As Victoria goes into another 6 weeks of hard lockdown, I’ll be busy boxing up another round of jigsaw puzzles to keep you from going insane and off the screens. 23.01.2022 Have you ever shared 5 minutes face to face with another human without speaking a single word? . Over the last decade I’ve photographed hundreds of couples, strangers, siblings, friends and family members share a few minutes of eye contact in silence and the result is priceless, every single time. Capturing (and experiencing) what happens in that space has always fascinated me on the deepest level. Seeing how quickly it gets kinda weird then funny then all of a sudden serious... then hilarious then a bit weird again but eventually breaks you down and you realise you’re just 2 of 8 billion humans just existing and searching for meaning in the experience. All while hurtling through space at 460 metres a second on a gigantic strange rock with no idea of what reality truly is, only our perception of it. . 17.01.2022 Exactly 3 years ago I had the honour of documenting Kathryn and Malcolms journey into Married life . Yesterday we started photographing the next and arguably the biggest chapter in their story so far. 12.01.2022 Yesterday our son, Odin, had his very 1st birthday and as much as I wanted to share the milestone with the world. I wanted to just be completely present with him even more. Being his dad is the greatest gift I've ever received. As challenging as this last year has been with everything going on in the world, raising him has been anything but joy. He's adventurous, curious, kind, affectionate, brave, super cheeky and as of a week ago can now walk. His mum and I so incredibly proud of him. Words can hardly express our gratitude for his existence. We love you son, our adventure had just begun.

You surprised me and I really appreciate it so much, especially since Rona cleared my calendar. I'm actually supposed to be on a Beach in Tulum, Mexico documenting another adventure wedding right now. Instead I've just launched a puzzle collection All the puzzles are handcut from 3mm timber and made in Australia. They’re... seriously specatular and designed to last a lifetime. 08.01.2022 Trust is everything in my business. . It's the reason my work holds such value to the people I photograph. . It's the reason they fly me around the world to document their most intimate experiences in life. ... . It's this trust that built the relationship with @nataliedrum + @marcusdrum leading to me documenting the birth of their son, James. . I first met these legends the same way I meet most of my clients, at a wedding, back in 2014. . I then photographed their wedding in 2015 and have since documented a handful of their friends and families weddings. I'm still photographing them @moniquebav . After becoming an incredibly talented celebrant a few years ago. Nat’s even married a handful of my couples @nataliedrumcelebrant . I’ll finish by saying a few words about their birth story and leave you with some very sweet words I received from Nat shortly after . James came into existence quite quickly and had mum work for every second of his birth. The last 15 minutes will stay with me forever. With a dramatic entrance requiring revival shortly after arrival, there he was with his 3.63kg of goodness, in his mothers arms filling the room with love. . Having you there to document the birth of our baby boy far exceeded our expectations. Throughout what is such a personal and private experience, you became an integral part of our birth story. Present, with just the right amount of presence. We couldn’t have felt more relaxed with you there, or more trusting of your professionalism and talent, particularly when things took a frightening turn upon delivery. 07.01.2022 365 days ago two of our closest friends @robert_double_you + @alexannerachel looked each other in the face and said some things, some really sweet things. For so many reasons this experience will always be unique for me. For starters, this was the first time I've been both a the photographer + a groomsman at the same time. It was also the very first time I'd photographed a couple inside of a tree (swipe to make sense of that) / Every single detail of their wedding was so wel...l considered. From their school camp venue to their epic 18 strong bridal squad bush ceremony by @celebrantkate_ck dripping in native florals designed by @northst to the VW Karmann ghia hand restored over 3 years by Rob himself, the finger licken Texas style BBQ by @bluebonnetbbq , their entire band complete with multiple guest performances, all of the handmade camp vibe styling + signage by @wiltshirecreative, the onsite canoeing, campfires and accommodation for all 80+ local and international guests. They also hosted the mother of all hangover fry-ups the following morning for all the guests. / You made this experience more than just a wedding. It was more like a festival of you!! 06.01.2022 When we’re no longer able to change a situation, we’re challenged to change ourselves. Everything can be taken from us but one thing. The last of all the human freedoms, which is the ability to choose our attitude in any set of circumstances. Between stimulus and response there’s a space. In that space we have the power to choose our response. In our response lies both our growth and freedom.... Does anyone else feel like this whole crisis actually has a silver lining? It's taken me a couple weeks to process the fallout of my business but I'm starting to see a bigger picture.
