25.01.2022 Good news, the Committee has decided to continue the sauna sail in 2018 . Make sure your queens birthday weekend( 9th, 10th and 11th of June 2018) is put in your calendars for another spectacular event.

24.01.2022 FOUR WEEKS TO SAUNA SAIL 2018 This weeks challenge is to correctly identify the year? Lots of coloured sails and a large number of classes.

24.01.2022 REMINDER TO ALL SAILORS The 2018 Sauna Sail is only five weeks away (9-11 June). Did you know that the first Sauna Sail was held in 1968. We missed one in 2015 due to low water and algae. After the first two events there was a two year period where it was not held before returning as an invitation race. Apparently the Sharpie and 14 foot sailors were not invited. We can only speculate why.... Once again LVYC offers a warm welcome to all.

23.01.2022 CANCELLATION OF SAUNA SAIL 2018 The Latrobe Valley Yacht Club has today received notice from Engie, the owners of the Hazelwood Pondage, stating immediate closure of the waterway. Regrettably this means that, despite advanced preparations, that Sauna Sail 2018 has now been cancelled.

22.01.2022 The wait is over for the official 2017 Video. Our Photographer Daniel(http://www.danferguson.photos/), we think he has done an amazing job and would like to thank him for producing this video for us. We hope you all enjoy the video and share it around to inspire people to come again. ... See you all next year.

11.01.2022 Is This The Last Sauna Sail? There has been a lot of discussion in the media about the closure of Hazelwood Power Station which has led to misconceptions about the Pondage and Sauna Sail. We at LVYC have received a number of questions about Sauna Sail 2018. We would like to reassure all sailors that planning for Sauna Sail 2018 is well advanced and is being held again on the Labour Day Weekend 9-11 June. It is increasingly likely that the Hazelwood Cooling Pondage will be re...turned to farmland as part of the power station site rehabilitation in the near future. If you haven't sailed in a Sauna Sail and wish to do so or are a returning sailor we encourage your participation as it is possible that 2018 could be the last. Notice of race for Sauna Sail 2018 can be obtained by clicking on the link. http://www.lvyc.org.au/images/NOR_Sauna_Sail_2018.pdf

10.01.2022 Need to get this out and about, we want to stay on the Pond. Please consider and sign the petition if you agree.

05.01.2022 A very sad day today for the members of the Latrobe Valley Yacht Club. Today was the day that we had to move everything from our beautiful club house into stora...ge. Closure of the Hazelwood Pondage, the impending end of our lease combined with a number of recent break-ins and thefts has forced us into a search for a new home. See more

05.01.2022 Another sad day for the LVYC: Day 2 of the move from our beloved clubhouse. Packing and moving everything remaining following previous weekends effort .... inc...luding the roller doors. You know it’s the end when the steel doors are welded shut. The clubhouse will remain in place until the end of the lease in March 2020 with the slim hope that the Pondage is retained otherwise it will be demolished. Thankyou to everyone for their support during this trying time for the LVYC and it’s members.
