22.01.2022 The Jnr Acko Race team (Miss Conduct) had a great weekend and what a superb ending to the AFPGP Australian Series 2018. What a venue it was held at Lake Mulwala Ski Club. Racing was held across both Saturday and Sunday and the weather was just amazing for the final round of the series. The event saw the J1 class have 3 races on Saturday and 4 races on Sunday. The weekend saw Montana complete all of her 7 races. She showed us how far she has come and even though she got 6 fir...st places and 1 second place it goes on consistency and unfortunately Montana got faster and faster every race and broke time. Montana still had a podium finish with 3rd place for the weekend. Congratulations to both Cooper and Tyler for the series and also awesome driving and can’t wait for racing with you in a few weeks. Overall for the AFPGP championship Montana gain 2nd place for J1. We would like to thank everyone who voted for Montana for the people choice awards for Jnr sportsperson of the year she is truely honoured that she received this award and we as parents are so proud of her for the way she conducts herself both on and off the water. This is one trophy that will be cherished for life. Thank you to all the officials and volunteers for putting this event on. Thank you to all the other competitors and a special thank you to Rowena for looking after all Formula Future kids you did an Amazing job both getting them on and off the water and your commitment to them, we will miss you next year. Thank you to Gavin Simmons and the Diamond Racing team for taking Montana into their buddy program this weekend she had a fantastic time and has taken away some new learning experiences. Thank you also to Briney for always showing interest and being a fantastic role model for Montana to look upon. Love It.... Live It..... Breathe It

22.01.2022 Been fairly quiet on the page over the last few months but finally it’s time for some racing, after some final adjustments over the weekend the 800cc mono is ready to hit the water this weekend in Bundaberg for the first Bundy Fun day of the year. As always thanks to Stephen Medaris for making this possible. Safe travels to all the other competitors and see you up there Saturday.

22.01.2022 Great racing for Montana in J1 & Zac in J3 this morning in their 2 races. Due to delays & a couple of unfortunate accidents in the senior races this afternoon (all drivers ok) they didn’t get their 3rd race in. As you can see well worn out after a great Aussie Day catching up with great friends & family! Very much looking forward too tomorrow! Happy Aussie Day to All! The ACKO’s

20.01.2022 We would firstly like to Thank Stacey & Matthew Eaves and all their family especially Matt’s Dad for helping getting Montana’s much need boat spray painted at such late notice after our original painter pulled out. We appreciate the time you took not only to paint the boat but also re prep it after Brett’s attempt lol. Then there was the almost disaster on the paint that wasn’t quite the colour that Montana had chosen so Thank you for taking the time to get some white paint ...to correct the colouring after the paint shop mishap. We could have not asked for better friends to help us out in time of need. Thank you also to Wazza (Katrina’s dad) for helping us out on Monday evening to pick up Montana’s boat from Newcastle to save us some time. We are so very grateful for everyone’s efforts to get it back on the water for this weekends Australian Day Racing in Newcastle Honeysuckle Bay. We would also like to welcome to Jnr Acko Racing - Archies Flamed Grille at Sylvania Waters. Offical Program for the 2018 Newcastle City Council Australian Formula Powerboat Grand Prix. On water from 8am Friday and Saturday #visitnewcastle #afpgp #nccafpgp

19.01.2022 Good luck to all competitors today. Zac Atkinson will Be Racing in his new 800cc boat thank you to Steve Medaris for building this boat and Montana will be racing in her J1. The race starts at upper hawksberry powerboat club and goes all the way to sackville return the only race that we hold our breathe in anticipation for the kids to return safe not knowing if they have made it to the other end and when they are on their return run. Stay Safe but most of all have fun.

19.01.2022 The racing is set to start tomorrow at 8am with the juniors, followed by a Support Class of displacements and then on to the final round of the Australian Champ...ionships. With a huge weekend again next weekend with the Trojan Super Series and the EC Griffith Cup, we are welcoming some displacement boats to our event to show us what they are all about and give us a taste of next weekend’s action. We will finish tomorrow with the Andrew Page Memorial with both juniors and seniors driving the J boats. The course closes at 5pm both days. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow

18.01.2022 Wow what an amazing turn around in 3mths from being in a wheelchair with the unknown ahead for Montana. We are thankful to the amazing Doctor Trevor Roy and Physio Dr Greg Fyffe who advised Montana just before the Australian Titles entries were due that she could go back to some sport but no contact sport which was swimming and Boat Racing. On this Montana was quick to say I want to get back into the pool and maybe you could give me a little run in my boat up the river. Last ...weekend saw Montana back in her boat racing in Bundaberg for the first time in 10mths to gain some confidence back. Last night we Travelled from the GC to Taree and Montana has an open mind knowing that she has only just got a little seat time back before today’s Australia Titles. We are so proud and lost for words at this time as Montana has Won Back to Back J1 (6hp) Australian Champion for 2019. To add to this Montana also stepped up into the J2 class (10hp) racing with her 6hp motor giving her 3rd Place in this Australian Championship also. Words cannot express nor can we describe the dedication and the focus and motivation and her driving ability just blew us away today. The more laps she did the better she got. We look forward to racing with all our fellow boating family in 2 weeks time at @darglevalleyboatclub . We would like to thank our Major sponsor @quikshadeaustralia for their continued support and our fellow competitors, volunteers and the Officials and Taree Aquatic Powerboat Club for putting on this event once again. Thank you for everyone support, phone calls and text messages. #AustraliaJ1Champion #backtobackAustraliantitles #quikshade #womeninracing #mercuryracing #mercurymarine #J1 #J2 #nike #wildfems #ontopoftheworld #girlsrule #beleiveinyourself #aussiechamp #dedicatethiswintoNannyandPoppyinthesky @ Taree Aquatic Powerboat Club

18.01.2022 Sorry for the lack of updates over the day but it was a hectic day with 3 boats running and getting Montana, Zac and Brett in and off the water with very little... time In between races. Montana, Zac and Brett all completed 4 races each. Montana once again continued to improved with the 9.9hp motor and came away with a Third place in the junior class racing against both 15hp and 9.9hp boats within the 1 class with handicapped Racing. Zac driving his 800cc Medaris Hull again in the 850cc class Drove well against 5 other competitors. Flying by the seat of his pants was able to take home a third Place for the day. Brett in his return race meet after 2year lay-off was aiming to just get back on the water and have some fun spinning some laps again with the good old faithful fishing motor back onto the Gran Prix F2 hull. With a great combination set up we were able to get 2 - 1st and 2 - 2nd places sharing the honours with Kay Marshall to give us an Equal first for the day. We would like to take this opportunity to Thank our Sponsors Southern Plumbing Racing Tasmania, Quikshade Australia, Steve Medaris. We would like to also Thank all our Crew Stu and Fallon McClelland, Michaella, Zara and Alyssa for their help over the weekend and getting the boats on and off the water. Thanks to Bundaberg Powerboat Club and all the officials and people who volunteer their time and getting this event on. We would also like to send our Condolences to the Spicer Family on the passing of Betty over the weekend. Until next race meet Saturday 7th December 2019.

17.01.2022 Today marked a sad day in our home , My niece 12 months ago bought a junior race boat with the name Monopoly on it today we saw it stripped of all its art work ...as after seeking approval from HASBRO we were told it had to be removed as the previous owners had not sought approval To do this to a 14 year old girl is heartbreaking so we as a family will never buy a HASBRO product again and are calling on others to do the same , I,m not sure how long this statement will stay on here as knowing what they did to my niece it will probably be removed by the big wigs at HASBRO so lets see what happens Ps this company had a revenue turn over of 5 Billion dollars in 2016 See more

16.01.2022 Sorry its been a while between posts, Two weekends ago the team headed up to Bundaberg for the first race meet of the year with all 4 boats, with Montana in (j2) juniors, Zac in the green and white 850cc mono, Michaella also in the 850cc mono class with her newly acquired blue and white Medaris and Dad (Brett) in the tunnel boat running in outboard A. The boats were all running well on Saturday afternoon when they went out for a quick test until Zacs run got cut short with e...ngine issues, after investigating, a melted piston was discovered putting his boat on the trailer for the rest of the weekend. Sunday morning came with the amazing offer by dad for Zac to run the F2 tunnel in the outboard B class so all 4 drivers got to hit the water and can happily say went extremely well with the team finishing with great results Montana drove well and continued to improve with the bigger 9.9hp motor, Michaella drove exceptionally well for her second meeting in the boat building confidence and getting faster, won her first race in the 850cc class, Zac from outside pole in all the races due to his first time racing in the class managed to place 3rd in the first race followed by 2 1st’s to finish the day off, Brett battled hard being underpowered against his other opponents placing 2 2nds’ and a 3rd in the final race Race day results: Montana 3rd Michaella 1st Zac 2nd Brett 2nd Thank you to the Bundaburg powerboat club, volunteers and safety crew who allow the event to go ahead along with everyone else who gave us a hand to get on and off the water.

15.01.2022 We are back! After 6 months of no racing, It is an understatement to say the team are excited to get back on the water this Sunday racing, Although it will be a spectator free event we will try out best to post video/photo updates over the day. Over the break we have somehow ended up a new toy, so we are keen to see how it goes. Make sure to keep tuned to see the new vessel in the fleet.

14.01.2022 We would like to wish all our fellow competitors all the best of luck for Round 1 of the AFPGP at Taree. Stay safe and most of all Have fun. We would have loved to been their to watch everyone who has stepped up to F4 debut this weekend but unfortunately with the move and Montana’s accident this has put us out for a while. Wishing everyone a great weekend of racing in juniors and seniors

14.01.2022 Today’s was a very hard day for all our friends and boat racing family as we laid to rest our friend Brian. He wanted us to learn and watch this video and if this message just reaches 1 - 16year old person it could save just 1 life. In Loving memory of Brian Sherry we share this video to educate just 1 person. It just takes 5 mins to watch the video and one click to share this post. Tonight we will show Montana and Zara this Video and hopefully they will be more educated ab...out Melanoma. Melanoma, also known as malignant melanoma, is a type of cancer that develops from the pigment-containing cells known as melanocytes.[1] Melanomas typically occur in the skin, but may rarely occur in the mouth, intestines, or eye.[1][2] In women, they most commonly occur on the legs, while in men they are most common on the back.[2] Sometimes they develop from a mole with changes such as an increase in size, irregular edges, change in color, itchiness, or skin breakdown.[1]

07.01.2022 Bit of a flashback to the 2016 UHPBC Windsor Spectacular Thanks Trent (Smiley) for the photos

07.01.2022 It was a mix of emotions for the final round 5 held at Grafton. Over the 2 days of racing Montana and Zac competed in the J1 and J3 class over 6 races both of the children drove exceptionally well and had consistent finishes. After a great weekend of racing Montana achieved 4th place and Zac 3rd place for the final round of the AFPGP. We would like to congratulate them both on great sportsmanship for both on and off the water. We would like to make a special mention to Rowdy... Burns and David Minton for helping us tow the kids junior boats to and from Sydney we do greatly appreciated your help. Brett returned for his 1st round of formula racing after 12mths which the team was looking forward to being out on the water once again. We qualified well in pole 3 and backed it up with a second place in the one and only Race on Saturday. Sunday consisted of 3 races. Race 2 was a reverse grid race and off pole 3 it was a hard fought race between all boats and we were happy to come away with a 4th placing. Race 3 we were once again pole 3 and with a tight tussle with great racing with Briney we finished in 3rd position. Race 4 we were out of pole 3 again and after everyone pushing hard with 3 laps to go rounding a turn brett and another competitor had a hit with both boats able to continue which then saw the 2 lead boats a lap later up ahead in a seperate hit come together which saw Simon loose his rear cowl which then brought out the red flag which in turn brought the race to a stop. Since there was only 2 laps to go the officials called the race over. Results for this race and the overall round points can't be confirmed at this current time due to our protest on our disqualification. We are extremely happy with what we achieved with the equipment that we have and but in the same breath we are very disappointed that the left hand sponson and deck is severely damaged which leaves us to think where do we go from here? We would like to thank Jeremy from Quikshade for taking the time to come yesterday and watch both Brett and the kids race we appreciate your efforts and we appreciate your sponsorship and friendship. Thank you again for helping us pack up. A special thanks goes to both Peter Cunneen and Joel Downes for jumping in and helping us with the boats over the weekend. Much appreciated. To our crew Zac, Kim, Ez and Jared thank you again for your time and help we couldn't of done it without you all. To all our family and Friends for your support we Thank you. Regards Team BAR.

07.01.2022 No doubt you have seen Kay posting away on Facebook thanking everyone for their support. We am doing one last push for some extra funding if anyone knows anyone who might like to help. I had a quote today for AUD$16,000 to bring her home as she needs to fly Business Class with a nurse accompanying her to administer oxygen if she needs it in flight. Add this to the hospital bill and this one race has cost $40,000. Please if you know anyone with some deep pockets, please direc...t them my way. I will gladly sing the praises of any corporate that chooses to donate and am actually assisting in preparing an article for powerboat racing magazine in which I will publicly acknowledge support. For individuals, please just give what you can - it all helps. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing that figure go up just a bit more yet over the next day or two. Please help. xxx

05.01.2022 Our teams are in transit to Mulwala, packing or some are even there but waiting for them when they get home will be their issue of Raceboat Newspaper. One of ou...r members, Joh Paynter of Work'n On It, does the feature Racing Rivals and this issue has shone a spotlight on our current points leaders heading into the final round. She’s also managed to get a sneak peak of the article to share with us so you can have a bit of background for this weekend. It was great to hear from such a wide range of drivers and what it means to them. You say g’day in the pits but when they are given a moment to really think about winning an Australian Championship or series, it’s incredible to be able to share their story. said Joh after she’d heard from the drivers. We hope you enjoy learning about our points leaders and we’ll see you on the weekend.

03.01.2022 We are so proud of you Montana for your efforts today racing both the J1 class and stepping up to the J2 class. Your sportsmanship to your fellow competitors amazes us and even though you didn’t get on the podium you still showed compassion to your fellow races. In J1 Montana placed 4th and the points were so very close. Wow stepping up into the J2 class and placed 6th, is an exceptional effort for only your second time. Today wasn’t your day but in our eyes you shined and ...you are finally learning to drive in a large group of faster boats and your corners are just brilliant. Thank you to St George Motor Boat Club and all the official and a big thanks to Lenny Cave for sponsoring the Juniors entry fees once again it is greatly appreciated. 02.01.2022 Oh Wow just Wow we are absolutely speechless and we can’t get over everyone’s generosity in donations. Thank you very much for your generous donations. Thank you for you for your valuable funds that goes directly to the Melanoma Institute. We hope that these funds will help one day to find a cure and help others and make others aware and that people will have regular checks on their Skin and eyes dilated. Love to each and every one of you and your families. ... We will hope to get photos up tomorrow evening 29th March 2019 from the cut at school. This has now put me well over my expectations of raising $700 and I am currently sitting at $1055.00. Yep $1055.00 we are so overwhelmed. This cut is being dedicated to Brian Sherry a friend a fellow boat family member who lost his battle to Melanoma in October 2018 and these valuable funds raised is being donated to Melanoma Institute where most of Brian’s treatment was done through. It’s not too late to donate, so if you have $5 to spare instead of buying a coffee tomorrow please please click on the link below. xox Montana xox

01.01.2022 Well straight to the point we are proud to announce that we have a New Australian Champion in our family being Montana who won the J1 class from some very tough competition against the boys. Zac in J3 made it thru his heats into the finals and gained 6th place thru some very close racing out of the 12 competitors. Our family at this time are lost for words what our 2 children have achieved this weekend with nearly 30 laps of racing completed in one day. Thank you again to Taree Aquatic club for putting the Australian Championships on this weekend and thank you to all the officials for their continuous hard work. Thank you to our sponsor Quikshade for their continued support.
