01.01.2022 Local snake activity! Summer might be coming into its final few weeks, but it continues to be hot and dry. This appears to be having an impact on snake activit...y in our local area - especially snakes who may be seeking water (or prey near water). We experienced a spike in snake bite patients this weekend, & continue to have a couple of very sick patients in hospital. We would like to take the opportunity to remind our local community of this activity, and to please keep an eye on your pets. If you have any concerns about your pets health, please seek advice from a veterinarian immediately. Please also be aware, that although the majority of activity and patients came to us from the Maitland region - we also saw a patient from the Whitebridge (2290) area. Plus we have had reliable reports of brown snakes being sighted in the backyards of Charlestown!
