25.01.2022 We are very excited to be in a new Woolworths Metro store in Ascot Vale. We delivered our eggs there directly from the farm and met the store managers. This weekend Josh and I will be in the store giving away sample 6 packs. Please come say hi.

25.01.2022 Finally the days are getting longer and the mornings are brighter

23.01.2022 Jed is the favourite with our hens. He is very calm and doesn’t mind a cuddle and a curious peck here and there.

23.01.2022 What do you think about a double yolker 6 pack? Easter 2021 we hope to have these in our stores as a special treat. This double yolker was recently laid by our youngest hens in shed 2. Clever hens.

23.01.2022 Jed is our #2 pooch after Joey ... such a great dog!

22.01.2022 Most of the flock was hanging out all together on the east side of the shed - until we walked away....and then they all followed

22.01.2022 Our hens like to sun bathe. Apparently it’s a bird thing. Once the sun heats the oils in their feathers they preen themselves running their beak through their feathers cleaning and oiling them. Amazing

22.01.2022 Our biggest cauliflower ever - grew all winter. Weighs 8kgs. It’s cauliflower cheese all week!

22.01.2022 It’s so great to have a new partnership with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. 500 dozen of our beautiful mini eggs from our young hens are going to families who need them most. Thank you to all our loyal customers. Because you buy our eggs we can give eggs to those less fortunate.

22.01.2022 Quince have the most delicate pink blossoms. They look like tear drops dotted over the tree. They blossom even before the cherries.

20.01.2022 Jupiter liked his Christmas stocking

19.01.2022 You can see why they say busy as a bee. Reminds us of our hens who are also always busy pecking and scratching and clucking

19.01.2022 We are open for eggs. Any last minute shopping can be done at our farm . Jemma and Jack are here.

18.01.2022 Been taking more photos of our tulips than our hens

18.01.2022 At 2.30 this morning we welcomed our newest flock. It took about an hour to place them in their new home, one side at a time. It’s exhausting but the best for the hens as in the summer hens are moved at night as it’s cooler. They were quite calm. Jupiter was the crazy one barking outside.

17.01.2022 Now it really does feel like spring. The sounds of the bees drowned out those of the hens

17.01.2022 Just a handful of hens are inside on a beautiful autumn afternoon like today. In a few hours they will all come in. Every single one of them. It’s amazing how smart they are

17.01.2022 Still in holiday-mode? 16.01.2022 Jemma loves the lamb almost as much as his Mum does. #joshsrainboweggs #freerange #knowyourfarmer #loveeggs #eatwell #ethicalappetite #farmanimals

15.01.2022 A great story on us in the Smart Farmer of The Stock and Land. Hope you enjoy it.

14.01.2022 We love blue tongues except just at that moment you think they’re a snake. The relief is welcomed.

14.01.2022 Every day is the same.....another great day to be outside pecking and scratching and just enjoying being a hen

14.01.2022 This was a beautiful afternoon before the cold wintry weather hit us. Lovely watching the hens enjoying the afternoon sun.

11.01.2022 The next morning our new hens are settled and quite chill. The young ones look so different to our older hens. Such small combs and clear eyes taking in their new surrounds.

10.01.2022 Love our dahlias. Jess used to sell them at the farmers markets alongside Josh and his eggs. They are so easy to grow. The most spectacular flower

10.01.2022 Greg and Alan from Shepparton Foodshare came to pick up 500 dozen. We love the hen they have on their van. She is called Harriet . They said she is well known in the Shepparton area.

10.01.2022 Hens as far as the eye can see

10.01.2022 Really happy to donate several dozen to Romsey Lancefield Ambulance Auxiliary to raise money at the Lancefield & District Farmers' Market. They came to the farm Friday to grab a few trays. Hope you had a great day. Lancefield was Josh’s very first market. Let us know if your community group needs some eggs. Now Covid is almost over we can support community bbqs again lancefield farmers market

08.01.2022 A few more of the brief beautiful winter wonderland.

08.01.2022 It’s like holding a bit of sunshine in your hand

07.01.2022 Sun one day snow the next. Didn’t think we would see tulips covered with snow flakes

07.01.2022 You can now buy our eggs at Ascot Vale Woolies and we’re in-store to celebrate! Come and say hello, we’re here until 1pm. . @woolworths_au . #freerangeeggs #joshsrainboweggs #fresheggs #eatwell #vegetarian #localproduce #knowyourfarmer

07.01.2022 Our newest flock of beautiful hens

06.01.2022 We don’t often see brown and white twin lambs!

06.01.2022 Wow snow in September! Just a few brave hens are out and about pecking at the snowflakes. Jupiter doesn’t seem to mind the snow either.

06.01.2022 Merry Christmas. We hope you have had a wonderful day Here is a little taste of our Christmas morning. We had to collect all the eggs before opening presents. Makes for speedy egg collecting

06.01.2022 Finally some sunshine after days of gloomy wet weather. Our hens are happy. They have had green grass all through this summer

05.01.2022 We love our maremmas. Jo-jo is so special. She trained Jupiter not to chase hens. Smart dog.

05.01.2022 We had the most amazing day yesterday! We were honoured to have a Woolies head office visit at our farm. Paul Harker Director of Buying came with other executives from Sydney. It all started with one store in Kyneton in 2015 to now 38 stores! It’s been an incredible journey. Wonder what the next 6 years hold in store. Our hens enjoyed the cuddles. Woolworths

05.01.2022 These hens are the fast learners who have figured out the perches on the first day. The masses are still below. Within a few weeks all will be up on the perches roosting. It’s where they feel safe. Comes from their jungle ancestors in the Amazon

05.01.2022 This wet cold winter has had a few positives - the most wildflowers and orchids we have ever seen in our forests. If you know the names please let us know. They are quite spectacular seen growing amongst the huge eucalypts.

04.01.2022 Love supporting From Us 2 You. One of the great things the women do is make boiled eggs and give them to the homeless people who can then snack on them throughout the day.

04.01.2022 Is this a peanut or an egg

02.01.2022 We have new egg displays. Jed is the hero. If you look closely you may see me on the side panel with Josh. This time we have photos of the community groups we donate eggs to. Let us know what you like about them and if you think they could be improved. We appreciate your feedback.

02.01.2022 This hen decided to lay her egg outside the nest. This is a very rare occurrence as they like the dark nests.
