24.01.2022 The Saturday Sessions are on and happening this Saturday! The shed will be open from 1pm until 4pm, $10.00 shed fee for members. There are 6 spaces left if you want to come along get in touch and let us know at [email protected]... We hope to see you there for a great clay afternoon.

Come and meet long time member, Anne Marion who will be demonstrating throwing pots off the hump on Saturday 17th August (if you don't know what that is come and see!) 22.01.2022 Regular all inclusive morning classes with Rebeka from TerraPotta on Monday and Tuesday from 9.30 for 2 hrs. Don't bring clay don't bring tools just bring yourself along and relax while you learn the skill of wheel throwing in a relaxed friendly environment. Clay and tools are provided and you will have the attention you need to really harness this art as there are only 4 spots available. Bookings are essential! ... Email [email protected] for more.

22.01.2022 We had a blast at Viva La Gong today! We had a stall, demonstrators on pottery wheels, and hand building activities for the kids!

21.01.2022 Come and join us for a fun evening in the pottery shed to celebrate the end of another year with your fellow Illawarra Potters members! WHEN: Monday 3rd December from 7pm WHERE: The pottery shed BRING: a plate of food and a little item you’ve made.... We’ll have a snack and do a lucky pottery dip with something we’ve all made (don’t worry if you don’t think your work is good enough - its just about having a bit of fun). There’ll also be a blindfolded throwing comp for anyone who would like to take part and its a nice way to finish off the year!

06.01.2022 Learn the fundamentals of firing an electric kiln over 2 nights, ending in the packing of the kiln and a group glaze firing. Taught by Barry Moane, you’ll learn: Types of Firings, Kiln Types, Electric wiring, Controllers, Packing the kiln, Bisque firings, Glaze firings On Monday 28th May bring in a few bisqued and glazed pieces for a 1080C firing where the class will pack the kiln for a earthenware firing.... 06.01.2022 On Saturday drop in to the Illawarra Potters for our popular soup day - simply buy a bowl and get free soup! Beth Crawford always has plenty of beautiful bowls to sell at a great price but she is also well known for her sculpture work!

05.01.2022 Saturday Sessions are starting up again this Sat 7th Feb, so for $10 come from 1 - 4pm and use the space to make your own creations like these plates by our workshop manager, Annie Coroners!

05.01.2022 With regret due to the COVID-19 situation we are all facing, to keep our community safe we will shut down the Pottery Studio this Friday 27th March until further notice. We ask you enter the studio from today until only to retrieve your work and belongings. From today until Friday please contact a key holder to let you in to the studio if you need to pick up anything. After Friday there will be no access to the studio. We will reassess opening after Easter if the situation... changes. There will be no monthly meetings held on the premises until further notice. If you are visiting the premises - Please practice social distancing by keeping at least 1.5 m apart whilst using the studio - Wash your hands with soap regularly - Please limit the areas and surfaces you come in contact with - Please wipe/wash down those areas you have come into contact with before you leave. If you do go to the studio to pick up your work,please ensure that you take the following extra items - Your own hand sanitiser - Your own personal cleaning products such as soap - Your own cleaning products to clean down the spaces you have used such as sponges, disinfectant and towels - Please wash down all spaces you have touched - As always we ask you to clean the toilet it you have used it. Please be safe and have fun at home with your clay! 04.01.2022 Saturday Session is on again next Saturday 22nd Feb 1pm - 4pm. For $10 come in and make your own creations using the slab roller or pottery wheel!
