24.01.2022 !! We recently had a client come to us from another accountant with a number of years of tax outstanding. We soon discovered that over this time the client had tripled their profits but had received little guidance from their previous accountants and were trading out of a structure that both wasn’t efficient from a tax perspective or ideal for protecting their personal assets. We met with the clients and were able to plan a restructure the business whi...ch will save them up to $10,000 in tax each year going forward while at the same time better protecting their personal assets should a situation occur against the business. 17.01.2022 , ? ..... In order to avoid being liable for fringe benefits tax employers should ensure that the total cost of their Christmas party doesn’t exceed $300 per person. Thankfully this doesn’t just count staff, so if you in...vite staff partners to your end of year celebrations these people are included in the total number of guests when calculating the total cost per person. While tax deductions are nice it is important to remember that you will only ever receive a portion of your money spent back in the form of tax savings. Deductible expenses allow you to reduce your taxable income by the amount spent resulting in a tax saving equal to the tax rate the income would have been taxed at. So, for example an individual ear...ning $185,000 that spends $100 on a deductible expense would save themselves $45 in tax, meaning they have spent $100 to save $45.
