23.01.2022 This morning Lavington Rural Fire Brigade Members were honoured to be named as the Community Group of the Year in the Albury City Council Australia Day Awards 2021. To top the day off.... Our Captain & Senior Deputy Captain, Bruce & Kathy Barnes were recipients of the Volunteer of the Year award 2021. This award acknowledges not only our members going above and beyond our firefighting roles, it acknowledges you as the community and your part in supporting others during hard ...times. We would like to thank the community for supporting our Brigade, dropping off donations, assisting at our station, delivering donations, offering assistance wherever you could during the 2019/20 fires. Individuals, Businesses, Families, Groups, Organisations, Other Emergency Services, all of the wider community including donations from overseas; We Thank you. We sincerely thank those who nominated us for the awards, it is very much appreciated.

We were able to show them what our Juniors Program involves & how young people can get involved in the community. 05.01.2022 Members of the community will see different icons in products like Fires Near Me NSW and the on the NSW RFS website from the start of December. The New icons are being introduced on the NSW RFS website and Fires Near Me NSW app. The new icons are part of a national system to bring consistency to the way information and warnings are shown, especially in border areas.... In NSW, the change means updates to the icons used for Advice, Watch and Act, and Emergency Warning. Over time, these alert levels and icons will apply to other hazards, bringing a greater level of consistency.

During a major incident, the NSW RFS requires items and services such as: Catering Accommodation Fuel Ice Tools Equipment Hire (Generators, Marquees, Portaloos, Skip Bins, Cool Rooms) Cleaning services Transport services (Buses, Private Cars, Freighting) Security services Mechanical services And much more We urgently require a broad range of suppliers for the upcoming fire season. If you’re an interested business, we need your support! To register to do business with us; the process is quick and easy, and can be completed online in a matter of minutes.
