22.01.2022 End of day 2 at Heron Island recap - went on the rainforest walk and had morning tea and a cool off at shark bay! After lunch we all went snorkelling all the way out to the shipwreck, we were swimming with sharks, stingrays, parrot fish, clams, turtles and many other little fish! We had some pool swimming in the afternoon before taking a stroll along the beach looking out for turtle hatchlings! The kids have had a awesome day
20.01.2022 We are on the road home! Just left Gladstone! Will be stopping in Taroom for tea!
08.01.2022 Day 3 at Heron - 7 days since we left home! We had plans to go in the semisubmersible boat but the weather had other plans! The kids got to enjoy a movie and some down time in the morning before lunch! After lunch they went on a tour of the research centre! We had afternoon tea and some more much needed downtime! Tonight we are going to have a sing along!
05.01.2022 There was some excitement in the camp this morning out the front of Mr Edwards room was a 30 year old turtle hard at work laying eggs! All the kids got to witness this amazing once in a lifetime nature at its best!
04.01.2022 Hi everyone - internet was very sketchy last night so didn’t get to give you all an update! We are currently on the boat back to mainland. Yesterday the kids got to go on the semi-submersible boat and got to have a real in depth look at the coral and ocean animals! They spent most of the afternoon swimming in the pool! A couple of students went on the early morning snorkel! Last night after dinner we had a talent quest - and the acts were amazing! This morning we packed our bags and after breakfast the kids had some classroom activities they had to do while we waited for the ferry! The bus will be waiting for us on the marina today we will have a short stretch of the legs and then we Will be our merry way back to the dry red dirt country!
