25.01.2022 Aurecon made Darwin Corporate Park their new office location and moved in late last year. Jaytex delivered an architecturally designed office that aligns to the principles of their workplace ecology. The fitout is modern and sleek, with an open plan design allowing people to meet and move freely. Meeting rooms and informal meeting areas invite collaboration, and a large boardroom with an operable wall can be transformed to suit any requirement. The 660m2 property invites n...atural light through glass doors and full length windows, and custom built plant holders bring the outside in. The huge kitchen area welcomes any coffee lover with polished concrete benchtops and custom cabinets with a retro theme. Furnishings and materials predominantly sourced locally with some unusual and unique features being attained from other parts of the world. This is an inspiring space where engineering, design and advisory consultants can interact and learn from one another. This project is a great example of a workplace that brings ideas to life. 21.01.2022 Great things are happening at the RSPCA in Berrimah. The new adoption kennel area is taking great shape, there is the Million Paws Walk (COVID-19) style, the Mega May Raffle and The installation of a contactless donation terminal at Rays Patisserie and Cafe in Darwin City. Every little bit helps and makes a real difference to the shelter animals and goes a long way towards a future that is cruelty free.

19.01.2022 The Northern Territory Government’s new field services building at the Berrimah Farm Science Precinct is now complete. This kicks off a multi-staged program of works for the Department of Primary Industry and Resources that will be the most modern agricultural science precinct in northern Australia. The field services building consists of a laboratory wing and an administration wing. The laboratory wing will house livestock and plant research and includes a post-harvest lab... with a complex drying room with two large ovens to dry plant samples. These facilities will create an epicentre of excellence in Northern Australia for agricultural research, diagnostics and pest and disease surveillance. Built using a variety of modern materials and finishes, the building features high windows to maximise natural light and runs off a chilled water air conditioning system. The building also features extensive data infrastructure connected to existing building optic fibre with civil works including the construction of a new car park and resurfacing of the existing road. Jaytex collaborated on many areas of this complex building to ensure practicality, process and functionality for the end users and all stakeholders. We are thrilled with the result and proud to have contributed to the development of a modern, innovative and technologically advanced facility for agricultural science, research and development essential to northern Australia. 16.01.2022 As Darwin locals, we take great pride in working with the community to make our shared home a better place by investing in our people, in our community and taking every opportunity to develop the local economy. This time last week, a diverse group of young people from around the Darwin, Palmerston, Belyuen and Wagait Beach regions attended a school holiday cultural camp and learned all about the work undertaken by the Kenbi Rangers on country. This opportunity was made possib...le by the Kenbi Ranger Group as part of their ongoing commitment to engaging with the community they live and work in. A trip was organised for the excited youngsters out to Bare Sand Island aboard Sea Darwin where they met with Researchers and got to hold baby turtles and look for turtle eggs on the fresh tracks on the beach. On the boat ride home, the kids came up close to some dolphins playing in the harbour and pulled up alongside a Submarine that was berthed in Darwin Harbour with workers aboard giving the kids a friendly wave. On Day 2, workshops were held with Parks and Wildlife, NT Fisheries, INSPIREDNT, Charles Darwin University, the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, Larrakia Nation Aboriginal Corporation Rangers and the Lee Family. These interactive workshops equipped these young people with vital skills and knowledge they will need in the future should they choose a career pathway as a Ranger. A great time was held by all that attended. A big thank you to the Kenbi Ranger Group for hosting this camp, a lot of excited kids can’t wait for the next one.
