23.01.2022 Anais is half French & Half Spanish, Eddie is Aussie. They met through Eddie's brother who was down in Sydney and had Anais as their Au Pair while she was on a working visa. The rest is history! During the wedding planning process Anais & Eddie found out they were going to be having a beautiful baby boy which made the wedding celebrations with family even more special. 21.01.2022 A couple of weeks have passed already since this sweet day, I couldnt resist sharing a sneak at the magic thats on my computer today! Lisa and Steve chose to recite their personal vows to each other privately after the ceremony once their guests had left to enjoy cocktail hour, perfect for those who arent quite comfortable to do so at the ceremony but it still makes for a beautiful memory. 21.01.2022 Im just going to leave this here.. I cant wait to share some super exciting news with you all that has been in the making for a good part of this year! Keep your eyes peeled on our socials over the next week I hope you all had the most amazing Christmas and are enjoying some down-time with your families (and ALLLLL the food!). I officially shot my last wedding for 2019 yesterday and of course it has prompted so many feelings of gratitude and happiness about the last 12 mo...nths, as well as a bit of reflection on challenges and learning opportunities that came up. 19.01.2022 I think elopements and intimate weddings are going to be the norm for a while and im 100% here for it. I love them! Introducing to you, Catherine & Seamus, the most adorable couple ever who gave me the honour of capturing their super intimate elopement at Mount Quincan Crater Retreat up on the Tablelands. With just Catherines Mother & Seamus Brother as witnesses, these two were so excited to get married, and made it official with a simple yet emotional ceremony. These two... lovers are super relaxed and just adored being in each others company. They love adventuring around together every chance they get, and Seamus proposed to Catherine at Uluru! Before the wedding they mentioned how they were definitely not comfortable in front of the camera and were not sure how theyd go on the day, but oh my - their photographer & I barely had to say a thing to help or direct them on their creative session. 18.01.2022 Jamie & Aaron are the ultimate pair, and that was so clear in every little part of their big day. Their entire wedding took place on Jamie's Auntie & Uncles property in Ravenshoe up in the Tablelands. A lot of the decor had been hand-created, DIY'd or landscaped in some way to make Jamie & Aaron's Wedding dream come true. All of the sunflowers that were used throughout the set-up and in the bouquets were grown there, the ceremony chairs were made for that purpose. All of ...this and more made every little detail so incredibly special. About a month before their wedding I met with Jamie to go over their plans and she told me that she was hoping to ride into the ceremony on a horse, what!? I was so excited for this, and even more excited hearing about the amazing line-up of vendors she'd chosen to work with. Despite some nerves beforehand, Jamie rode that horse in like she did it every day! When you get along with the bridal party so well and enjoy lots of laughs, share some tears listening to the emotional vows, get to have amazing pizza for dinner & enjoy a night of dancing and warming up by a campfire... how can it not be a highlight of the year!? 16.01.2022 This Valentines Day I thought I’d share a bit of my own love story & some super exciting news... we’re getting married!!! On the last dayof the Tasmania leg of our trip, Will sneakily booked us in at Eagles Nest Retreat and once we arrived (and I’d had time to recover after being blown away by the property and the views ) he revealed a 1992 vintage - our birth year - bottle of Moët champagne that we bought together whilst travelling around France 4 years ago - it was a t...otal shock that he managed to bring it to Tassie without me finding out! After a relaxing drink in the spa he then treated me to the most INCREDIBLE grazing board made up by our private chef, Nick. Once the sun began to set Will took me up the hill on the property to ‘get a really cool sunset video’ Good job getting me to film my own surprise engagement Will! We’ve been together a little over 5 years now and I couldn’t have imagined a better way for him to pop the question & everything he planned was a total surprise to me! He gave me all my favourite things in one day and I felt (& feel) so spoilt and loved. Since then we’ve enjoyed our little love buzz and the rest of our holiday. 7 weeks all up it’s been since leaving Cairns to road trip our way around Australia, we get back home today & I’m so excited to celebrate the news in person with family and friends! https://youtu.be/rYnPfbjpOWk

15.01.2022 Pass the tequila!! Steph & Ryan are such a fun, friendly pair and we really felt like one of the gang hanging out with the bridal party and capturing their wedding! These two met each other at work and quickly became close, this blossomed into romance and here we are at their epic wedding which was so unique to them and their relationship. Ryan is jewish and so they incorporated lots of traditional elements of this into their ceremony and reception, I was so excited for some ...new experiences after talking with them in meetings prior to the big day. Right from the second we arrived we were greeted with hugs and smiles, didn't stop laughing & constantly in awe of how amazing every little detail of this day panned out. It was the perfect mix of fun & laughter but also showed off their romantic & mushy sides. At the base of it all these two are best friends and quite clearly made for each other. 15.01.2022 This still remains one of the most emotional moments i’ve been able to capture on video. If you haven’t yet seen it, Kalara surprised her Dad during their Father/Daughter Dance by pre-recording her singing their song. His reaction when he realises it’s actually his daughter singing is priceless. My hands were shaking so much during this, SO glad I had the camera on the gimbal! This was not a handheld moment!! 15.01.2022 So, put me in a scenario where you've got some of the best creatives I know all doing their thing - should be an easy gig right!? Well.. I actually found it so hard to edit this! Obviously, weddings are pretty much all I shoot, and as someone who purely uses a couple's real story, heartfelt words and love as my inspiration when editing, I had to find my way through this somehow. I was incredibly happy with what I captured but why when I sat in my editing chair why did I com...e up blank? I changed the music a zillion times, and tried things that I hated and changed. I wanted to challenge myself given the freedom that styled shoots offer, but I also wanted to make something amazing. This was my first time editing a video for a styled shoot and I found it so hard to get out of a 'you have to please the client' mindset! Once I let that go and just dove in, I was able to fall into my thoughts and do what felt right, experimenting, playing and just having fun with it! My aim was for it to be dramatic, and get you hooked. The beauty of the dresses and models, tied in sync with some moody and punchy music is what guided me through the edit. I captured so much footage I could make 100 versions of these, but I kept it at just one short amazing clip that hopefully still makes you feel something! Please watch with sound. 14.01.2022 I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter couple to shoot as my last for 2020! After a postponement from their meant-to-be date in June, they finally got to have their dream day a little under 2 weeks ago. I was honoured to be picked up along the way to capture their celebration; and it was perfect. . . 13.01.2022 Well if this wasn't my dream elopement, I don't know what is! A perfect example of "your day, your way" Like almost every couple who was meant to get married this year, Jess & Jeff's original wedding plans didn't go to plan, but these lovers then decided to elope & get hitched in beautiful Port Douglas, instead just the two of them, with a small group of talented local vendors to help make their vision come to life - and capture it for those who couldn't come! There's someth...ing extra special about these super intimate weddings, and another level of emotion seems to hit me. There has been more couples eloping this year, for obvious reasons, but I really do see a trend forming! There's no stress from anyone - just excitement & happiness. J & J both got ready together in the stunning tropical villas at Niramaya Resort & Spa, and then we took them down to Little Cove by the sea for their ceremony. Their personalised vows were so pure, with the perfect mix of humour and sweetness. I cried, a lot. Everything about this beautiful Monday was so 'them', including the little doughnut break we snuck in after the Ceremony! A few days before the wedding on a sunset cruise J & J met a bunch of ladies who insisted on coming to watch their ceremony, and became their official petal throwers! It was so beautiful to see strangers so happy to celebrate their first moments of being Husband & Wife! I was buzzing with love and excitment for these two (and still am!), it was definitely a day to remember & they'll I'm sure they'll remember me with my signature on their wedding certificate for life! 10.01.2022 Lindsey and Ben have travelled and adventured all over the world together over the last 11 years & were finally able to celebrate their wedding in their home town of Port Douglas with their nearest and dearest friends and family, and even their beautiful boy Jet. When I first met them they were wanting something super relaxed but also a fun huge party, and it was definitely that! With the threat of rain around in the morning, there were a few nerves in the air. Lindsey had a... dramatic walk down the aisle with a short downpour coming down just as she walked around the corner and Ben saw her in her dress! This moment brought me to tears behind the camera and she absolutely owned it, it was quite the entrance! The rain stopped shortly after meeting with Ben at the end and they had the most perfect afternoon & sunset afterwards while enjoying drinks with great company on the deck of the Sugar Wharf. 10.01.2022 Time for a holiday! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas! We sure ate our fair share of all the foods & were so lucky to be able to spend the day with family. 07.01.2022 With the new government restrictions that came into effect last night, weddings for the foreseeable future will be limited to the bare legal minimum of 5 people. - Two humans in love - A celebrant - Two witnesses... For those who just really still just want to marry, but can't have guests, your witnesses can be your videographer & photographer who can still capture your love becoming official (from a safe distance) and you'll have a film to show everyone who couldn't be there. Laura & Zaid's elopement was just that, I was a witness and signed their marriage certificate for them, which was a huge honour. I can either arrange a simple video of just your ceremony, so those close to you can watch it exactly how it was, or do something more creative with just the two of you like these lovers did! Feel free to get in touch if you are still eloping/getting legally married in the coming months and would like to talk about ceremony video options. - - - - For those who need to look at postponing to next year.. I understand in the uncertainty a lot of you will be looking to postpone your big weddings (who could blame you, parties are still the best! especially when you've worked so hard on planning it), so on behalf of all suppliers we ask you to considering working as much as you can with your wedding dream team, and coming up with a new date to celebrate together so that everyone is still available for you. All of us are here ready to help and will be able to transfer any retainers paid to a new date to ensure you are not out of pocket. There are only so many Saturday's in 2021 and the wedding industry (along with so many others) is facing an incredibly difficult 18-24 months, most of us completely losing 3-6+ months of income this year & looking at an unimaginable workload next year to catch up. If you can, we highly encourage you considering having your wedding on a weekday, especially Monday to Thursdays. I'll say it again as we are trying to get it out there, please consider a weekday wedding. If you absolutely can't that is fine & understandable, just know that Saturday's will get taken quick, typically being the day of choice in an ideal world, as not only do we have a lot of rescheduling happening from what was an almost booked out year, couples who were planning to marry in 2021 anyway will also be looking to plan their big day, so please reach out sooner rather than later if you need to come up with a back-up plan with us. 07.01.2022 This still remains one of the most emotional moments ive been able to capture on video. If you havent yet seen it, Kalara surprised her Dad during their Father/Daughter Dance by pre-recording her singing their song. His reaction when he realises its actually his daughter singing is priceless. My hands were shaking so much during this, SO glad I had the camera on the gimbal! This was not a handheld moment!! 07.01.2022 Holidays in September - whaaaaat?! Will and I are off to the most Northern point of Australia today! Going to The Tip is something weve always said yeah that would be cool to do one day to, but we never actually do it because were busy working our asses off in our fnq winters as both of our jobs are seasonal. #onegoodthingcomingoutofcovid Weve got the Ute tent decked out and looking forward to spending a week or two slowing down & enjoying campfires and beautiful view...s along the way. 06.01.2022 A couple of weeks have passed already since this sweet day, I couldn’t resist sharing a sneak at the magic that’s on my computer today! Lisa and Steve chose to recite their personal vows to each other privately after the ceremony once their guests had left to enjoy cocktail hour, perfect for those who aren’t quite comfortable to do so at the ceremony but it still makes for a beautiful memory. I suggested this idea to them in our meeting before the wedding and was so happy th...at they agreed to give it a go! I feel like I’ve got a good amount of work on my editing plate now with a couple of weddings in progress and also an exciting collaboration shoot that I’m dying to share a preview of from this weekend. 05.01.2022 Ive escaped the Cairns heat and traded it in for something Cooler! Im currently taking a break in one of my favourite places to visit, Hakuba, Japan. Enjoying a much needed holiday with lots of snowboarding, all the food and all the beers with some awesome company. Out of office until the end of Feb.

05.01.2022 As 2020 comes to a close I want to just thank you all for your love, encouragement & support I've received this year! Even though 2020 was a sh*tshow & a really tough year I also look back and realise how much stronger I am for making it through, and also how grateful I am for everything & everyone I have around me. . . This year I've been scared for the future more than I ever thought I would be, a lot felt dark & uncertain & still does, my heart also felt so heavy for my ...couples who were trying to plan for the best day of their lives and had this years events get in the way. . . 2020, however, was also the year that got things into perspective for me by giving me a little nudge to realise who & what I work for, and the opportunities I took on and adventures I was able to go on while the world felt a little quieter & slowed down was in the end something that I truly needed. . . For those who were curious, just a bit of a sum-up: . - 5 of my 2020 couples were lucky enough to still get married on their original date - 6 completely new couples came on board with me for 2020 - 1 couple postponed from earlier in the year to late 2020 . - I had to unfortunately say goodbye to 4 couples . - 14 of my meant-to-be 2020 couples have postponed to next year. . - 100% crossing my fingers that it gets a bit better & more certain from here! . . I have been SO lucky with the incredible people who have had me booked in, whether things went to plan or not, I feel so blessed that you've all been so kind, understanding and easy to work with during what must feel like an impossible time to plan a wedding! I'm not even just saying it - YOU GUYS ARE THE BOMB(dot)COM and I love you all so much. The best job in the world made even better because of your lovely selves. . I had my first destination wedding where I was flown out to capture a couples amazing day. I travelled to shoot love stories in Townsville, Mt Surprise, Ravenshoe, Bedarra Island, Port Douglas, Mossman & Moreton Island. & finally, something BIG is coming.. tomorrow!! 04.01.2022 Cara and Aaron had known of each other for a while but one night at the Bushman's Ball in Georgetown, they officially met and couldn't keep their eyes off each other. Family is so incredibly special to these two, not only all of their amazing family and friends who came from near and far to help celebrate, but they just adore their two little boys Victor & Hank, and that was so obvious throughout their entire wedding day and I really wanted to reflect that strongly throughou...t their film. We travelled up the day before the wedding to meet the gang and have a look around, we had a big drive inland from Cairns and were so excited for a different experience in the outback! Everything for the big day was on Cara's parents property just outside of Mount Surprise. The ceremony was a short drive through cattle yards at Fossil Brook Springs, when we first drove in it was an unexpected little paradise in the middle of all the red dirt, gorgeous flowing springs & wildlife! The arbour and platform the bridal party stood upon was all hand-made for the wedding, and so many family members put it long hours and lots of work to help make the day what it was. Cara and Aaron chose to do a first look with their young boys before the ceremony and have a bit of a private family moment before all the craziness of the wedding started! 04.01.2022 Today marks exactly 7 years since i filmed a wedding for the first time! . . I was in my final year of uni, I did a little video job for a woman who ran a local small business and when we were talking I mentioned how im excited about trying lots of different things in the video field and how id love to try a wedding one day - well turns out she was engaged and getting married in the next couple of months! I did it for free accomodation (it was at Mission Beach) and I got ti...pped with a nice bottle of wine at the end of the night, and this was the opportunity I took that started it all. . . I was so nervous but so excited, I rented most of the equipment I used from the uni & I poured my heart and soul into it and gave it my best effort. 02.01.2022 I think elopements and intimate weddings are going to be the norm for a while and i’m 100% here for it. I love them! Introducing to you, Catherine & Seamus, the most adorable couple ever who gave me the honour of capturing their super intimate elopement at Mount Quincan Crater Retreat up on the Tablelands. With just Catherine’s Mother & Seamus’ Brother as witnesses, these two were so excited to get married, and made it official with a simple yet emotional ceremony. These two... lovers are super relaxed and just adored being in each others company. They love adventuring around together every chance they get, and Seamus’ proposed to Catherine at Uluru! Before the wedding they mentioned how they were definitely not comfortable in front of the camera and were not sure how they’d go on the day, but oh my - their photographer & I barely had to say a thing to help or direct them on their creative session. Chemistry like this doesn’t come around often, but when it does it’s a little bit magic.
