09.01.2022 Tooth decay is a DIET-RELATED DISEASE that commonly develops in response to sugar consumption. The process is outlined below: - mouth bacteria that live on the surface of teeth consume the sugar we eat/drink and turns it to acid - The acid sits on the teeth and pulls minerals out from the tooth surface causing it to weaken (this happens every time we eat or drink)... - If these acid attacks continually occur and there isnt enough PROTECTION provided to the teeth in the form of brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, flossing x 1 day and a healthy saliva flow etc, decay results.
