16.01.2022 Houdini needs your help! After his first vet visit yesterday, and coming into care with an infected cut on his toe pad, it has now been realised that little Houdini will need to have his toe amputated. Houdini is currently at SCAR having this procedure done along with his desexing and microchip. The vet fees for this surgery will be quite high I’m expecting. During last years pandemic all fundraising activities came to a stop, no Bunnings sausage sizzles etc the accounts a...re running on empty. I have also drained my personal bank accounts and credit cards to keep afloat. We rely on people just like you to survive and continue to save lives. Please help if you are able. Along with current vet fees, food and litter expenses, worm and flea treatments the monthly bills are hard to keep up with after Covid 19. With more surgeries planned in the near future we need your help. Every little bit counts. Much love and Happy pets, The team at Kobe’s Angel’s PayPal.Me/kobesangels Account Name :Wiltshire Kobe’s Angel’s Commonwealth Bank Bsb: 062 692 Acc Number: 37432727 Warning: Graphic pic in comments

04.01.2022 We, unlike the rspca, get no funding and survive on donations alone, the pain and hurt people go through on a daily basis saving the needy from sometimes cruel ...situations, we do this on our own time with our own money with no thanks. . We are often abused and broke Why We Rescue This is the best way to explain what we do everyday, what we see and what we feel while doing it. For animal lovers like me, animal rescue is the most incredible, rewarding job... in the history of ever. At the same time... it's also the most heartbreaking... The truth is... You see a lot of things... you never thought you'd see. You witness a level of cruelty... you didn't think was possible. You feel a degree of helplessness... you never thought you'd know. You stare at painful images... soon burned into your memory... that will haunt your thoughts forever. You try to pick up the pieces... so many pieces... of the damage you didn't do. You do everything in your power... but even still... you'll never reach them all. You'll try to stay strong... but you'll mostly feel weak. You'll build walls to protect your heart... but they'll never keep you safe. You'll place barriers around your soul... but the pain will always reach you. And no matter how hard you try to fight it... over time... here's the truth about what happens in animal rescue... The neglect changes you. The abuse hardens you. The suffering breaks you. The ignorance angers you. The indifference disturbs you. The injustice destroys you. On a daily basis... your faith will be tested. Your heart will be wounded. Your soul will be altered. On a weekly basis... you'll question yourself. You'll question your strength. You'll question the world. On a monthly basis... you'll fall down. You'll get up. You'll go on... On a yearly basis... you'll look back... You'll see faces... You couldn't save them. You'll learn to mourn. To grieve. To sob. You'll learn to trust a little less. To do a little more. To fight a little harder. You'll learn to try. To hope. To pray. You'll learn to fail. To succeed. To accept. You'll learn when to hold on. When to give up. When to let go. You'll learn who you are. What you stand for. Why that matters. Then... at times... you'll forget why you matter. You'll question what you're doing. You'll wonder if it's worth it. But... here's the good news... When you forget... When you question... When you wonder... All you have to do... Is take a look around... And you'll see them. You'll see their faces. You'll see their smiles. You'll feel their love. In their eyes, you'll see their journeys... You'll remember their beginnings... You'll know how far they've come... You'll remember when they didn't know you... When they didn't trust you... When they'd given up. You'll remember how you healed them... How you loved them... How they loved you, too. And as you look back... You'll want to move forward... For them... and because of them. In your darkest hours, you'll look around... To find the differences made... the hope given... and the lives saved... Because you existed. In those moments, when you look into their eyes... every doubt will be erased. Every question will be answered. Every worry will subside. Because in that instant... in each of your hearts... You both share the very same thought: "Every bit of pain was worth it... for this moment here with you." And honestly... no matter what else happens... Those moments hold all the strength you need... To keep going. Rescue is pain. Rescue is joy. Rescue is worth it... because they are worth it. And that's the honest truth." 04.01.2022 UPDATE: After finally receiving Lucky’s change of ownership paperwork and microchip details, turns out Lucky is actually 16 and her original name was Teresa. ...Lucky has had a vet check and vaccination and may have a thyroid issue. She will be back at the vet soon for blood work to see how we can help her. At this stage we are not sure what this means for her future adoption. We would just like her to be in a happy space to live out her twilight years. Do you have room for an elderly princess in your home? Hi there, my name is Lucky. I’m about 11 years old and my Mum and Dad could no longer look after me. My Mum has terrible allergies causing a collapsed lung so I had to sleep outside in the shed. I was a bit skinny and had some worms and fleas after spending some time outside. After some treatment I’m putting on weight but I’m a tiny little petite thing. I love to talk and sit on the back of the couch and chill. I’m very clean with my litter tray and love roast chicken. I don’t really like the other cats here but i get along ok with Chelsea the Jack Russell. Want I really want is a home of my own some love and a lap to curl up on in my twilight years. I think i would suit an older couple to give me plenty of chin rubs. Do you have space for me in your home? Are you my new hoomans?

02.01.2022 Sometimes your heart just breaks Sunday I received a msg about 2 x 3 week old kittens from a previous rescue in Jacana. Once these babies came into care it became clear they were fighting for their tiny little lives. Limp, bones protruding and eyes glued shut with infection. Is it possible to save them? Do they have pano and they are too far gone? This is when I just can’t say no, the challenging cases are what I thrive on the most. The motivation within to get these 2... babies through is immense. Now their journey begins. . . Sunday - 290 grams and 300 grams weight, bottle fed every 3 hours along with eye clean. Monday - Emergency vet visit, sub cutaneous fluids, antibiotics twice daily, trycin eye cream 3 times a day. Advice not hopeful (? Pano, parvovirus, Fip) but battle on and see what we can do. Syringe feeding every 3 hrs and loved a bath. Eyes opening with each clean but stuck back together after a sleep. Some improvement in energy levels but worried about loss of vision. Weight unchanged. Tuesday - As above, more improvement in eyes and showing an interest in Royal canin baby food mixed with formula. Wednesday - All treatments have started to work, amazing improvement in both kittens. Eyes no longer sticking together after each sleep and open more, following my finger so definitely some vision. Weight 300 and 309. Showing a lot more energy. Spat the dummy quite literally whilst bottle feeding then proceeded to meow at me for the first time. They wanted solid food. . . It was at this point I could not contain my joy. #happydance. Bubbas ate an entire bowl of baby food mixed with formula. From this point they have not looked back. Thursday - Pooped in the tiniest of litter trays for first time. Very interested in looking about and trying to focus so hard with those poor eyes. Weight 319 and 327. Another happy dance ensues. . . These little ones have been so sick we do not even know their sex yet. They also need names. Donations towards their care and vet bills of which are bound to climb can be made using the details below. It’s because of people like you we are able to continue to save lives. As a non profit organisation covid killed our fundraising over the past year so our bank accounts are running on empty. Please help if you are able, much love and happy pets Kaz Wiltshire Founder CEO Kobe’s Angel’s PayPal.Me/kobesangels Account Name : Wiltshire Kobes Angels Commonwealth Bank BSB: 062 692 ACC No: 37432727

01.01.2022 Hey friends, LITTLE URCHINS ARE CALLING FOR VOLUNTEERS ... Have you been dreaming of volunteering at a wildlife sanctuary but thought you needed experience? Well, here’s your chance...Little Urchins would love to have you join our team, no experience required. We’ll introduce you to the world of wildlife rescue, care & rehabilitation, you’ll be amazed at what’s involved in taking care of our wildlife as you gain experience with feeding, handling & understanding kangaroos . All you need is a love of kangaroos & the willingness to get into a whole lot of roo poo on a regular basis. Alot of what we do involves cleaning up after the mob, feeding out, changing water, washing & bottle feeding. Learn about the husbandry of kangaroos & what’s involved in taking care of our wildlife. It’s physical, hard work but is incredibly rewarding & you’ll be working amongst the kids & like minded volunteers. We have many kangaroos in care-both adult & joey-at the moment & are at capacity without more eager hands. It’s a 24/7, 365 day a year gig which is very much a team effort. Situated in the serene township of Reedy Creek, just over an hour NE of Melbourne, Little Urchins provides a secluded safe haven for our wildlife & is also home to many species of birds, possums & other native critters.
