23.01.2022 I've had such a great response from yesterday's Anzac Day letterbox sign that i've decided make a few more for those that will be participating in their 'at home vigil' this year. 22.01.2022 *** We are currently closed for business *** How crazy to think my page has been up and running for 6 years! What started off in 2013 as a small business creating invitations for special occasions soon evolved to a chalk art business in 2015. Since then I have had a multitude of customers all over Australia. Birthday chalkboards, wedding chalkboards, special occasion chalkboards, business chalkboards..... .you name a chalkboard, I've done it. After 4 years though, working ful...l time in a corporate job as well as running a chalk art business on the side has taken its toll. As a creative it is important to still take time for yourself; to create, experiment and evolve. Unfortunately I have not been able to do so for a few years and I've become stuck in a cycle of creating but not enjoying. After some reflection, Alan & I have decided that with a heavy heart that 'The Creative Eden' will take a break for the remainder of 2019. With the aim to re-coup, refresh and come back bigger and better. A big thank-you to all my supporters; we would not be who we are today without you. 16.01.2022 While we were on a little break last year, the non creative/logistic member of 'The Creative Eden' (aka my partner in crime/my sanity/my other half) decided to pop the question! I finally got to use my hand lettering skills for an event of my own to create some beautiful finishing touches for our engagement party. Hand lettering, paper flowers and a DIY neon sign - I went all out! Here are a couple of pics of some of the creations which made a great personal touch to our party. Who else feels that they have had a one of a kind morning that they will never forget? Where in such a confusing and uncertain time, neighbourhoods have come together to pay respect and remember the fallen that have served our country and I think that moment is pretty damn special. For me s...tanding in my driveway at 5.30am and looking left and right and seeing almost every driveway filled with neighbours lighting up the dawn, the effort of them making handmade poppies, signs, and makeshift flagpoles, my neighbour 3 doors down playing the last post on his trumpet and the eerie 1 minute silence where all you could hear were the kookaburras was special and I will never forget! I also loved hearing from my beautiful clients, seeing their photos and hearing the beautiful memories they have created themselves to pay their respects.
