But these words are made of bone The letters Are placements of rib and femur and teeth and vertebrae i's with knee caps I collected them From puddles in boring towns where I lived for too long, And some from rotting pigs in a farmers landfill by the river I found some in a vodka Kalua and milk, and some snorting my step daughters ritalin I found some watching trains and some in the darkness I was always alone A dull ache on the soul I found them all, in great emptiness where it seems like nothing had ever lived They are in the corner of my mind In a coffee sack on an empty street exposed to the night wind the black street reflects an invisible moon

03.01.2022 On Sunday I was guna teach the world to sing and on Tuesday I was guna save the world from plastic beer can rings and on Friday I was a poor artist without any friends and Saturday came around I was guna teach English overseas On Tuesday I was meditating under a tree and in March I was planning war and anarchy and on Wednesday I was painting a bird set free and then I had a smoke, I loved smokes that day On Thursday I was a poet burning hardwood behind the railroad track and... on Friday I was driving a beat up Mercedes And on Saturday I did a burnout and crashed the Mercedes and hitched a ride to a sunnier town with friendlier stray dogs and tomorrow Well tomorrow I guess we'll wait and see But I hope the sun will rise I hope someone will say hi and buy me a coffee and spare a cigarette And I'll get a good job and have all the freedom any sane man would need and I can travel and speak about why school is bad to kids who don't listen to teachers And if I see you dish me out a high five cause lord know there ain't enough high fives going round these days See more
