25.01.2022 The start of the new school year might be exciting for the kids, but for single mothers it can be a time of great financial stress. The Council of Single Mothers and their Children Inc. - CSMC have put together a terrific list of resources and advice about what you can do right now to help you meet the costs of the 2021 school year. Check it all out here: https://www.csmc.org.au//meeting-costs-education-informat/

21.01.2022 A big thank you to the Australian Government for supporting families with free childcare during these tough times. In the meantime, the team at KidNest is working overtime (from home!) to test and fine-tune our offer so that we can help parents return to work, study and play.

21.01.2022 We’re getting ready to KidStart the economy. We’ve been working hard (lockdown and all!) to get our web app ready to be launched for our City of Port Phillip pilot program in September. Due to ongoing restrictions with Covid 19 we will be testing the app with virtual parent groups in the first instance this will allow us to gather some feedback and it will also mean that parents can meet other families they can go on to join Nests with once restrictions ease. If you’re in...terested in being a part of our pilot program, or you know someone who would, please email [email protected] we’d love to have you. 20.01.2022 Kids learn so much through play. 8-15 November is NAIDOC Week when we can learn about and celebrate the culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. There are loads of activities for kids listed on the NAIDOC site - like this art play at NGV designed for children 2-5 years old. Collaborative, Curious, Playful - Love it...

14.01.2022 A great little activity for you and the kids over the holidays. Thanks QEC!

12.01.2022 2020 was a challenging year for many. For Khrissy and Paul, everything that happened meant they had to liquidate their business of 11 years. They decided to move to the Bellarine Peninsula with their little girl, Charlotte before the second wave of COVID-19 hit and remote learning came about again. In August, Khrissy contacted Karen our CEO and asked about starting her own Nest. They’re now the first family to kick-off our pilot program AND, on top of that - Khrissy is now KidNest’s operations manager. Nester, tester, team member...We love our KidNest ecosystem!

11.01.2022 The easiest way to care for kids is connecting parents with their community. KidNest just joins the dots.

04.01.2022 Mum, Just a minute is a really long time ... Another wake up call from my smart as all get out daughter Ella when she was just 3 years old. This inspired my new year’s resolution to play with my kids every day. Years later I learnt about the importance of play in a child’s physical and emotional development. Karen Monaghan, CEO, KidNest At KidNest we are committed to connecting parents so that families can work, study and PLAY.... Here's a great resource around the importance of play: https://www.napcan.org.au//up/2018/12/importanceofplay.pdf
