23.01.2022 For us who are old enough to remember the famines that occurred in India & China, not just Africa food security is critical. All students should learn at least the basics of producing food, ideally they would practice these skills as adults.

22.01.2022 How far can a Man go? At Charnley there are a large number of Mango trees, the flying foxes feed on them for a couple of hours after dark then again early in the morning. During the day the Corellas are busy eating them. I am told by others that there will be plenty left for me.

11.01.2022 My veggies doing well in raised beds at the Mount Gibson Wildlife Sanctuary WA. The greens are grown organically for myself and the chooks. One drawback is that I will have 14 cabbages ready on the same day.

09.01.2022 A few ewes and their lambs in a fresh paddock.

09.01.2022 Not pushing up daisies.

09.01.2022 Many people ask how to stop a chook from being clucky? This chook is in a small wire cage with food and water, normally it will only take 3-5 days for it to go off the cluck. It is a good idea to return it to the flock at night, they all wake up together so there is less likelihood that it will be bullied. Fresh eggs for sale $4.00 a dozen over weekend, going back up on Monday. 181 Monaro Highway Cann River, when the sign is out.

09.01.2022 One of the great places to visit if you are in Great Britain.

03.01.2022 Always consider whether you need to use pesticides on your plants to protect them from insects. Pesticides including natural ones kill beneficial insects as well, beautiful butterflies, native and introduced bees and more, these insects are the pollinators of our food plants. You can squash caterpillars, throw wood ash on your cherry and pear trees if they have cherry/pear slug and much more. There is a lot of information on the internet or ask others who garden how they manage pests. Dont ever use any insecticide on a plant that is flowering!

03.01.2022 Do you want to see both the Noorinbee Trail and the Cann River Bushland Track improved and made more accessible for all, the track surfaces will be improved and... widened. 02.01.2022 Natures oddities. The natural world is amazing, the more you study it the more wonderful it is. The Elephants Foot Dioscorea elephantipes is a caudiform (succulent base with non succulent branches and leaves) succulent that grows naturally in the dry savannahs of Southern Africa.... I imported the seed of these plants in the early 1980s, my three eldest daughters have one each of these plants that are older than all but the eldest one

01.01.2022 A little distance from Jibberding Farm but the garden beds are underway. By tonight the first one should be ready for planting, fresh can be hard to get in the Kimberley though the mail plane will bring them in providing they can land once the rain starts.
