21.01.2022 Have had the best weekend of training, and I am so looking forward to bring Neurological Integration (NIS) to my clinical practice. With naturopathy we assess and treat the body as a whole, NIS assesses the neurological pathways of the body and identifies possible weaknesses.

21.01.2022 We have a chalkboard outside the clinic, and each week there is an inspiration posted on it. This weeks 'Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined.' Henry Thoreau. Now I have plenty of dreams that I could let go and a few I'm holding on to and striving to find the direction to bring them to life. The year has started of in the right direction and for that I'm thankful. ... What dreams are you confidently heading for?

20.01.2022 Taking time to reflect and plan for the coming year. This is the beginning of a new chapter for me. I am taking a break from a fixed clinical practice to travel, enjoy time with my family, experience new adventures and recharge! Might have to try to tick off the 50 things on the pic below as I go. ... So for those that need an appointment before Christmas get in quick those last few spots are filling fast. image - https://kindnessblog.com//50-ways-to-take-a-break-self-ki/ Karen Horneffer-Ginter

19.01.2022 Autumn is officially here, even though Melbourne weather is changing daily, which means a new season of fruit and veg is available. This list covers the whole rainbow, yum!

19.01.2022 Now this is a hard choice Books, wine, eo's (as herbs and flower essences aren't on the list) What 3 would you choose?

19.01.2022 Weird and wonderful produce when you grow your own. Tastes better too I think. I do not need my fruit and veg to look perfect, I want it to taste great and be packed full of nutrients.

18.01.2022 Sunday night is generally leftovers night in our house. Tonight's version is homemade pizzas. Each kid has a fave topping Miss11 is the standard Hawaiian add capsicum and mushroom; while Miss 8 is a bit of spice using salsa as the sauce with green peas, pineapple, capsicum and a slice of pepperoni. For me its roasted pumpkin, feta, mushroom and curry chicken. ... What is your family having for dinner?

18.01.2022 I can't wait back, in clinic as of next Tuesday! Returning to Unwind Challis St, Newport. Book online. See you soon.

18.01.2022 There is a cold snap coming this weekend! Stay warm. Lots of hot tea might be called for. Im currently drinking a delicate blend of Kawakawa, ginger and lemongrass. Tell me your favourite tea blend.

17.01.2022 We love eating in season produce. Currently munching our way through delicious Cara Cara oranges from Fresh Citrus Direct.

13.01.2022 Happy Father's Day to all. It's a different day of celebrating for many of us, especially Victorians, but mother nature has turned on a spectacular day. Make the most of it any way you can. ... A walk, lunch, a video call with the man of the day, or maybe a moment in the sun remembering those we can't be with. I've chosen to listen to an audiobook in the garden, I am away from all fathers in my life today and am thankful to them all for being in my life - how about you?

13.01.2022 I always recommend my 'mum' patients take time for themselves. You do your best work when you are happy and healthy. One of my fave ways to recharge is having a cuppa with a friend. Whats your time out to recharge fave?

11.01.2022 Eating a rainbow of foods boosts the natural antioxidants and immune boosters helping to keep us going through winter. I am currently taking part in a challenge to eat 50 unique plant based foods in a week. To succeed will challenge my meal planning and halfway through day 2 I have already had 25 unique plant based foods. Spices and teas count, but only once! ... How many unique plant based foods have you eaten today?

10.01.2022 I am looking forward to what 2018 might uncover. I have had an amazing year of travel and new adventure over here in the USA. I am returning to Melbourne in February and looking forward to getting back into clinic and other endeavours. With Food and Spirit(TM) and introducing Reiki sessions, I hope to see you in the clinic for your pre-winter boosts soon. Happy New Year!

09.01.2022 Im watching 'The Great Australian Bee Challenge' ABC, and learning a lot. I have been keen to get a hive in our backyard for years and have really noticed less bees around this summer.

09.01.2022 Watching Fats v's Sugar on SBS. A little flawed at this point in that the high fat diet has no fruit or vegetable consumption. A diet with good fat level has been shown to have good health benefits and a high sugar diet is well known to be detrimental long term. ... I will be interested in how the program plays out. Cutting out any food group can be concerning but certainly a moderate diet based on fresh fruit, vegetables, proteins and fat is a good foundation for us all.

09.01.2022 In the last few weeks my personal FB feed has been full of 'Back to School' Snack hacks - some great ideas like having a pocket organiser on the pantry door or days of the week trays with pre-prepped snacks. The fridge drawer in this post is fab! a few extra minutes after shopping to get the bundles made up, and with healthy choices the kids can make their own lunch boxes. What tips do you have for making lunchbox prep easier?

09.01.2022 Kids with life threatening allergies are just like any other kid. They love to play, read, make things and eat great tasting food. Yet the last one can cause a high level of anxiety just to keep them safe. Always happy to have a chat about food allergies and increasing awareness and reducing incidents.

08.01.2022 I love the platypus riding on broccoli, & a catchy little tune! This will be in my head all day

04.01.2022 Looking for an alternative for the 6pm news, listen to a sonnet a day.

02.01.2022 Introducing Sara, for all of you in Adelaide and surrounds with those gorgeous bubs who are just not sleeping as peacefully as the could. Sara is a midwife and mum to 5 fabulous kids of her own & knows every trick in the book.

01.01.2022 R U OK? So much has happened this year that is out of our control. One thing we can be in control of is checking in with each other - send a text, give them a call or schedule a zoom coffee break.... However you choose to check in, be prepared to continue the conversation if they are feeling out of sorts. You don't have to be an expert to keep the conversation going, and be supportive.
