21.01.2022 We are experiencing an unexpected power outage. Currently there are extensive waits as we have only one consult room with sufficient lighting for consultations. If you are able to, please consider rescheduling your appointment to this afternoon, or tomorrow. We are hopeful the power will be back on in the next half an hour, but even once back up there will still be significant delays. Apologies for the inconvenience.

21.01.2022 We are yet again experiencing issues with our telephones. We apologise for any inconvenience. We are currently on hold to Telstra in order to try to resolve this issue ASAP. Online bookings are working, alternatively please email [email protected] with your full name, DOB and preferred contact number for a call back.

20.01.2022 Update: we now have power but our phones and systems are down. Please consider booking online in the meantime. Results are unable to be accessed while our systems are down. ... We can perform basic consultations like medical certificates etc at the moment. There are still significant delays as we work on this. Apologies for the inconvenience.

17.01.2022 Currently, the advice is, that if you have a mild cold or flu, to please stay home and wait it out while keeping up your rest and fluids. If you are having cold and flu symptoms combined with recent overseas travel OR close contact with someone who has recently returned from overseas, please head to the drive through COVID-19 clinic at 138 Thuringowa Drive. We need to all do our best to look after each other at this time.

16.01.2022 If you meet the criteria mentioned, please head to 138 Thuringowa Drive for testing. If you have mild cold/flu symptoms without the travel or exposure criteria, please avoid coming to the practice and isolate at home until your symptoms resolve. GPs are under extreme pressure in these difficult times, we ask you to seriously consider whether your visit is absolutely essential before coming to the practice.

16.01.2022 Wishing all our patients and families a safe and #HappyNewYear

15.01.2022 Protections in place for COVID-19 In order to protect our patients, staff and doctors we have enacted the following safeguards: - We ask that only the patient being seen by the doctor waits in the waiting (plus 1 parent/carer if required). Any partners, friends or additional parents/carers must wait in the car.... - We have placed our chairs 1.5m apart to ensure we meet strict social distancing criteria. We ask that you please do not move the chairs when you are in the practice. - Patients who have travelled or had close contact with a returned traveller are asked to not present to the practice, and observe the mandatory isolation laws. - Patients with flu symptoms, cough or fever are asked to call the practice from their car when they arrive, and wait in their car until their doctor is ready. Reception will call when it’s your turn. - There is hand sanitiser on the reception desk, please use some when you arrive. - We have marked out the waiting room floor for patients waiting to speak to reception, please wait behind the line to be called forward. - We are regularly cleaning the surfaces of the practice with alcohol wipes and viral cleansers to ensure a clean environment for everyone. - If you would prefer to wait in the car or outside, please let reception know and we are happy to accommodate.

15.01.2022 Changes we've made to help stop the spread need to continue into the future. Together let's keep going and stay safe.

15.01.2022 Latest update, we should still carry a mask just in case, but not mandatory to wear one. Well done everyone, no cases of community transmission.

14.01.2022 Don't forget to social distance and sanitise. If you have symptoms get tested and self isolate. Keep up the good work!

13.01.2022 A friendly reminder to our patients that if you have any cold or flu like symptoms that you should have testing completed for Covid-19. Drive throught clinics remain open at 1300 stadium and Kirwan campus. Please call reception on 4723 5700 first and remain in your car if you have any cold or flu symptoms. Please do not enter the practice as it puts patients and staff at risk. Thank you for your ongoing support and patience during this difficult time. Together as a community we can keep each other safe

12.01.2022 Happy father's day to all our patients and staff. Wishing you all a great day with friends and family

11.01.2022 Please see the below advice from Townsville Hospital. For the safety of our patients, if you meet the criteria for testing as mentioned, we are asking that you present to the hospital for testing. If you are unwell but have not travelled, been in close contact with someone who has travelled or been in close contact with a confirmed case, you do not meet the criteria for Covid-19 testing and it is best you just rest and wait it out like any other illness.

09.01.2022 Thank you for a wonderful evening, staff Christmas party 2020

08.01.2022 Today is R U OK? Day. This is even more important to ask in this significant and isolating year. Just because we are isolating and self distancing to stop the spread, we need to use technology to our advantage and reach out to those who are struggling in these times. Never be afraid to ask if someone is ok? That conversation could change their life! If you need health professional assistance, please contact our clinic on 4723 5700 for an appointment.

02.01.2022 A lot of great information about receiving your flu vaccination early is being circulated by the government and media. However, many practices have experienced difficulties in obtaining enough vaccines from suppliers for private stock and the government for funded stock. We are still awaiting our supply of government funded vaccines for vulnerable patients (ie., those with asthma, diabetes and other chronic illnesses), and have not yet been able to order more 65years + vacci...nes. Please be patient with us as we endeavour to obtain enough stock to help everyone. Please remember to call the practice to book an appointment if you’re wanting your flu vaccination so we can allocate time with a nurse and ensure we have enough stock for you. Due to limits on numbers inside the practice and pressures on our nursing staff currently, we cannot accept walk-ins for flu vaccinations. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

02.01.2022 Yet again, we are having phone troubles. We are doing our best to get assistance from Telstra to resolve this issue. We understand that many people are panicked given the current events, if you seek information specific to your symptoms, travel or exposure history, please contact 13HEALTH and they will be able to direct you. Thank you for your patience.

02.01.2022 RESTRICTIONS UPDATE New restrictions announced this morning by the Premier also apply to anyone who was in Brisbane or the greater Brisbane area since Janua...ry 2. Even if you have returned to a regional area you will be required to have a face mask with you when you leave your house, and be required to wear it when you're indoors at places including shopping centres, supermarkets and places of worship. For the full list of restrictions see here: https://bit.ly/2XsXxCp

01.01.2022 Update: systems are up and running, we are accepting walk-ins and online bookings should be back to normal. Phones are still currently down. Please bear with us as we try to work with Telstra to resolve the issue.
