a full review on the viability of this years State Championships and confirm the outcome as soon as possible via a separate communication. However at this it is highly likely that all 2020 State Championships may be cancelled, not just those in to be held in the next six to eight weeks. As per the recommendations club activities may still go ahead under certain conditions as long as clubs have up to date Covid Safety Plans and complete a risk assessment for each activity to determine the risk to attendees regarding these recommendations. PCA NSW recommends that in addition to all Covid Safe Practices including staying home if you are unwell, restriction of participants from affected areas, social distancing and good hygiene attendees that attendees wear face masks when not riding, this includes all spectators and volunteers on the grounds. Clubs must cease any activities that result in overnight stays (camps) due to increased risk of COVID transmission with shared facilities. Ceasing of zone, regional or state championships or competitions for the next six weeks as these activities bring together participants including spectators and officials from different regions of the state. Riders who have nominated for the immediately affected State Championships will receive full refunds and nominations for further championships have been suspended until a risk assessment is completed by the State Executive for the balance of the years activities. Zones hosting Regional Schools, Instructor Schools and Assessments must review their Covid Safety Plans and risk assessments to determine the viability of the activity under these recommendations. As these activities have limits on attendees and do not include overnight stays/camping for participants they may go ahead with extra Covid precautions to be taken, including the wearing of face masks by all attendees when not riding. 04.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE Yesterday the NSW Chief Health Officer, Dr Kerry Chant, released advice recommending that, effective from Wednesday 19 August 2020, all communit...y sporting events that involve travel from other regions should cease. Please click on the link below to see the details. 01.01.2022 I am sure that you have all heard the media updates on easing of restrictions in NSW which is a very positive step in the right direction, however as yet there ...is no change to the restrictions imposed on sporting organisations. While this is disappointing for our members we need to ensure that we get it right the first time, NSW Health explains its process and preliminary findings about recovery time frames here. PCA NSW are working with the Acting Minister for Sport Dr Geoff Lee, the Office of Sport and other State Sporting Organisations (SSO) to ensure that the easing of restrictions for sport meet with NSW Public Health Orders. PCA NSW are working on risk assessment documentation and liaising with the above bodies to ensure a smooth transition once the frame work has been confirmed which we will circulate to members as soon as possible. Please note that this is not likely to occur by the weekend. The Office of Sport have formed a Recovery Group to help develop resumption of sport procedures and they will meet on Friday to discuss the proposed changes, phasing etc. therefore current Public Health Order restrictions are still in place and we cannot hold any face to face pony club activities and events. Instructors and riders may still work one on one however with the easing of restrictions a rider/horse may now travel to the instructors property to train. We also encourage Clubs and Zones to keep connected with their members via online and social media and we look forward to seeing the results of the many virtual rally days and competitions being shared online. PCA NSW will be circulating a survey to Clubs and Zones shortly and we urge Committee members to discuss the survey and respond accordingly to help provide a clear picture across the state. Kind regards Kerren Britton Executive Officer https://pcansw.org.au//news/covid-19-resumption-of-sport-u
