23.01.2022 Congratulation to all students that attended their grading at the dojo yesterday. Great energy in all 3 gradings :) Thank you to parents and students that have all been very understanding and supportive in these challenge times.

22.01.2022 Dear IGKS Member We are now entering phase 3 in WA from the 06/06-20! This is a great sign that the community is doing great and we have collectively been working together to minimize the impact on our health system. ... What happens now? With the further easing of restrictions mandated by the Government we can now go back and run our classes as normal. We have decided as a club, that we still want to do our part, and to the best of our ability provide a training facility that has minimum risk. What is changed compared to phase 2? 1. We can now invite parents back in to the dojo to watch the classes as long as they retain the social distancing of 1.5m between others and practice great hand hygiene. 2. We will introduce elbow bumps as a substitute to high fives. 3. We can now tie belts again :) 4. We will slowly reintroduce partner drills but will limit the time spent working with a partner. 5. There are no changes in regards to training fees 6. We are still providing free private online classes that can be booked through the online training groups. We are excited to see so many of our students back training! Thank you so much for being part of our great club. Sensei Andy And the IGKS team

18.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We wanted to give you an update regarding the global Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. At IGKS our primary concern always has been the health and wellbeing of our members and team, and we are fully committed to continuing providing you with as safe and as clean as possible training environment.... A key theme in the information being delivered by health professionals and experts is reinforcing the common knowledge that getting good sleep, eating healthy and maintaining regular exercise, are all essential steps to ensure your immune system is at its best and not compromised. Below are the measures we have taken as well as some advice on how you can best protect yourself and your fellow peers. Actions we are taking: - We always maintain regular professional cleaning services at our centres. - Each day we are regularly sanitising high-frequency touchpoints like doors, door handles, bathrooms and toilets, sitting areas, equipment, and reception to minimise risk. - We have advised all team members to follow the guidance issued by health organisations with regards to self-isolation in the event of any symptoms. - We are displaying guidance notes from the Department of Health in our centres on how to minimise the risk of infection. - We have appropriate measures ready on standby if the situation arose where any cases came into contact with the dojo. - We are working on additional solutions to help you maintain your health and wellbeing, which the current situation is highlighting the importance of. How you can help: - Frequently and thoroughly clean your hands with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitiser. - When coughing and sneezing cover mouth and nose with a tissue or flexed elbow, throw the tissue away immediately and wash hands. - Refrain from touching your mouth and nose. - Maintain a distance of at least 1 metre from anyone who has cold or flu-like symptoms. - If you become unwell or develop any cold or flu-like symptoms, we ask you to not attend class until feeling better for the health of those around you. - The World Health Organisation website is an excellent resource with regards to general hygiene advice and recommendations, many of which are listed in the points above. We take the health and safety or each of our clients and team members very seriously as we understand it is a critical piece in developing resilience against illness and disease. We are working hard to try and minimise any disruption to you so that you may continue to train safely and keep looking after your health and wellbeing through our strong and supportive community.

16.01.2022 Sadly, in light of current events we have had to shut the doors to our dojos from midday 23/03-20 as mandated by the Australian Government. Your health, fitness and ongoing karate training continue to be our number one priority. Just because you are unable to train in the dojo that doesn’t mean your journey to black belt and beyond ends here or even needs to go on pause. Our team has been working hard to bring together an at-home training program to keep you learning, sharpe...n your skills, keep fit, healthy and strong during this challenging time. In the last couple of weeks, we have been setting up an online group where we can continue to build on your karate knowledge and skills health while providing the same supportive environment from the comfort of your own home. We will need your support so we can continue to provide you with great karate classes. 3 days a week we will be bringing to you a new live online class with our awesome and dedicated instructors! During these times it's so important to stay active and keep your immunity up! All memberships will be automatically rolled across to our new remote-based offering as of today, and your payment plan will be reduced by 50% If you are finding yourself in a situation where you are unable to continue with your membership, then please notify us of your desire to suspend it via email and we look forward to welcoming you back when our doors re-open. If you are able to, we do ask for your continued loyalty to stick with us and support us and each other during this time. There may be times of certainty or concern for you in the coming weeks, and perhaps even months, but it is with our strong Karate community all working together and supporting one another that we can keep each other fit, healthy and sane!We will have classes for all levels from kanga to adults and lots of fun extras as we roll it out over the next few weeks. We are all in in this together and with health being your best asset in the current climate, we look forward to continuing to build on your fitness and being a part of our awesome and supportive IGKS community, virtually. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions. Stay safe! Ooss, Sensei Andy International Goju Karate Schools Willetton, South Perth, Victoria park and Maddington

04.01.2022 TO ALL OUR VALUED MEMBERS! You may have seen or heard that the restrictions for indoor sport have been relaxed by the WA Government and come into effect on Monday the 18th of May. Because of this amazing news we are announcing the reopening of our Willetton Dojo!... WHAT WILL THE CLASSES LOOK LIKE We are currently working through our plan for reopening the dojos. However, given the restrictions on equipment sharing, class sizes and space, there will need to be some changes in the way we operate to ensure we stay safe while teaching our classes. Keep an eye out for these changes to be announced in the coming days. WILL THERE BE CLASSES ON MAY THE 18TH Yes! Classes at Willetton will be returning to their regularly timetabled classes. We encouraged all students from each location to join these classes! WHEN WILL OTHER LOCATIONS REOPEN As South Perth, Vic Park and Maddington are not full time locations and are hired halls it is up to the hall managers about whether or not they will be reopening. We are unsure of how long it may be for other locations to reopen but we will be sure to keep you posted. WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH ONLINE LEARNING Online learning will continue three days a week as is currently with Sensei Toha for those who are unable to attend the classes down at Willetton dojo. WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL AGAIN VERY SOON!! *Please comment any questions and we will be sure to answer
