24.01.2022 My 14 year old, Jayme Cullen is learning to drive and how to handle a manual car at IWMAC - Ipswich West Moreton Auto Club Inc. She has been doing this since sh...e turned 14 years old and today she learned what happens when you push to far and go too fast. She had a spin and the car turned and went backwards through a drain and up an embankment. Jayme is fine and walked away without a scratch and was attended to by the on site Medic immediately. I have pushed my girls to do this as a way for them to learn how to handle a car and understand the limits of any vehicle. For us it is not about racing, but the idea is to better your own time each round, which she did really quickly even closing in on Chloe Cullen time within 9 seconds after 2 rounds. A small offline created the drama for Jayme and with very little knowledge on how to control the car she spun out. This is the skills that not very many learn these days and when this happens on the streets, someone normally gets badly hurt, hence the poor driving we all see regularly. We will fix the car and get her back on the track to keep learning and driving. At least when my girls get their drivers licence i know that they will be the safest they can be with a great understanding of their vehicles and road conditions even if it is dirt and hopefully we never receive horrible news that they have not survived a car crash. They will also know that there is a time a place go to fast and it will be on a Racetrack not the roads. There is no reason these days to do anything on the roads with all the Racetracks around and surprisingly very affordable events to attend with so much support including medics. A HUGE Thank you to the IWMAC team for their quick action and support. Awesome Club with safety first. See more

09.01.2022 Had itchy feet between club rounds so decided to go for a road trip out to Proston for there 2 day khanacross event . Had an awesome weekend representing our ...club ( and hopefully encouraging some locals to head down to visit us next year) As the car is awd their rules stated that I couldn’t compete in ladies class so was thrown into the deep end with big guns in open ( E class for us ) 2 days , 12 rounds over 4 tracks - accumulative times and penalties in place . Came away with 3rd in OPEN. ( EVO TOOK 1st and 2nd with a father son duo sharing the car) The little non turbo RS did me proud - Gotta be happy with that! Also the cherry on top - 4th outright from 63 cars! Hopefully did us all proud and put Ipswich on the map to the Sunshine Coast drivers and we see some of them come for a sprint next year Can’t wait for Sunday’s special event - see you all then Admins delete if not allowed

09.01.2022 Hi guys, our next event on Saturday 5 December is a Day Night event and is open on the website now. It is also our awards night and dinner. This year we have had to do things a little different due to Covid. We are using a caterer to supply dinner. If you have entered for racing for the event, the cost of your meal is included in the entry fee. For all other people who would like a meal the cost is $12.50 per person. For catering purposes we need to know numbers by 30 November. Like the event, meals must be pre-payed into the Club account. All details are on the Event on the Club website. If you have not advised and paid of additional people then there will not be a meal available for them. Looking forward to another great event. Cheers Greg.

08.01.2022 First 4 runs today

08.01.2022 I have put up photos I took on 19th July, sorry if there is not one of your car as I was very busy, will try harder next time. Cheers Sam

07.01.2022 All, results are up after a very hot, dusty day. The slippery conditions, and changes for the three tracks caught a few out including Paul Bond and Josh Newson who both took early penalties. Some notable performances: Dave Smith - A Class winner, fastest 2WD and 5th outright, Craig Newell, 2nd in A Class and 7th OR and Barry Clark, 1st in B Class and 8th OR, Tim Easterman in the Turbo Swift taking C Class an 10th OR and Nikki Duclos getting the win over Stephanie Muston an...d Dianne Feldman in ladies, to turn the tables on the other events this year. Father/son combo of Jeff and Etahn Kilbride in the pretty GB Gallant were separated by only 1.1 secs at the end - Dad had better watch out next time. A good event, in some horrible weather, so thanks to the flaggies, starter, Cam Jay in the canteen, Donny, Coggo for the track prep and Sam for the permits etc and Greg for being Greg. Also many thank to Ben Watkins for doing the majority of the timing today, much appreciated to give a second person to take over if Bondy is away. See more

06.01.2022 Runs 1 and 2. On run 3 doing the crossover from auticross to dirt sprint track.

05.01.2022 Hi all, results are on the web. Was a great day with 6 runs at 4 laps each, so plenty of track time. Special thanks to Ben Watkins for helping/learning the timing. It is always great to highlight the FTD, so Ant Bonnici put in a cracking 42.77 to take that title. But also great to see people like Nikki Duclos having a red hot go in a non WRX N/A Subaru, and also Stephanie Muston putting in what is probably her fastest time so far, and pushing it hard. New Junior (on the t...rack, but has been around with the family) Jayme Cullen knocked 10 seconds off her flying laps with a 53 second last lap piece of brilliance. For the classes, Dave Smith did an identical time to the last meeting to win A class with a 46.73, I kid you not (and 8th OR). B class had 1.1 second covering the top 5, with Tim Crase edging out Barry Clark by 0.02 seconds to be 9th and 10th OR. Ric Ganderton was 3rd, but left after RD 3 with lots of blue smoke, so hopefully just a lose filter or oil line. Josh Newson and Chloe Cullen were the ones who were at the bottom end of that 1.1 seconds.C Class not as close, but Robert Clark punted the lovely Orange Escort MK1 (Mexico?) to a win over Mark Davies and the nice, and loud, RX2 of David Ovenden. D class saw the return of the Paul Bond Datsun 510, to take its first win in 10 years (following rebuild) to be 4th OR and best RWD, with Andrew Pierce about 0.5 behind in the Focus XR5 and Nathan Trenear next in the big 5.7 VX Commodore. Juniors saw the Crase family take a double with Emma winning over Ethan Kilbride, Billy O'Niel in the unusual RWD N/A Imprezza, Tristan Newson in the BMW and as above, Jayme Cullen. Ladies saw Stephanie Muston over Nikki Duclos. E class saw the top three OR with Ant, Wayne Poulier and Alan Weinert the top. As always thanks to Greg, Sam, Donny, Peter, Kevin, Cam the Motorsport Australia officials and everyone who helped in any way. Cheers, Paul. Results are on the web. See more

04.01.2022 Results from today are on the website. Fast track, some great times and only 1/10 between winner Ant Bonnici and Wayne Poulier, and an excellent 4th OR to Jeff Kilbride in the 4AG 20V FWD Levin, with a 44.47 versus Ants' 42.79. Marc Wilson also unleashed the JP Hewitson Mk2 Escort (after doing some work on it recently) with a 45.26 and 2nd 2WD, 5th OR. The track was well prepared and fast, with a few people putting in personal bests. Couple of spins (including Bondy) and an unusual incident for Emma Crase, but she bounced back. Speaking of the juniors, Ethan Kilbride took the win (47.16) from Billy O'Neil (47.60), Emma (47.77), William Harris (48.11) and Jayme Cullen, who retired after the 4th run. Just under a second between 1st and 4th, good job Thanks to all the club officials as always, and to the Motorsport Australia Stewards.

03.01.2022 Results from today on the website. Some very close results. C Class saw 0.32 between 3rd placed Connor McLean from (dad) Cameron McLean, in 2nd with Stephen Hetherman in the RX7 taking the class win. A class saw Dave Smith take 4/10s from Craig Newell in a "big" gap. D class saw Danny Iken take a 6/10s win, but 2nd to 5th saw Nathan Trenear (47.33), Andrew Pearce (47.38), Greg Woodbridge (47.55) and Kristiaan Amos (47.63) covered by 0.3 secs. The Juniors put on their usual... great show with William Harris 4th (48.97), Ethan Kilbride (48.48), Billy O'Neil (47.84) and Emma Crase taking the win by a scant 0.01 seconds. How close do you want your junior racing??? Ladies saw Steph Muston take the win in the WRX by 0.6 secs from Nikki Duclos in the non turbo Impreza RS. B Class also saw Barry Clark in 3rd with a 46.98, JP Hewitson punted his Escort (2nd outing only) to a 46.63 to be well and truly beaten by 0.05 secs by Tim Crase, providing a family double with Emma. The 4WDs turned on the heat to take the top six OR positions, with 3rd to Alan Weinert, 2nd to Ant Bonnici, after a run home to get a spare tyre, with Wayne Poulier putting in a cracking 43.38 to have a 4/10s win, and break the WRX drought. Thanks to all the officials, and from what I heard everyone had an enjoyable day with 5 runs of 4 laps each time. See more
