03.01.2022 #LIVE: New powers to protect Australias interests

03.01.2022 Today, your Liberal team, with a new generation of WA Liberal leadership in Zak Kirkup MP and Libby Mettam, demonstrated that this election is all about you. To...gether, your Liberal team is working for a safer, smarter today, so Western Australians have a brighter and better tomorrow. That means working constructively and following the advice of the Chief Health Officer to keep Western Australians safe from COVID-19. A future Liberal government will continue to follow the Chief Health Officer's advice and we will also make it open and transparent because we think Western Australians are mature enough and deserve to see this advice. This pandemic is not a political fight, there is only us together against the virus. But we know safety isn’t just about COVID, we need to do more to make people feel safer at home, in their communities and in their jobs. More police, tougher laws and fixing the hospital ambulance ramping crisis are a key part of our plan. We also need to make sure our seniors feel safer in their retirement, because they have already made such a significant contribution to our society and we respect that. Cutting taxes and reducing the cost of household bills will help families feel more financially safe and secure, giving them the confidence to invest to get ahead. Young people should feel empowered by the safety of a hand-up to help them get trained and into their first job, giving them the best possible start to their careers. Mums and dads who have left the workforce to raise their children and help their families get ahead should have the financial safety of knowing there are the opportunities to re-skill and up-skill to find rewarding jobs. We are 100% focused on the issues you have been talking to our team about, because that’s what matters. Together, your Liberal team will be working every minute between now and the election, in every seat, to deliver Western Australians a safer and smarter today, so we can all enjoy a brighter and better tomorrow.

02.01.2022 The Federal Government is actively making progress towards a free trade agreement with India to diversify our import and export markets. The nation has huge economic potential with one million young Indians turning 18 each month, entering the workforce and becoming adult consumers.

02.01.2022 Following Question Time today, I chaired the House of Representatives, during the debate on the Family Assistance Legislation Amendment (Improving Assistance for Vulnerable and Disadvantaged Families) Bill 2020. Politicians unable to travel to Canberra were allowed to participate by teleconference for the first time. The legislation relates to eligibility for the Additional Child Care Subsidy in respect of certain prescribed classes of children, such as foster children.

02.01.2022 Australian Gas is an important transitional fuel for powering the national economy into the future, whilst delivering affordable energy, keeping the lights on, and reducing our emissions.

01.01.2022 Is it time for a dedicated Performing Arts venue in Joondalup to be considered? A thriving Arts and Cultural community in Perths northern suburbs, will in turn support Joondalups hospitality sector with increased patronage of food and beverage service venues throughout our regional City. We must think outside the square and financially support our creative artists and performers.
