23.01.2022 Weve been nominated, among other legends for best new restaurant by @gourmettraveller . Just being nominated already feels like the biggest win, and is beyond what we could have dreamed of. Its been such a wild ride over the last 4 months. Weve learnt so much, weve grown so much, weve cried (so much), we laughed SO much and weve been challenged endlessly. The thing thats always remained is that every morning we unlock the door of @joyrestaurant and we know we are doing it for a few important reasons- to make people happy with delicious food and kind, warm service. @ Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

20.01.2022 Hey guys just a little update regarding our reservation system. Things are getting spicy and were currently booked solid for over 3 months. We have implemented changes to hopefully make getting a booking easier for everybody. Bookings will now be released 90 days in advance. So if youre planning on making a reservation please keep an eye on the exact date 90 days out and be aware that bookings may go fast. Were very sorry to those out of town & travelling who couldnt get the seat you wanted at short notice. We are trying to make the system as fair as possible for everyone to come and dine with us we look forward to seeing our customers again and meeting more customers all the time. To be included amongst them this year has left us lost for words. Thanks of course to @johnlethlean for embracing what we have done, but also thank you to all the legends (some special ones noted in the article) that have shaped us into the chefs, business owners and people that we currently are. 17.01.2022 Were away from the shop for a few days for the first time since we started building back in January. Its got us reminiscing back to the early days of the build. Well be back living the dream in a few days- but for now we are going to eat our way as far around Sydney as we can in two days! Happy Sunday all! Love Tim and Sarah xx

17.01.2022 Hidden Laneway Festival is fast approaching and we are SO excited to support this event. On Saturday the 26th of October we wont be opening for dinner, but instead will be offering a walk-in all day menu! (Dont worry- no one is booked in, weve had it blocked out ) We love being apart of the Fortitude Valley Laneways and are so excited to celebrate them. On Saturday the 26th of October from 11am we will be offering a short snack style menu with wines from our favourite producers! Well still be doing just 10 guests at a time, however we wont be timing the service and wont be taking reservations. We look forward to seeing you there!! 11am until late (or sold out). Either side of snacks @joyrestaurant there will be workshops, music and markets! We cant wait to see you all there! @ My Bakery Lane

It’s been a wild ride & I just wanted to take a moment to express my absolute gratitude to all of you. There have been so many moments of fear, self doubt, stress, vulnerability & uncertainty over the last months. To re-open with the support that I have had from all of you has filled my heart with so much JOY. Every single night that the resta...urant door swings open and we welcome guests inside I exhale, smile to myself and am completely at peace. Every day I get to express myself through food, wine & service & it’s because of all of you that I’m able to do this. Thank you. Thank you a million and one times over for supporting my expression. 04.01.2022 We came in this morning to some interesting electrical issues meaning our fridges etc had all been off all night. We are working on the electrical issues now, but have had to cancel tonights dinner service. Thank you to all the beautiful guests we phoned this morning to explain the situation to.
