25.01.2022 All hands on deck at the mountain getting team Madaz Motorsport ready for the 2021 Bathurst 6 Hour!
25.01.2022 Everyone knows we love out shitbox’s, but this one was a little old - even for us. And hardly a shitbox. A few little pieces we put together for Northside Hi-Performance’s XD. Billet bonnet pull handle to replace the broken plastic, a drop box for the B&M shifter, and a hole in the bonnet so the big cleve ecu der the bonnet can breath!
25.01.2022 Well it was a stinker of a weekend, so naturally we spent it sweating from our eyeballs and building cool shit! 1989 Ex army Land Rover drove in NA on Saturday morning, drove out turbo’d Sunday afternoon. As usual, so much more work than just depicted by the pictures. But a cool little project we’re happy to have been involved in. Currently the turbo is only squeezing out 6PSI but with a larger Holset being installed soon we are hoping to see Atleast a 50-60% increase in power, and even more torque!
25.01.2022 Another S54 swap wrapped up. Drove in last Monday as an M52B28, and drove out an S54. Whilst we had it we also reinforced the subframe, rebuilt the medium case diff with 3.64 gears, added a rear strut brace that ties the strut towers to the subframe pickup points, added an upgraded oil cooler, an electric fan and fan controller, and of course - new big end bearings.... Still to come is an upgraded fuel pump, some recaros, and hopefully in the future brakes. Firmly believe these are one of the best options to swap into an E36, this thing drives like a dream!
25.01.2022 The E46 M3 LSD centre we rebuilt yesterday has found its way into an E24 diff case. For most cars, These LSD centres represent substantially better value and reliability than the standard clutch type centres. They can be fitted to any large diff case, and are often not hugely more expensive than a medium case diff build. ... We usually recommend a 210mm diff for any car running over about 300kw - of course this will change based on how the car is used. Interested In a diff build or more info? Shoot us a message, we’re always happy to shed some light.
24.01.2022 Mmmm, that’s a good view! all the bits that go into putting the 300 horses this S54 spits out, to the ground. @revshift polyurethane bushes @racingdiffs billet 210mm LSD @pirelli tyres @eibach_world sway bars. ... And an old message from @benjaminmclean_ See more
24.01.2022 Throwback to the time we had to cut a perfect circle out of an XD bonnet for our friends over at Northside Hi-Performance with a recipro saw. Turned out pretty nice all things considered.
22.01.2022 Another E36 LS kit out the door. Engine/gearbox mounts to suit the TR6060 box, slim steering shaft and 1 3/4, 4-1 headers. Someone’s gonna have fun with this!
21.01.2022 The latest project we have been working on. E36 subframe modified to accept an E32 210mm diff case, and an E46 M3 finned rear cover. A Few other changes have been made such as additional bracing, and a redesign to allow for easier removal of the larger diff/ to provide protection for the fins. ... At the moment this is just an experiment to assess the viability of this. Any other diffs you’d like us to experiment with?
20.01.2022 The Landy we did a few weeks back is already in for upgrades. The garret turbo we installed had too large an exhaust housing and wasn’t making boost like it should. So we’ve upgraded to a properly sized Holset, with an internal gate. Was only a one day job, and with a bit to tidy up. But it got the job done. Now making 19PSI at max - hopefully we’ll get a power run soon.
19.01.2022 This mornings efforts: direct fit exhaust side M50 hi-rise engine arm to assist in dump pipe or intake clearance when low mounting a turbo. This features 6mm plate steel for the base, bent 1.5 CDW tube, and 3mm steel gussets. May also work for those who keep breaking the standard aluminium arms.
18.01.2022 So happy to see the end of this project! We did the entire exhaust, a bit of work on the intake, a custom fuel system, and a very rough road tune to the point where it can be safely driven on the street. Heading over to the dyno on Monday to hopefully make some numbers. With a built bottom end, we are intending to run around 18PSI of boost.... Whilst there is scope for a larger turbo, a nicer intake, and a larger intercooler - for now we will be happy with a reliable street car, that’s a bit of fun. @northsidehiperformance1
17.01.2022 Even NA 2JZ’s deserve some love! Set of equal length headers we made up and fitted to an IS300 a few weeks back in collaboration with our friends from @northsidehiperformance1 Fully fabbed and tig welded in house, then ceramic coated by @performancecoatings ... Gave the car a nice note, and freed up some horsepower from the very restrictive OEM headers.
17.01.2022 Awesome shot of the TCB Racing commodore from SMSP last weekend! We’ve done lots of work on this car, with more to come.
15.01.2022 Another project we knocked over last November. A set of mild steel 1 7/8 E36 LS headers. This particular set of tubes was a massive challenge as all the work was carried out on site using only our mobile equipment. And working with mounts which weren’t designed with header clearance in mind. Nevertheless, really happy with how they turned out! Whilst they’re not true equal length, this would have doubled the time to build, and it shouldn’t matter when giggle is pumped through the engine!
15.01.2022 Took the race car for its first outing to a @trackschool track day @wakefieldparkrwy the other day. Despite a few issues (blown shock, street pads, zero setup done on the car etc) we had a blast! Car outperformed expectations despite the issues, and we left with a long list of things to address - but so encouraging to see that the concept works! Bring on the next event!
14.01.2022 Spent the last few days trying to get the Turbo MX5 to start. Timing light indicated we were getting spark, hence we thought we were chasing a fueling or vacuum issue. Owner claims he had recently replaced coils and leads, turns out when you replace parts you actually need to use the right parts! ... Coils and leads didn’t match, hence inconsistent spark was the best we were gonna get! But there was just enough to trigger the timing light! Lesson: never trust the owner
10.01.2022 One day E36 half cage! All cams approved, and ready to hit the next Matsuri!
09.01.2022 E46 M3 viscous LSD centre on the bench today! Contrary to popular belief, these are rebuildable, these can be adjusted for more or less lock, and these are a very worthwhile LSD option! Whilst inside we are addressing the output shaft free play issue, replacing all the bearings and seals, and sonic cleaning all the internals for years more hassle free operation!
06.01.2022 When a chilled drive turns into a Quaife LSD install and a gearbox rebuild for a Ford FWD 5 speed. Whilst these type of jobs may not be out specialty, we still carry them out with the highest levels of care and precision. Need LSD in your life. Let us help.
04.01.2022 Another E36 LS Loom out the door. This is completely integrated into the E36 chassis, retaining OEM style relays and fuse block. Also maintaining the original diagnostic port for ABS and body control communication. We completely strip and check the wiring, replace damaged wires and plugs where required, and add an OBD2 port for communication with the LS ECU. It’s possible to maintain AC functionality with this loom, however mounting of the LS compressor is difficult with most engine mounts.
04.01.2022 Super clean 1JZ E36 we played around with a while back. We did the intercooler piping, airbox, and coolant expansion tank. With only 4 bits of silicone used, this is how a turbo pressure side should be set up! Keen to get it back to make some proper intercooler mounts, and do some work on the rear end!
03.01.2022 Tune in and support out mighty Mazda!
02.01.2022 More E36 subframe modification. This time to suit the venerable Nissan R200 diff. Fairly easy job all round, cut, turn, tap paint, send.... We can fit any diff, to any subframe so message us to discuss your requirements.
