25.01.2022 Marley the 12 week old Kelpie pup has some more growing to do until she fits into her ears but she was very brave during her vaccination today. Although due to our new non-contact consulting rules her owner couldnt be in the room with her she still managed to steal plenty of treats and cuddles from our nurses. Puppy vaccinations are still considered an essential service at this time to protect their fragile immune systems from diseases such as parvovirus. If your puppy is due for their vaccination call us on 56583500 (Korumburra) or 5997 3300 (Kooweerup) to make an appointment.

22.01.2022 Were looking after our people so they can look after your pets! The health and well-being of our people and clients is paramount. Given the evolving situation of Coronavirus (COVID-19) within Australia and across the world we wanted to provide you with an update of the changes weve put in place to help do our bit to slow the spread of the virus. There are several areas we are asking for help from our clients, these are:... Do not visit the clinic if you have cold or flu symptoms, have been in contact with someone who possibly has COVID-19, you have been overseas in the last 14 days or you are in self isolation. Please contact the clinic if any of these apply and we can organise alternative arrangements to see your pet. We are instituting non-contact consulting at our clinics in order to provide veterinary care for your pets while reducing the spread of COVID-19. Please call us on arrival to the clinic whilst waiting in your car. One of our nurses will take your pet through to our vet, who will then call you while examining your pet. Please phone ahead to order required prescription medication repeats, pet food, worming and flea control so we can arrange to have them ready to pick up without you having to wait. If you are running late, please let us know in advance so we can manage this Please adhere to social distancing recommendations and stay 1.5m apart from others while waiting. Please use contactless payment methods (avoid cash). We can take over the phone payments for consultations, surgery, food and medication. You may see some of our staff wearing gloves and masks, please do not take offence. Together, we can reduce the spread of COVID-19 and impact on our community, whilst continuing to provide care to your pets. For further updates as the situation changes, please check back on our Facebook page.

20.01.2022 One vet, two cows, three calves! Just another day in the life of a large animal vet. A call came in for a cow needing assistance giving birth so one of our vets headed out to help. After successfully delivering a live calf the vet was surprised to find a second calf also needing assistance. With both twins doing well a second cow was noted to be having trouble calving in the paddock so the farmer brought the next patient into the crush and a third healthy calf was delivered shortly after!

20.01.2022 Arnie cant believe there are only two weeks left until Christmas! He is, however, enjoying getting into the festive spirit with another stylish tie. How do you and your pets prepare for the holiday season? Show us your best pictures in the comments below.

18.01.2022 Today we will be taking out 30 minutes out of our busy day to check in with our fabulous staff, share morning tea and ask RUOK. Hopefully you can do the same...

18.01.2022 We wish all of our clients and fur families a wonderful Easter. We are closed Easter Monday and Anzac day. If you have an emergency please call 5658 3500.

18.01.2022 This wild common longneck turtle was brought into the clinic after a caring member of public found it with fishing line hanging out of its mouth. As we suspected the fishing line might be attached to a hook we took some xrays of the turtle and were surprised to find not only a hook stuck in her oesophagus but also 18 eggs ready to be laid! During a quick anaesthetic our vets were able to remove the hook with no lasting damage. The expectant mother was returned to her home in the wild to prepare for the arrival of her large brood.

18.01.2022 Do you have the words to make that conversation?....

17.01.2022 With some of the COVID-19 restrictions easing, this puppy socialisation chart might help you & your young ones deal with the big scary & exciting world out there. Just a note to clients that we are closed this Tuesday for Melbourne Cup. We are still available for emergencies.

17.01.2022 We had the pleasure of meeting this adorable little guy yesterday who came in for his desexing, and won some hearts with his kisses

16.01.2022 We are still here to help you and your pets, however, in an effort to preserve valuable PPE and medical resources which are currently in short supply we have moved to only seeing patients on an urgent/emergency basis. If you are not sure whether your pets complaint is urgent or not, please dont hesitate to contact us and speak to one of our staff members who will help determine whether an in-person consult is required. For animals that do require an in-person visit we are p...erforming non-contact consulting. Please call us on arrival to the clinic whilst waiting in your car. One of our nurses will take your pet through to our vet, who will then call you while examining your pet. Our large animal service is currently unaffected; however, it is important that if you have been overseas in the last 14 days, have been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, are in isolation or are feeling unwell that you let us know so we can take extra precautions to keep our team safe. 16.01.2022 A notice to our Koo Wee Rup clients! We have no power due to maintenance works. If you are trying to contact us please call 5658 3500. We apologies for any inconvenience.

15.01.2022 Azzie made the nearly 5 hour round trip to visit our Korumburra clinic for surgery. Azzies usual vet Dr Meg from Eastwood Vets in Bairnsdale used to work at Korumburra-Kooweerup Veterinary Clinic and knew we had the expertise to undertake a more technically advanced procedure to repair her ruptured cranial cruciate ligament. Brave Azzie walked out of the clinic a lot more comfortable into the care of her dedicated owners - hopefully she will be back on the football field soon.

15.01.2022 Reunion for 2 special girls Yesterday Martha and Matilda, who were adopted through our shelter last year, met up for a play date. They have both been adopted by loving families who have been working on training and lots of fun activities for these loving and active girls. Great to see them meet up again.

15.01.2022 Beware! Take care! For creepy creatures are seen on Halloween! Do you think Arnie our Korumburra clinic cat has enjoyed dressing up for Halloween this year? Show us you pets costumes in the comments below.

14.01.2022 Reassuring news for all our clients and pet owners. Last night the Hon. David Littleproud MP, Minister for Agriculture released a statement regarding vets as an essential service. "The Federal Government considers the role of veterinarians essential to the agricultural sector and therefore to our nations food security but also in protecting companion animals and our nations wildlife."... "The Federal Government has not put any restrictions on veterinarians other than the practice of social distancing and hygiene practices during the COVID-19 crisis." Read the full statement here: http://ow.ly/OgDi50yXf7C See our previous post regarding what we are doing to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and continue to follow us on Facebook for further updates. 13.01.2022 Todays patient(s) of the day Despite suffering from car sickness Anja the Finnish Laphund made the journey into our Korumburra clinic for a very special occasion, the arrival of her new bundle of joy! Delivered by caesarian section both mother and pup are doing well. #itsaboy #motherslove

13.01.2022 Our clinics are closed this Saturday 25th April in observance of ANZAC day. Our after hours service will be running as normal during this time. For any emergencies call 5658 3500 and leave a message with the answering service for a vet to call you back.

13.01.2022 We hope all of our wonderful clients are safe and we thank you all for your support in these different and difficult times. We are slowly working our way back to some normality, with limited numbers of people inside our clinics. We have started grooming again, but it may take some time to get through our waiting list. Tanya is working hard to contact those who had previous bookings, so thank you again for your patience. Unfortunately we are unable to take new grooming clients at this stage.

12.01.2022 Azzie our well travelled Heeler was back for Round 2 this week. The left cruciate repair has gone so well it was decided to repair the right one sooner than expected - yes sadly she managed to break both cruciate ligaments. In true Azzie style she walked out the door like nothing had happened - we tried really hard to make sure her surgical clips were equal so the other dogs would not laugh at her - how did we go?

11.01.2022 Question? How does a French bulldog in Koo Wee Rup give birth to puppies when the father is in Perth and neither one leaves home? We helped Freda achieve this event last week, bringing 8 pups into the world at Korumburra. Using hi-tech artificial breeding methods and a technique called transcervical insemination where a small videocamera helps guide placement we can achieve this with no anaesthetics in a matter of moments. In fact we have even helped dogs as far away as the US and Europe sire puppies in Australia - isn't technology amazing!

10.01.2022 We will be closed tomorrow for the Grand Final public holiday and re-opening Saturday morning. For emergencies please phone us. We hope all of our wonderful clients are keeping well and we thank you all once again for your patience during our COVID-19 practices that were put in place to keep us all safe. We are currently able to have one person in with your pet, however we still ask you to call when you arrive to allow us to coordinate arrivals and departures and enable us to... practice social distancing and hygiene measures. 09.01.2022 Hot weather advice for your fur friends As the temperature warms up over the Australian summer, we need to be mindful of how it can affect our precious pets. ...Plan ahead so pets are never left in the car Walk your dog early in the day when the sun isnt as hot and the pavement is cooler Leave air conditioning on indoors Provide shady retreats outside Provide cool mats or wet towels Frozen Kongs make delicious, refreshing treats Pop ice cubes in water bowls Paddle pools for those that love to swim If you are concerned that an animal is in heat stress, please take them to a vet clinic as soon as possible. #southpaws #summer #besunsmart #hotweather #dogsdieinhotcars #vet #animals #australianheat #bostonterrier #dogsofinsta #instaboston

08.01.2022 Due to our business spanning a lockdown border each of our clinic will be operating slightly differently over the coming 6 weeks. We will continue to offer our full range of veterinary services and grooming. This includes 24 hour emergency care to all animals large and small from wherever you live. If you require medications or supplies from either clinic please ring before your visit and we will have them ready for pick up to limit contact.... Kooweerup Clinic will revert to operating in a contactless fashion. On arrival, please wait in your car and contact the clinic on 59973300 for further advice. No clients will be permitted to enter the building. Though we will continue to offer all services we ask that you consider the urgency of your visit and, if it possible to delay it until restrictions are over. Please review the guidelines issued on the four permissible reasons for leaving your house before travelling. Korumburra Clinic willl continue to operate as before with limited access of the public. Please wait in your car and contact the clinic on 56583500 when you arrive for further advice. One person per pet is permitted to enter the consultation rooms. Clients from lockdown Shires who attend the Korumburra clinic will be managed in a contactless fashion. Working under these restrictions is frustrating and challenging for everyone including our staff. We ask for your kindness and patience as we negotiate this period. Thanks from the crew at Korumbura- Kooweerup Vet Clinics

08.01.2022 Are you ready for Halloween? Happy Halloween! Did you know that the single most dangerous tick for dogs in Australia is the paralysis tick? Ticks are small blood-sucking parasites and once they attach to your dog, they start to produce a potent toxin that affects their central nervous system and cause progressive paralysis and possible death. Dont let this be a scary one for you and your dog this season, use Bravecto for longer-lasting flea and paralysis tick protection. #pa...ralysisticks #halloween #bravectoau See more

08.01.2022 Spring has sprung into action with our getting busy. Our brave little guy was a little curious and sustained a bee sting to his muzzle. Our team at Koo Wee Rup had the pleasure of caring for him today.

07.01.2022 Despite all our nerve blocks and analgesia in surgery sometimes you only get by with a little help from your friends - isnt that right Robbie (the absolute cutest patient of the day at Korumburra-Kooweerup Veterinary Clinic) - we also got to see his baby photos too, even more cuter if that is possible.

07.01.2022 Ba ba black sheep, have you any wool? Yes sir, yes sir three lambs full Whilst treating Barbara the sheeps sore foot today our vets also got to see her three very cute lambs. #blacksheep #sheepvet #kvets

07.01.2022 Martha & her new family came for a visit today. She is one of our recent adoptees through the South Gippsland Animal Shelter that our clinic runs. She has lost 3 kg & been to the doggie beauty parlor. Its wonderful to see her so happy & learning lots of cool things at dog obedience school.

05.01.2022 Our KooWeeRup clinic cats, Bello and Molly, didnt want to miss out on the festive cheer. How cute are these two!

03.01.2022 Arnie wishes everyone a marvellous Monday. Photo courtesy of Heather, thank you so much for sending it through. He does look pretty smart with his bow tie, Dr Crystal purchased for him.

02.01.2022 We all wish animals could talk at times but no more than these two Frenchies (who possibly could have gotten into some rat bait poison). We had to make them vomit to find the truth - No no monsieur we did not eat the poison would have saved them from a bad drooly day at the Korumburra-Kooweerup Veterinary Clinic

02.01.2022 Oh deer! Although he passed his health check with flying colours, with less than a week until Christmas two week old Comet the fallow deer will be too small to join Santas sleigh this year
