23.01.2022 PM Scott Morrison said it well last night. Let a child be 4. Let them enjoy that time, learn at their own pace and for their little 4 year old lives be as normal as possible in these uncertain times. It's important for our children to continue their usual routine, because routines help children feel safe, secure and supported during the craziness of our world at the moment. Continuing your child's care is important to do - because they are only 4 (or 1, 2 or 3) for such a short time!

16.01.2022 This week we look to place the spotlight on National Child Protection Week, with the theme. "Putting children first". NAPCAN - Play Your Part invite all Australians to look at how they can prioritise children in their lives and communities and to engage in National Child Protection Week as individuals, and as part of families, organisations, communities and society. Putting children first means prioritising the safety and wellbeing of children. To grow up well children need to feel safe and loved, have a chance to play and explore, have a say in decisions that affect them, and access to essential things like food, shelter and healthcare. #childrights #childprotection

11.01.2022 Dear Families, We see you. We see you worrying that your child is attending the service while you are working from home. We see you worrying that you have just lost your job, or closed your business, and what that means for your family, and your future. We see you, feeling relief as you walk in the door and see children playing normally and educators continuing learning opportunities and care for your children. We see you, needing time to take care of business, to take c...are of yourself. We see you keeping our team together. And we thank you. We need you. We see you, keeping your child at home, because you have decided that is the right decision for you. We see you, doing your bit to flatten the curve, because you aren't working. Because you have a support network who can do your shopping, or watch the children while you go to the chemist, the fruit shop and bank. Because your child has a tiny cold and you want to protect our community. We see you, staying at home, but keeping your days with us. And we thank you. We need you. We want to reassure you all that we respect the decisions you are making, whether it is to bring your child to us at the service to maintain routines and "normality", or to keep them at home - we very much appreciate your loyalty, your kind words and your support. We are in this together and we'll get through to the other side. Right now, life is different. Our freedom has changed. Our lifestyles have changed. But here, at the service, we remain the same. We play, we learn, we continue to enjoy the childhood moments and laugh together and learn from each other. It is important that we continue to deliver high quality early learning programs and care for you and your children. Rest assured that we are here when you need us, and can't wait for all the children to be able to return to the service so that we can keep doing what we love. Stay strong, support each other, and wash your hands! We are in this together.

08.01.2022 National Reconciliation Week (NRW) 27 May to 3 June - is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively. Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

07.01.2022 Today is R U OK? Day. R U OK? is a not for profit organisation founded in 2009 with a vision of a world where we are all connected and are protected from suicide, as well as encouraging and equipping everyone to regularly and meaningfully ask are you ok?. At Story House Early Learning, we continue to work with our services to focus on promoting and supporting kindness, mental health and wellbeing for everyone within our Story House Family and beyond so please take the opportunity to check in with and look after someone. If you have a nagging feeling that someone you know or care about isn’t behaving as they normally would, trust your instinct and act on it. #ruok #mentalhealth #beyondblue

06.01.2022 The day you send your little ones to ‘big’ school is a HUGE deal for any parent. How do you know if they’re ready? Will they cope with the rigours of full-time formal schooling? How soon should you start preparing them? How can you make it easier on them and you?... In this special masterclass, parenting educators Maggie Dent and Dr Kaylene Henderson come together to equip parents with some essential tools in getting their kids ready to start school and to do well when they get there. http://ow.ly/Q9F150BKsuj

03.01.2022 Children like adults fear the unknown and perhaps do not understand all the changes happening around them. They have had their daily routines changed, playdates are being postponed, playgrounds are off-limits, sports events are on hiatus. How do you explain an adult concept to such little minds? We encourage all of our families to watch and share the below video to your precious children. http://ow.ly/wnKX50yZmYo
