23.01.2022 It was great to visit the Brisbane Sikh Temple, packing and delivering grocery hampers to the community. Volunteers have already delivered more than 18,000 meals to families in need during COVID-19. I was joined by Pinky Singh - LNP for McConnel for this wonderful experience.

16.01.2022 Clean Up Australia Day Sunday 01/03/2020. The Clean-up Australia Day event was a huge success Thanks to Everyone who participated especially our little helpers. Khalsa Assist supported the biggest clean-up in Australia on Sunday 1 March 2020 at the Shorncliffe Pier, Shorncliffe, as part of Clean Up Australia Day, Khalsa Assist and volunteers gathered at Shorncliffe Pier to clean up rubbish.... With the most beautiful weather on our side, we collected rubbish at the beach, Thanks to the volunteers who helped us Collect the rubbish from the beach, Get your hands together for such an epic effort. Plastics Bottles, Small plastics, bottle tops, wrappers, chip packets, plastic bags etc, were the main find - together with some other interesting items!! Lets keep our Beach, waterways and bush areas clear & protect our wildlife. Again, Thanks to the Volunteers and especially our little helpers, Thank You.

15.01.2022 Today Khalsa Assist Donated Water Snacks and other Items to St Andrews War Memorial Hospital. Thanks to a small group of Ladies from the Inala Gurdwara for the Donation (Gupt Daan), and Thanks for the ten cartons of water Donation (Gupt Daan) from the North Side. Khalsa Assist were ecstatic to have our youngest volunteers helping out this morning! ... Today we had the privilege of visiting St Andrews War Memorial Hospital where we delivered cartons of water, poppers, snacks and pens which will be provided to clinical staff and allied health professionals during the Self Care and Wellbeing forums which are organised by the Hospital Chaplains. Chaplains Helen Hill and Phoebe Mitchell said, in the hospital community there are numerous traumatic events and tragically suicide is prevalent amongst medical staff. The Chaplains run mandatory self-care and wellbeing forums for about 500 clinical staff and allied health professionals annually. We have sometimes bought snack items for staff members to encourage them to have a break and care for themselves. They are so busy with their work caring for others that they forget to stop and take a break they said. There are no government funds for these items so they reached out for assistance and we are delighted to support the amazing work the Chaplains do to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the heroic front-line staff who devote their lives to the service of others.
